A refined spatial grid element analysis method.
Findings
The proposed method can directly obtain the internal forces and displacements of the joints of the composite beam roof, floor and web.
Originality/value
To comprehensively comprehend the mechanical behavior of double-girder steel plate composite girder bridge structures and facilitate refined analysis, this paper introduces a refined spatial grid element analysis model applicable to both the global and local domains.

Purpose
This paper aims to address the issue of privacy leakage indirectly caused by non-private data shared by travellers on location-based social media (LBSM) in data mining.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper proposes a privacy-preserving location data collection approach based on local differential privacy (LDP) and validates the feasibility of the approach through experiments on three real-world public check-in datasets.
Findings
The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach, which preserves privacy while retaining over 90% of the data utility.
Practical implications
This research has the potential to assist tourism practitioners in establishing improved collaborations with trusted third parties, enabling the exploration of user location data insights without undue concerns regarding indirect privacy breaches during data mining, thereby enhancing travellers’ experience and aiding businesses’ decision-making.
Originality/value
This paper is likely to be the first to represent a promising solution for addressing privacy leakage concerns related to non-sensitive data in data mining. It provides a location data collection technology that strikes a balance between user privacy and data utility for tourism practitioners.

Abstract
Purpose
Accurate and rapid tracking and counting of building materials are crucial in managing on-site construction processes and evaluating their progress. Such processes are typically conducted by visual inspection, making them time-consuming and error prone. This paper aims to propose a video-based deep-learning approach to the automated detection and counting of building materials.
Design/methodology/approach
A framework for accurately counting building materials at indoor construction sites with low light levels was developed using state-of-the-art deep learning methods. An existing object-detection model, the You Only Look Once version 4 (YOLO v4) algorithm, was adapted to achieve rapid convergence and accurate detection of materials and site operatives. Then, DenseNet was deployed to recognise these objects. Finally, a material-counting module based on morphology operations and the Hough transform was applied to automatically count stacks of building materials.
Findings
The proposed approach was tested by counting site operatives and stacks of elevated floor tiles in video footage from a real indoor construction site. The proposed YOLO v4 object-detection system provided higher average accuracy within a shorter time than the traditional YOLO v4 approach.
Originality/value
The proposed framework makes it feasible to separately monitor stockpiled, installed and waste materials in low-light construction environments. The improved YOLO v4 detection method is superior to the current YOLO v4 approach and advances the existing object detection algorithm. This framework can potentially reduce the time required to track construction progress and count materials, thereby increasing the efficiency of work-in-progress evaluation. It also exhibits great potential for developing a more reliable system for monitoring construction materials and activities.

Abstract
Purpose
Currently, many studies have shown an increasing interest in owner-dynamic capabilities (ODCs). Existing studies mainly focus on the dynamic capability basis and capability development within the owner organization, whereas they rarely analyze the capability mobilization within the network of participants in megaprojects. Therefore, this study aims to explain the interaction and evolution of the mobilization strategies of ODCs and the cooperative strategies of other participants.
Design/methodology/approach
This study develops a tripartite evolutionary game model to analyze the evolutionarily stable strategy of the owner, the reciprocal participants and the general participants. Results are numerically simulated with a validation case. The asymptotic stability of multiple group strategies is discussed under the replicator dynamic system.
Findings
This study suggests that resource complementarity significantly reduces the difficulty of mobilization. Moreover, these strategies are only effective with sufficient ODCs. The results indicate that reciprocal participants are more sensitive to the change in resource complementarity.
Originality/value
This study provides strategic guidance for mobilizing ODCs in megaprojects to better embrace uncertainty and stress, contributing to the dynamic capability literature with an evolutionary game approach. And new insight for the study of reciprocity preference in megaprojects is also provided.

Abstract
Purpose
Our study addresses the impact of COVID-19-induced work-family conflict on leaders' well-being and explores the influence of leadership style, coping strategies, and gender disparities in this context, filling a research gap on crisis-related leadership well-being.
Design/methodology/approach
We used hierarchical regression analysis and SPSS's PROCESS macro to analyze a dataset of 516 paired responses, including 231 leaders and 285 subordinates, from Mongolian organizations.
Findings
Strain-based work-family conflict (WFC) negatively affects leaders' workplace well-being. Servant leadership exacerbates this impact. In contrast, servant leadership positively moderates the relationship between time-based WFC and job-related well-being. Leaders who prioritize work and family responsibilities experience a stronger positive (negative) impact of time-based (strain-based) WFC on their workplace well-being. Furthermore, we observed that strain-based WFC has a more detrimental effect on female leaders' well-being, highlighting gender disparities in leadership roles.
Practical implications
Our study elucidates the intricate relationship between work-family conflict and leaders' well-being, underscoring the need to recognize gender differences and coping strategies. We advocate for organizations to proactively establish support structures tailored to various leadership styles and gender-specific challenges, especially in times of crisis.
Originality/value
This study focuses on leaders' well-being during COVID-19 and how it is influenced by work-family conflict, servant leadership, coping strategy, and gender. The study also differentiates between time-based and strain-based work-family conflict and uses dyadic data from Mongolian organizations. More importantly, we identify that gender disparity plays a crucial role in the pandemic-caused leadership challenges and leaders' coping behaviors.

Purpose
Innovation in AI technology has transformed the global economic landscape, thereby becoming a focal point for academic research. A review of extant literature reveals a preponderant focus on the application aspects of AI technology, underscoring the necessity for a more nuanced examination. However, the innovation of AI technology is led by managers who are likely influenced by cognitive biases.
Design/methodology/approach
This study combines supervised machine learning models in the AI field and patent abstracts to accurately identify AI technology innovation. It also considers a vital type of cognitive bias, namely overconfidence, to provide novel insights into the literature on AI technology innovation.
Findings
Find that overconfident CEOs are more likely to promote AI technology innovation than non-overconfident CEOs. Moreover, consistent with the BTOF prediction, the positive impact of CEO overconfidence on corporate AI technology innovation is strengthened by negative performance feedback, but the above relationship has been weakened by positive performance feedback.
Research limitations/implications
This study does not posit that all cognitive biases invariably contribute positively to a firm’s AI technology innovation. Instead, it advocates for a nuanced understanding of the role of manager-specific cognitive biases in influencing such innovation, taking into account the particular characteristics of these biases. Future researchers could consider key decision-makers behavioral attributes and evaluate the influence of other cognitive biases such as escalation commitment, status quo bias and narcissism.
Practical implications
Executives must comprehend how their inherent beliefs influence their interpretations and reactions to financial outcomes. Given an external environment with uncertainties and crises, organizations must revise the conventional perception of CEO overconfidence, recognizing its positive impact on risk mitigation, adversity response and AI technological innovation. The selection or replacement of overconfident managers should be contingent on the organization’s developmental stage, performance status and strategic requirements, complemented by suitable disciplinary and incentive systems.
Originality/value
This research indicates that when a CEO decides to adopt AI technology innovation in response to negative performance feedback, such a decision might be significantly influenced by personal beliefs rather than an objective assessment of the firm’s strategic predicament. Directors and investors find this perspective enlightening. This awareness can foster support for the firm’s activities in AI technology innovation, concentrate on emerging technologies and market opportunities and augment its strategic trajectory by enhancing the firm’s orientation toward technological innovation.

Purpose
This study identifies a methodology to explore the issues of enterprise innovation ecosystem health (EIEH).
Design/methodology/approach
First, this study constructs the indicator system of EIEH based on the research objective; second, the dynamic vertical projection method (DVPM) and entropy weight method are proposed to analyze the status and influencing factors of EIEH; finally, the future development of EIEH is analyzed using GM (1,1).
Findings
In terms of methodology, the DVPM can effectively analyze EIEH, which can not only analyze the development status and potential of EIEH every year but also analyze the comprehensive state of EIEH for many years. In terms of practice, the value and grade of EIEH in China have been gradually increasing from 2016 to 2020, but the overall development is unbalanced, and five key factors affecting EIEH have been identified. The EIEH in China is predicted to steadily grow from 2021 to 2025.
Originality/value
The analytical method employed in this study can effectively analyze EIEH, which provides a new analytical perspective for the evaluation of EIEH and enriches the research content of the enterprise innovation ecosystem (EIE). By analyzing the results, we can gain a comprehensive understanding of the state of different EIEs, enabling each EIE to design tailored remedial measures to enhance EIEH and achieve sustainable development.

Abstract
Purpose
This study was aimed at clarifying the post-fire shear strength of self-drilling screws and the load-bearing capacity of single overlapped screwed connections using steel sheets and self-drilling screws. The self-drilling screws for shear tests were made of high-strength, martensitic-stainless and austenitic stainless-steel bars.
Design/methodology/approach
Shear loading tests were conducted on self-drilling screws to obtain basic information on post-fire shear strength. Tensile tests were conducted on the screwed connections to examine the transition of failure modes depending on the test temperature after experiencing the heating and cooling procedures.
Findings
The post-fire shear strengths and reduction factors of self-drilling screws of each steel grade were quantified. Furthermore, heated temperature-dependent sheet bearing failure, net sheet failure and screw shear failure modes were observed for the screwed connections.
Originality/value
The transition of the failure modes of the screwed connection could be explained using the equations of the post-fire shear strength proposed in this study. The basic experimental data required to evaluate the post-fire shear strength of screws were obtained.

Purpose
Using data from Vietnam to reveal which factors affected the impressive growth of Vietnam's e-commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach
Drawing on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework, the study proposed a conceptual model in which the influence of COVID-19 information overload (IO) on online purchase intention (OPI) was discovered. The authors were also interested in examining the moderator roles of self-construal (SC), perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) in inducing the intention to make an online purchase.
Findings
Perceived threat (PT) and cyberchondria (C) played full mediation roles in the impact of IO on OPI. Moreover, PT was found to be a partial mediator of the relationship between IO and C. Furthermore, interdependent self-construal (IntSC) positively moderated the positive effect of IO on PT. Finally, PU and PEOU showed significant moderated moderation effects, in which PU moderated the effects of PT and C on OPI, whereas PU itself was moderated by PEOU.
Research limitations/implications
Understanding the positive effects of IO, C and PT on OPI can be useful for marketers. In addition, managers should improve the ease-of-use and usefulness of online stores/platforms to attract more consumers to online channels.
Practical implications
Marketers and managers should learn more about how to take advantage of IO, PT and C. For instance, to sell medical supplements, marketer should push up related-health information such as obesity, diabetics, to make consumers perceive a threat to their health and search for ways to improve their health condition. This is the time when advertisements for medical supplements bring into play. This method can be applied in many different fields. The key is that marketers should find out what is the threat that their targeted customers can perceive and then spread out a huge amount of relevant information.
Social implications
The government should control infodemic and guide people to obtain official information. This helps to restrain the PT and C, which seriously harm people's health and affect their behaviors, such as making unusual or panicked purchases. This study also suggests a considerable concern that residents of Asian cultures, where IntSC is dominant, may perceive threat more than residents of Western cultures.
Originality/value
Limited research addresses the relationship between PEOU and PU when they act as moderators. Current research not only explains the moderation effect of PU under the influence of PEOU but also suggests that PEOU may be more important than PU in emerging markets due to customers' inexperience in online markets or channels. It also explores the factors that influenced OPI in Vietnam during the COVID-19 outbreak and contributes to the scientific literature on Vietnam, especially in terms of discovering the tendency of SC, which has not been mentioned before in research about Vietnamese.

Purpose
Inspired by the internationalisation paths to prosperity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), where narcissistic leaders are diligent about organisations but also pursue their dark goals, this study aims to concurrently examine two avenues for the internationalisation of narcissistic leaders in SMEs concerning the function of team organisational citizenship behaviours (OCB): corporate social irresponsibility (CSI) and digital business model innovation (BMI).
Design/methodology/approach
This study utilised a quantitative design emphasising mature theory research, and data was analysed using multiple regression analysis and Hayes' process model. The data for this study was collected via surveys from 270 SMEs in Vietnam.
Findings
The study showed that narcissistic Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) can penetrate the global market profoundly by utilising both the righteous path, which is based on the power of the times via BMI, and the unethical path, CSI. However, team devotion via OCB can mitigate the unethical conduct of narcissistic CEOs.
Practical implications
The study endeavoured to find a path to internationalisation for SMEs in emerging markets with high economic openness and increasingly close connections with international markets, via two strategies for SMEs to conquer the international market more successfully, and with utilising the foundations of CEO narcissism and team citizenship behaviour.
Originality/value
This study contributed to the theory of SME internationalisation by employing the resource-based view and upper-echelon theory, with the updated Uppsala model as its foundation.
