Abstract
Purpose
The primary objective of this study is to examine how trust and religiosity, in relation to halal products, impact Turkish consumers' intention to purchase such goods. Furthermore, the study aims to identify whether attitudes towards halal products play a mediating role in these effects.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from 847 people living in Turkey using an online survey. The authors empirically tested the proposed conceptual model via structural equation modeling.
Findings
The study’s results show that trust in halal products has a positive impact on both the intention to buy halal products and the attitude towards them. Moreover, one’s attitude towards halal products affects the intention to purchase them. Additionally, one’s religiosity-belief level influences the intention to purchase halal products, while religiosity-practice level influences the attitude towards halal products. Furthermore, through indirect effect analyses, it was found that trust in halal products and religious practices has an indirect impact on intention through attitude.
Research limitations/implications
These outcomes significantly contribute to understanding the complex interactions between trust in halal products, levels of religiosity, and attitudes in shaping consumers' purchase intentions and approaches towards halal products. These implications offer valuable insights into how consumers' religious beliefs, trust perceptions, and attitudes influence their purchase of halal-certified products. Validating these conclusions on a larger scale and exploring them in different contexts would be beneficial.
Practical implications
The practice dimension of religiosity pertains to performing actions prescribed by the religion, embodying the practical applications of religious teachings. According to the research findings, the belief dimension of religiosity significantly and positively affects the intention to purchase halal products. This finding aligns with several prior studies.
Social implications
Sharing information on websites, social media platforms, or product packaging can be effective. If businesses genuinely adhere to halal standards and address the genuine needs of consumers who value halal products, they can enhance consumers' interest in such products.
Originality/value
This research was conducted in Turkey, where most people follow the Muslim faith. The main objective of the study was to examine the trust levels of consumers who have strong religious beliefs and are sensitive to consuming halal products. The study looked at trust on three levels: trust in the halal product, trust in the company that produces halal products, and trust in institutions that provide halal certification. The study also looked at the religiosity levels of the consumers using a two-dimensional approach, which included their beliefs and practices.

Abstract
Purpose
Knowledge hiding has become one of the main inhibitors to the generation of new research ideas and solutions for the university context. Organisational support has been proven effective in reducing knowledge hiding within corporate settings. Nevertheless, recent evidence emerging from academic studies undervalues its ability to address this issue in university contexts. This paper believes further investigation is needed to produce more conclusive findings. Therefore, this paper aims to examine the positive indirect effect of organisational support on creativity by reducing the three types of knowledge hiding: evasive hiding, playing dumb and rationalised hiding.
Design/methodology/approach
The research model was tested with survey data from a sample of research groups from public and private universities in an emerging country.
Findings
The findings suggest that organisational support has a positive indirect effect on creativity by reducing two of the three types of knowledge hiding (evasive hiding and playing dumb).
Research limitations/implications
The findings cannot be extrapolated to the knowledge hiding that occurs during knowledge transfer.
Originality/value
The work challenges current evidence that disregards the significance of organisational support in reducing knowledge hiding among academics and reveals that organisational support is essential for addressing the difficulties that result from economic incentive conflicts associated with evasive hiding and playing dumb. Furthermore, effective organisational support is needed to promote a culture of knowledge sharing to gain more respect, recognition and prestige. This support also reduces the harmful practice of rationalised hiding, which is often used both as an ego-defensive mechanism and to maintain positions of academic superiority.

Abstract
Purpose
The Indonesian Waqf Board and United Nation Development Program are developing green waqf in Indonesia. Development of green waqf in Indonesia as a response to save the earth from environmental damage and other social impacts. This paper aims to measure public perceptions about willingness to participate in making donations to the green waqf program in Indonesia.
Design/methodology/approach
Modifying the Theory of Reasoned Action framework, questionnaire data were collected from 311 Muslims in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling method.
Findings
The findings show that attitude, subjective norm, product knowledge and trust influence the Muslims in Indonesia to donate to green waqf. In contrast, Islamic religiosity harms the intention to donate in green waqf but is insignificant.
Research limitations/implications
This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a limited sample of several communities, so the results cannot be generalized. Further investigation needs to be carried out by involving a more diverse sample to get better results. However, the results of this study can be used as an illustration of how Muslims behave in donating green waqf.
Practical implications
These results imply that to develop green waqf in Indonesia, especially in attracting waqf candidates willing to make donations, waqf institutions must carry out engineering to shape the attitude of prospective donors through various activities such as socialization and education of the green waqf program. Waqf institutions must also build public trust by involving public figures to campaign for the green waqf program. This will likely increase prospective donors’ active participation in donating their money to develop green waqf in Indonesia.
Originality/value
Waqf is a severe concern for the Indonesian Government, including waqf for the environment. To the bets of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to look at the behavior of the green waqf model in Indonesia. Thus, the acceleration of waqf development can be realized and is expected to impact the community significantly.

Purpose
Financial inclusion plays an essential role in today’s modern era. There has been a growing recognition that financial inclusion is an important enabler in poverty reduction. It is an essential tool in enabling inclusive growth and reducing poverty. This study aims to identify the barriers that limit customers to use digital financial services (DFS) in Pakistan. Second, this study aims to spread awareness of DFS and benefits of digital financial inclusion and services to retain customers in Pakistan. Third, the study purposes to retain old customers toward DFS in Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
This study is qualitative phenomenology study. The data were collected through interviews (i.e., online or face-to-face, depending on participants convenience). The sample comprised respondents with different age and different nature of work. Before conducting actual interviews, the interview questions were validated by three experts working in the State Bank of Pakistan in the relevant field. The interviews took from those individuals who were have digital financial account, but not using it due to some reasons. Data analysis carried out by using the NVivo software to deliver the themes after analyzing the data by querying, visualizing and coding.
Findings
The study categorized s6 themes as second order themes including dependency, illiteracy, lack of trust, cost, lack of access to financial services and financial instability by emerging 16 subject themes as 1st order themes. It including financial illiteracy, digital illiteracy, lack of knowledge, depend on spouse, depend on parents/children, depend on siblings, fear, security issues, privacy issues, lack of internet access, lack of account access, unemployment, low income, high expenses, other cost and transaction cost. These barriers limit DFS adoption and its use. This study found that 90% respondents were financial illiterate and 80% respondents do not have the knowledge of new recent e-payment system.
Originality/value
However, this study contributes to reducing these barriers and spreading knowledge about financial inclusion and DFS. From a managerial perspective, additional attention needs to be devoted to the adoption of financial inclusion and innovation in DFS.

Purpose
Workplace bullying is a serious problem among nurses, which results in negative workplace behavior. Therefore, this study aims to understand how workplace bullying affects employees’ knowledge hiding behavior. Specifically, this study explored psychological contract breach as an underlying mechanism between workplace bullying and knowledge hiding; and learning goal orientation as a boundary condition between psychological contract breach and knowledge hiding.
Design/methodology/approach
The study collected data from 343 nurses working in the health-care sector of Pakistan on convenience basis using a questionnaire-based survey between December 2021 to March 2022. The data were analyzed through structural equation modeling.
Findings
The results revealed the adverse effect of workplace bullying on knowledge hiding behaviors among nurses, and psychological contract breach was noted to mediate this association. Further, learning goal orientation was noted to buffer the relationship between psychological contract breach and knowledge hiding.
Research limitations/implications
The cross-section design may restrict causality; however, the findings suggest health-care administration take appropriate measures to reduce the adverse effects of workplace bullying. In addition, the administration is suggested to implement training programs to make nurses capable of dealing with workplace stressors (bullying and psychological contract breach).
Originality/value
This research provides a novel perspective to consider psychological contract breach as a mechanism between workplace bullying and knowledge hiding in the health-care sector from the conservation of resources perspective. It further explored learning goal orientation as a buffer to mitigate the effect of psychological contract breach on knowledge hiding.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to seek to understand counterproductive knowledge behaviour (CKB) in higher education institutions (HEIs) by integrating knowledge hiding (KHi) and lack of knowledge sharing (LKS).
Design/methodology/approach
The current research uses a hybrid conceptual review combining the bibliometric study and conceptual review of 47 articles. The bibliometric analysis aimed to identify research maps, and the conceptual review sought to understand the current development of research fields.
Findings
The bibliometric analysis highlights essential summaries, such as the pioneering authors, seminal papers and conceptual maps. However, knowledge hoarding as a dimension of LKS appears in the niche theme. The conceptual analysis indicates three groups of factors contributing to KHi and LKS. Moreover, the study highlights the causal relation between both KHi as well as LKS and faculty member performance while proposing remedies derived from integrating the social exchange theory (SET) and conservation of resource (COR) theory.
Research limitations/implications
The present study provides an integrated image of KHi and LKS in the HEI context, as well as its potential remedies by integrating SET and COR. The basis of this study is a literature review; thus, future studies are recommended to empirically explore the integration of KHi and LKS within the HEI context.
Practical implications
This research provides an overview for HEI policymakers to re-examine the critical role of institutional research as one of the considerations for evaluating and developing policies. Specifically, policymakers can reflect on all policy directions to determine whether there are any symptoms of CKB in the institutions. Moreover, stakeholders can find out the reason behind the non-optimal performance of faculty members regarding CKB and any mitigating factors.
Originality/value
Understanding CKB is crucial in managing HEI. This research provides a comprehensive image of KHi and LKS within HEI, especially in a collectivist culture.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the present study is to reveal the antecedents of the new green product success (NGPS) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that manufacture in Türkiye with a middle-income economy. To this end, a research model for the serial mediating role of green human capital (GHC) and green adaptive ability (GAA) in the relationship between green mindfulness (GM) and NGPS was developed and tested. Determining the driving forces of NGPS is essential due to the contributions of SMEs manufacturing, especially in middle-income economies, such as Türkiye, to the national economy.
Design/methodology/approach
The present study used partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypothesized relationships. The study hypotheses were tested in a sample of 396 manufacturing enterprises, qualified as SMEs in Türkiye with ISO 14001 certificates.
Findings
Empirical evidence indicates that GM, GHC and GAA act as significant antecedents of NGPS. Furthermore, empirical evidence demonstrates that GHC and GAA, in turn, mediate the relationship between GM and NGPS.
Research limitations/implications
Managers, especially in manufacturing SMEs, should be aware that they need to develop intangible resources to improve NGPS. Increased investment in GM results in higher levels of GHC and GAA, which collectively leads to improved NGPS.
Originality/value
The current literature has not previously explained the mechanism of the relationship between GM and NGPS. The originality of the present study, which discusses the relevant research gap, is to develop an integrated framework to investigate how GM impacts NGPS, specifically for SMEs, and to test it empirically.
