Abstract
Purpose
Mega construction projects (megaprojects) require technological innovation cooperation (TIC) to address complex construction demands and the interests of multiple stakeholders. Although TIC has been extensively discussed at the firm level, a significant gap remains in understanding megaprojects at the project level. This paper aims to identify TIC’s influencing factors and transmission paths and discuss stakeholders’ TIC mechanisms at the project level.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on case analysis, expert interviews, literature analysis and the Delphi method, this paper identifies the influencing factors of TIC in megaprojects at the project level. A structural system of these influencing factors is constructed by interpretive structural modeling (ISM), developing various mechanisms for TIC from bottom to top. The Matriced’ Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliquée à un Classement (MICMAC) method validates the driving forces and dependencies of the influencing factors, clarifying their roles and positions within the system. Additionally, the TIC mechanism is constructed.
Findings
The research findings identify 26 influencing factors categorized into four hierarchical levels: cooperative relationships, cooperative behavior, cooperative performance and technological innovation risks. Regarding direct factors, resource sharing affects goal congruence and communication effectiveness in megaprojects, affecting TIC’s satisfaction and trust. Most factors exist in the middle layer, and bridging the upper and lower levels depends on stakeholder collaboration. The root factors in the independent group significantly impact TIC, including policy circumstances, high technical requirements and limited site conditions. Addressing these issues influences improvements in other factors. The development of a digital resource-sharing platform, the enhancement of innovation incentives, the optimization of benefit distribution mechanisms and the improvement of risk-sharing mechanisms are essential for the effective operation of the TIC mechanism.
Originality/value
This study contributes to identifying and classifying challenges and opportunities in TIC. It explores transmission paths for enhancing TIC and presents strategies for successfully implementing and delivering megaprojects.

Abstract
Purpose
Drawing on the tenets of institutional theory, the purpose of this study is to examine the impact of Confucianism on technology for social good, while also considering the moderating influence of extrinsic informal institutions (foreign culture) and intrinsic formal institutions (property rights).
Design/methodology/approach
This study constructs a comprehensive database comprising 9,759 firm-year observations in China by using a sample of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2016 to 2020. Subsequently, the hypotheses are examined and confirmed, with the validity of the results being upheld even after conducting endogenous and robustness tests.
Findings
The findings of this study offer robust and consistent evidence supporting the notion that Confucianism positively affects technology for social good through both incentive effect and normative effect. Moreover, this positive influence is particularly prominent in organizations with limited exposure to foreign culture and in nonstate-owned enterprises.
Originality/value
The findings contribute to the literature by fostering a deep understanding of technology for social good and Confucianism research, and further provide a nuanced picture of the role of foreign culture and property rights in the process of technology for social good in China.

Abstract
Purpose
Based on the ability–motivation–opportunity (AMO) model, this research aims to examine the hierarchical impact of high-performance human resource practices (HPHRPs) on the work practices and service performance of hospitality organizations.
Design/methodology/approach
Through an extensive analysis of time-lagged, multilevel and multisource data encompassing 721 employees and 153 stores across 17 restaurant brands in Taiwan, this study illuminated the hierarchical impact of HPHRPs in fostering a service-oriented environment.
Findings
This study reveals that HPHRPs have a direct positive effect on service performance. It also highlights an exclusive indirect positive impact, indicating that HPHRPs contribute to elevated service performance through the multilevel mediating effect of team engagement. A distinctive aspect of this study is that it identifies service climate as a critical multilevel moderator, strengthening the positive relationship between HPHRPs and team engagement. Additionally, service climate is found to be a key factor that amplifies the indirect multilevel positive effect HPHRPs have on service performance by reinforcing team engagement.
Practical implications
Strategically implementing robust HPHRPs, fostering a stimulating work environment and emphasizing team interaction can help hospitality organizations cultivate workplaces that deliver unparalleled guest experiences.
Originality/value
This study offers a strategic roadmap for the hospitality industry with a comprehensive multilevel HPHRPs framework that is customized to the specific needs of the workforce, and focused on fostering a service climate to maximize the positive outcomes of service excellence.

Purpose
Protecting the planet from unprecedented environmental crises in the presence of economic expansion has become a critical global concern. Hence, the current study aims to analyze the impact of nations’ green behaviors that they adopt to protect the planet while promoting economic expansion. Additionally, the study explores the moderating role of ES in the nexus of GI and green growth.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected over a period of 1990–2019. Analysis was conducted by employing panel data analysis techniques and various robustness tests, including multicollinearity, serial correlation and spatial correlation, for a sample of 33 nations by categorizing in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) economies as well as in the pre- and post-financial crisis period.
Findings
Analysis of the composite sample reveals a significant positive impact of green investments and green innovations on green growth. Further analysis reveals a significant moderating role of environmental policy stringency in OECD economies, especially in the pre-financial crisis period. The interaction slope shows that the contribution of green innovations to green growth is positive at high and medium levels of ES. However, in the case of BRICS economies, this moderating role is insignificant.
Practical implications
Study findings signify the importance of stakeholder environment and urge governments to prioritize funds for sectors practicing environmentally friendly behaviors to foster green growth and stresses for more effective infrastructure of policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Originality/value
The relationship of green investments, innovations and green growth has been established largely in existing literature; however, there is a dearth of studies to analyze the moderating role of ES. Hence the current study investigates this moderating role in the nexus of nations’ green behavior and green growth in different stakeholder environments and contexts.

Abstract
Purpose
The prevalence of live-streaming e-commerce leads to massive impulse purchases. Based on social learning theory, this study proposes a research model to explore the effect of streamers and viewers on impulsive buying by influencing consumers’ certainty perception.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopts a questionnaire (N = 285) to collect data and conducts a partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis to examine our research hypotheses.
Findings
Our results indicate that streamers and viewers improve product demand certainty and product quality certainty, but their effects on streamer quality certainty vary. In addition, product quality certainty is positively associated with impulsive buying, whereas streamer quality certainty and product demand certainty show a negative effect. Streamers can only drive impulse purchases by increasing product quality certainty, but the influence of viewers on consumers’ impulsive buying is fully mediated by product quality certainty and streamer quality certainty.
Originality/value
Our findings contribute to the literature on live-streaming e-commerce (LSE) by identifying the differential effects of streamers and viewers on impulsive buying. In addition, we broaden the area of certainty research in the LSE field to include product quality certainty, streamer quality certainty and product demand certainty and evaluate these certainty aspects as three psychological mechanisms that drive consumers’ impulse purchases.

Abstract
Purpose
Although many researchers have studied the benefits of the applications of e-commerce, few have examined the relationship between e-commerce and its effects on household income distribution. This study explores the effects of e-commerce development on household income distribution in different regions of China.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a two-way fixed effect model for empirical analysis based on matched data from the E-commerce Development Index and the China Family Panel Studies database. The instrumental variables method is used for robustness testing.
Findings
The research findings indicate the following: (1) The development of e-commerce significantly reduces income inequality among Chinese households. For every 10% increase in e-commerce development, the income gap in China shrinks by 2.38%, with a reduction of 2.97 and 0.47% in urban and rural areas, respectively. (2) The reduction in income inequality due to e-commerce development is more pronounced in economically advanced regions. (3) The development of e-commerce in the eastern and western regions has a greater impact on reducing income inequality in urban than rural areas. In contrast, the opposite effect is observed in the central region.
Originality/value
This study contributes to existing research by examining the effects of e-commerce development on household income distribution. It has important theoretical and practical implications for issues such as narrowing the urban–rural gap.

Purpose
This study aims to explore whether top management team (TMT) faultlines affect corporate digitalization and what the impact mechanism is, thus effectively promoting the digital transformation of enterprises from the perspective of optimizing TMT structure.
Design/methodology/approach
This study sampled companies that were listed in China between 2011 and 2020. Using the two-way fixed effect model, it empirically tests the impact of TMT faultlines on the digital transformation of enterprises.
Findings
TMT task-related faultline significantly positively impacts enterprise digital transformation, while the bio-demographic faultline has a significant negative effect. The regulatory role played by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) power intensity in the relationship between the bio-demographic faultline and digital transformation is a negative one. The above relationship is strongly influenced by industry technical sophistication, corporate location and listing board.
Research limitations/implications
The research has promoted the development of the upper echelons theory in the context of digitalization. Moreover, it enlightens the research of digital transformation’s influencing factors and mechanisms. However, no suitable mediating variable was found.
Practical implications
This research has significant implications for managers to optimize the internal structure of the TMT according to different enterprises’ business strategies in order to establish an efficient management team.
Originality/value
This study provides a new theoretical framework for TMT’s role in enterprise digital transformation. Further, it makes a beneficial exploration of the boundary and situational conditions of their relationship.

Purpose
As an ancient art form, embroidery has strong practicality and artistic value. However, current embroidery style migration models produce images with unclear textures and a lack of stitch detail. So, in this paper, we propose a cyclic consistent embroidery style migration network with texture constraints, which is called Texture Cycle GAN (TCGAN).
Design/methodology/approach
The model is based on the existing Cycle GAN network with an additional texture module. This texture module is implemented using a pre-trained Markovian adversarial network to synthesize embroidery texture features. The overall algorithm consists of two generative adversarial networks (for style migration) and the Markovian adversarial network (for texture synthesis).
Findings
Qualitative and quantitative experiments show that, compared with the existing convolutional neural network style transfer algorithm, the introduction of the texture-constrained embroidery style transfer model TCGAN can effectively learn the characteristics of style images, generate digital embroidery works with clear texture and natural stitches and achieve more realistic embroidery simulation effects.
Originality/value
By improving the algorithm for image style migration and designing a reasonable loss function, the generated embroidery patterns are made more detailed, which shows that the model can improve the realism of embroidery style simulation and help to improve the standard of embroidery craftsmanship, thus promoting the development of the embroidery industry.

Abstract
Purpose
The importance of workplace inclusion continues to gain scholarly acclaim. However, in reality, many employees choose to ostracize their colleagues post workplace relationship strife. With this notion the present study aims to delve into the intricate linkages between workplace relationship conflict (WRC) and employee ostracism behavior (EOB), exploring the serial mediating roles of relational identification (RI) and emotional energy (EE). Additionally, the study examines the potential moderating effect of perceived forgiveness climate (PFC) to understand how forgiveness climate may serve as a boundary condition in shaping these crucial relationships.
Design/methodology/approach
The analysis utilized five-wave time-tagged data collected from 228 employees through scenario and survey methods. The Hayes PROCESS Macro was employed to examine the proposed hypotheses.
Findings
The results indicate a positive influence of WRC on EOB. Additionally, RI and EE sequentially mediate the relationship between WRC and EOB. Furthermore, PFC moderates the serial mediation process (RI and EE) between WRC and EOB as well as the adverse effects of WRC on RI.
Originality/value
Grounded in the theoretical framework of conservation of resource (COR) theory and cognitive-affective personality system (CAPS) theory, the present study offers new insights. By establishing the complicated interplay of RI and EE between WRC and EOB along with the moderating role of PFC, the study extends the understanding of the mechanisms involved, providing a more comprehensive perspective. By shedding light on these complicated interconnected links, the study paved the way for positive social dynamics at work.
