Abstract
This study aims to empirically examine the influence of transformational leadership on job satisfaction in Jordanian commercial banks through knowledge sharing as a mediator. The data were collected from 232 employees and then analyzed through regression analysis using SPSS. The results revealed that there is a significant influence of transformational leadership on job satisfaction, as well as a significant influence of knowledge sharing on this relationship. These findings imply that if managers adopt transformational leadership, their subordinates can be satisfied with their jobs, specifically if they facilitate knowledge sharing. This study sheds light on improving organizational performance and employee engagement in a specific context and provides excellent direction for future contributions.

Abstract
Purpose
The study investigates the serial mediation of psychological ownership and workplace innovation in the nexus between organizational leadership and employee performance among healthcare workers in Ghana.
Design/methodology/approach
Six hundred and thirty-seven samples were selected using convenience sampling technique. The data gathered using self-reported questionnaire were analyzed using SEM-PLS.
Findings
The findings reveal that organizational leadership directly improves healthcare employee’s psychological ownership, workplace innovation and employee performance. Psychological ownership and workplace innovation separately and serially mediate the relationship between organizational leadership and healthcare employees’ performance.
Practical implications
The study highlights the significant influence of organizational leadership, psychological ownership and workplace innovation on the performance of healthcare employees. Healthcare organizations ought to allocate resources toward leadership development strategies to foster a favorable work atmosphere that promotes innovation and enables employees to assume ownership of their tasks and contribute to continuing enhancement, ultimately leading to enhanced performance.
Originality/value
This research is a pioneering study on serial mediation of psychological ownership and workplace behavior in the association between organizational leadership and performance in healthcare settings in Ghana.

Abstract
Purpose
Drawing on concepts from workplace diversity and cognitive evaluation theories (CETs), this study seeks to deepen our understanding of the link between transformational leadership and teachers’ creative teaching in a more and more diverse campus.
Design/methodology/approach
Survey data involving a total of 895 high school teachers across Taiwan were collected using purposive sampling methodology and analysed with SPSS and SmartPLS software.
Findings
The results reveal that the positive relationship between the principal’s transformational leadership and teachers’ creative teaching is partially mediated by teachers’ promotion focus and task interdependence which could reduce the defensive silence and reluctant collaboration found in diverse workplaces. Moreover, principals’ cross-cultural competence also moderates such relationship, since it helps transformational leader to take adaptive measures to address the challenges associated with managing differences in perspective and ideas within a heterogeneous workforce. Based on these findings, implication for educational leadership is discussed.
Originality/value
Studies have affirmed the positive association between transformational leadership and creative teaching. However, the mechanism sustaining this relationship and how this relationship can further be intensified are still unknown, especially in a more and more diverse education context. Our analysis shows that principals’ cross-cultural competence, and teachers’ task independence and promotion focus are relevant factors school leaders should consider in enhancing the link between their transformational leadership and teachers' creative teaching.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to contribute to empirical research on individual ambidexterity drivers. This paper analyzes the relationships between inclusive leadership, team knowledge acquisition, team knowledge sharing, digital tools usage and individual ambidexterity.
Design/methodology/approach
This study conducted a questionnaire survey of high-tech and manufacturing enterprises in China and obtained 75 leader questionnaires and 365 employee questionnaires. The hypotheses were tested using hierarchical and cross-level regressions.
Findings
The research indicates that inclusive leadership improves team knowledge acquisition and sharing. However, only team knowledge sharing significantly boosts individual ambidexterity, and not team knowledge acquisition. Thus, inclusive leadership fosters individual ambidexterity primarily through team knowledge sharing. Digital tools usage strengthens the impact of inclusive leadership on team knowledge sharing, thereby intensifying its effect on individual ambidexterity. However, digital tools usage weakens the effect of inclusive leadership on team knowledge acquisition.
Originality/value
First, this study addresses the call for research on ambidexterity at different levels, revealing the heterogeneous impact of team knowledge acquisition and sharing on individual ambidexterity. Second, this study developed a theoretical model to explore how leadership affects individual ambidexterity. Third, this study responds to the question that digitalization has won, but has leadership lost by investigating the role of digital tools usage in the relationship between inclusive leadership and team knowledge integration.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the lubrication characteristics of siliconized graphite with a wavy-tilt-dam (WTD) pattern applied to the hydrodynamic face seals.
Design/methodology/approach
It focuses on two friction pairs, carbon graphite versus tungsten carbide (CG-TC) and siliconized graphite versus siliconized graphite (SG-SG), through a three-dimensional elastic hydrodynamic lubrication numerical model that integrates finite difference method and finite element method. The consequence of axial elastic deformation of sealing pair materials on film thickness, film pressure, cavitation and sealing performance for a WTD mechanical face seal under full working conditions of ΔP = 0.8, 5.3 and 15.8 MPa are analyzed theoretically.
Findings
The nuclear hydrodynamic WTD face seal generates a convergent gap and exhibits a dual-characteristic behavior of hydrodynamic and hydrostatic effects under various ΔP. Compared to the CG-TC, the SG-SG shows a lower minimum film thickness, decreasing by 3.9%, 17.3% and 35.1%. The flow leakage rate decreases by 47.8%, 52.1% and 75.4%. In addition, the film stiffness increases by 46.8%, 49.8% and 97.8%. Thus, the SG-SG better deals with the dynamic tracking problem, and the sealing performance is stable. The strength and hardness of siliconized graphite enhance WTD sealing performance and improve cavitation control in high-pressure applications.
Originality/value
The lubrication characteristics of the siliconized graphite with a WTD pattern could inform the future design of hydrodynamic shallow groove wavy seals in boiler feedwater engineering implements under high-pressure conditions for the nuclear power industry.

Purpose
The application of galvanized steel is widespread across industries due to its protective zinc coating that protects against atmospheric corrosion. However, previous studies have primarily focused on long-term corrosion rates rather than the full-scale corrosion behavior of the zinc. This paper aims to study the full-scale corrosion evolution of galvanic steel under simulated marine atmospheric environment using real-time EIS measurement.
Design/methodology/approach
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) provides an advanced method in monitoring such behavior. Therefore, the EIS method has been used to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the corrosion behavior of galvanic steel in a full-time manner.
Findings
The results indicate that the corrosion process of galvanic steel can be divided into three stages: an initial stage with an increased corrosion rate, a subsequent stage with a reduced corrosion rate, and finally a third stage with the lowest and constant corrosion rate. The evolution of corrosion resistance is closely related to changes in composition and structure of the patina layer. In the initial stage, galvanized steel undergoes the formation of soluble ZnCl2 and needle-like Zn5(OH)8Cl2·H2O, which promotes the generation and maintenance of an electrolyte layer, consequently leading to an increase in corrosion rate. With prolonged corrosion time, there is a continuous accumulation of Zn5(OH)8Cl2·H2O within the patina layer, which reduces the content of soluble components and promotes the development of a denser inner layer, thus enhancing corrosion resistance.
Originality/value
This work holds significance in the monitoring of corrosion, understanding the evolution of corrosion and predicting the lifespan of galvanized steel.

Purpose
Toward sustainable development, radical green innovation (RGI) is necessary. Despite extensive research on the factors influencing green innovation, few studies have been conducted on the precursors. Based on upper echelons (UE) theory, dynamic capability (DC) theory, “stimulus-organism-response” (SOR) theory, social information processing (SIP) theory and cognitive appraisal (CA) theory of emotion, the study explores how digital leadership (DL) affects RGI and investigates the mediating effects of green organizational identity (GOI) and the moderating effects of digital threat (DT) and technology for social good (TSG), as well as the multiple concurrent causalities that trigger high RGI.
Design/methodology/approach
The method of combining structural equation model (SEM) and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fs QCA) is adopted in the study. Data from 233 questionnaires were collected at two different time points.
Findings
This study's findings indicate that the four dimensions of DL can positively influence RGI and GOI partially mediates between the four dimensions of DL and RGI. DT has a negative moderating effect between DL and GOI, while TSG is positively regulated between them, DT and TSG linkage moderates the partial mediating effect of GOI in DL and RGI. Further, fs QCA is used to analyze the causal complexity of DL dimensions and GOI to RGI and nine effective configuration paths are identified. It is found that the synergy of digital thinking ability (DTA), digital detection ability (DDA), digital social ability (DSA), digital reserve ability (DRA) and GOI is crucial to high RGI. Among them, GOI core appears the most times, indicating that GOI plays a vital role in improving enterprise RGI.
Originality/value
This study expands the literature on leadership and innovation by constructing a framework of “DL-GOI-RGI” and exploring the transmission of GOI and the boundary effect of DT and TSG. The study used fs QCA and SEM to better understand the statistical associations and the set relations between the conjunctions and conditions.

Damage of engineering structures is a nonlinear evolutionary process that spans across both material and structural levels, from mesoscale to macroscale. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive review of damage analysis methods at both the material and structural levels.
Design/methodology/approach
This study provides an overview of multiscale damage analysis of engineering structures, including its definition and significance. Current status of damage analysis at both material and structural levels is investigated, by reviewing damage models and prediction methods from single-scale to multiscale perspectives. The discussion of prediction methods includes both model-based simulation approaches and data-driven techniques, emphasizing their roles and applications. Finally, summarize the main findings and discuss potential future research directions in this field.
Findings
In the material level, damage research primarily focuses on the degradation of material properties at the macroscale using continuum damage mechanics (CDM). In contrast, at the mesoscale, damage research involves analyzing material behavior in the meso-structural domain, focusing on defects like microcracks and void growth. In structural-level damage analysis, the macroscale is typically divided into component and structural scales. The component scale examines damage progression in individual structural elements, such as beams and columns, often using detailed finite element or mesoscale models. The structural scale evaluates the global behavior of the entire structure, typically using simplified models like beam or shell elements.
Originality/value
To achieve realistic simulations, it is essential to include as many mesoscale details as possible. However, this results in significant computational demands. To balance accuracy and efficiency, multiscale methods are employed. These methods are categorized into hierarchical approaches, where different scales are processed sequentially, and concurrent approaches, where multiple scales are solved simultaneously to capture complex interactions across scales.

Abstract
Purpose
This systematic literature review investigates the phenomenon of board multiple directorships and its implications for corporate governance and organisational performance.
Design/methodology/approach
The study adopts a systematic approach, which involves identifying and analysing relevant research papers on board multiple directorships. This study synthesises the latest research findings to gain insights into the determinants and consequences of multiple directorships. The sample literature was collected from the Scopus database from year 2000 till 2023.
Findings
The review reveals several key findings. Firstly, multiple directorships have both positive and negative implications for corporate governance. They can bring value by providing directors access to valuable information and resources from different companies, enhancing board functions and improving firm performance. However, there is a concern that overworked directors may not effectively fulfil their fiduciary responsibilities on any board, compromising their monitoring abilities.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by comprehensively reviewing multiple board directorships research and their impact on organisations. This study synthesises the latest research findings and offers valuable insights into the determinants and consequences of this practice. Also, this study highlights the need for effective corporate governance practices that balance multiple directorships’ benefits and potential drawbacks. The study also identifies research themes and suggests potential areas for future research, contributing to the advancement of understanding in board multiple directorships.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to address the growing issue of microplastic contamination, particularly in freshwater bodies, and to summarize recent research on this topic. This study aims to discuss the origins, distribution and occurrence of microplastics, as well as the methods used for their extraction and characterization, with a special focus on India due to its significant population and highly contaminated water bodies.
Design/methodology/approach
The approach of this study involves a comprehensive review of publications from recent years that focus on microplastic contamination in freshwater systems. The review includes an analysis of the sources of microplastics, their distribution and occurrence in freshwater environments and the techniques used for sampling and characterizing these pollutants. Also, one experiment was carried out to understand the hygroscopic behavior of polyamides; in which one circular disc of polyamide (PA6) was dipped into a freshwater container for 12 months.
Findings
The findings highlight the widespread presence of microplastics in freshwater bodies worldwide, emphasizing the severe threat they pose to living species. This study also identifies India as a critical area of concern due to its large population and heavily polluted freshwater bodies. In addition, the impact of microplastic pollution on aquatic creatures and other living organisms is briefly discussed. The results of the experiment demonstrated how hydrophilic and hygroscopic polymers can be converted into microparticles, which subsequently spread into water bodies and contribute to pollution.
Originality/value
This study provides a valuable synthesis of the current state of research on microplastic contamination in freshwater systems, offering insights into the origins and distribution of these pollutants. It also underscores the significance of addressing microplastic pollution in India, thereby contributing to the global understanding of the issue and informing future research and policy initiatives.
