Abstract
Purpose
This study explores the dual impact of AI-driven productivity tools on employee performance, well-being and sustainability, focusing on the key metrics of productivity, innovation, stress, job satisfaction and sustainability.
Design/methodology/approach
The study uses econometric models and simulated data and applies difference-in-differences and regression analysis to assess the effects of AI tools on 1,000 simulated employees.
Findings
AI tools enhance productivity but offer limited support for innovation. They increase stress and reduce job satisfaction while improving governance outcomes and transparency.
Research limitations/implications
Using simulated data may limit real-world applicability. Future studies should validate findings with empirical data regarding long-term sustainability impacts.
Practical implications
A balanced AI strategy combining training and well-being support is vital to mitigate stress and sustain employee satisfaction during AI integration.
Social implications
Monitoring employee well-being and sustainability metrics is fundamental to ensure responsible AI adoption.
Originality/value
This research provides new insights into balancing AI’s productivity benefits with its psychological and ethical implications, offering guidelines for responsible implementation.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aimed to examine the impact of learning organization (LO) on job satisfaction and individual performance in Vietnamese enterprises. The study further explores the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between learning organization and employee performance.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from 653 employees from various types of organizations in Vietnam. Structural equation modeling was implemented to test the hypotheses.
Findings
The results revealed that the proposed research model was supported. Results indicated that LOs positively influenced employees’ job satisfaction and the broader range of their individual performance. In addition, employees’ job satisfaction motivated them to achieve higher performance levels. The study also found a mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between LO and employee performance. The results underscore the importance of implementing an LO culture for individual outcomes such as job satisfaction and employee performance in the Vietnamese cultural context, which is based on socialism and Confucianism.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to examine the relationships among LO, job satisfaction and individual employee performance in the Vietnamese context. The results offer a deeper understanding of the LO concept in the Vietnamese cultural context and highlight the cultural impact on the LO concept and its effects. The results suggest how the LO concept is applied in the Vietnamese context.

Abstract
Purpose
The study aims to examine the association between virtual communication effectiveness (VCE), leadership effectiveness (LE) and the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in the post-pandemic era.
Design/methodology/approach
A survey was conducted among 305 employees in the Indian IT sector using an online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using reliability, validity and moderated regression analysis.
Findings
The findings reveal that VCE is a significant predictor of LE. EI plays a significant moderating role between VCE and LE.
Originality/value
This study establishes the role of EI in pre-empting LE. Furthermore, it results in the advancement of improved tools for the selection, training and development of leadership talent. Research on virtual communication (VC) and EI enhances our understanding of effective leadership. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the present research is one of the first to link and standardize various practices of VC, and EI to increase LE in the post-pandemic era.
