Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the crucial role of information quality in the construction industry and its impact on organizational performance. The research objectives are threefold: (1) to identify and analyse key factors influencing information quality in construction organizations; (2) to examine how information quality affects strategic decision-making processes in the industry; and (3) to assess the extent to which information quality impacts overall organizational performance.
Design/methodology/approach
The study commences by gathering data from databases such as Scopus, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, and Emerald Insight. The collected data is then analysed using ATLAS.ti 9 to construct a model linking information quality with strategic decision-making and organization performance.
Findings
The literature review analysis reveals the complex interplay between information quality, strategic decision-making and organizational performance in the construction industry. Key findings include identifying critical factors influencing information quality, such as technological infrastructure, organizational processes and personnel skills. The study highlights the necessity for organizations to recognize potential challenges in information management and formulate strategies to overcome them.
Originality/value
This research makes a significant contribution to the field by providing a comprehensive framework for understanding the role of information quality in strategic decision-making within the construction industry. The study’s originality lies in its systematic approach to synthesizing existing literature and developing visual representations of complex relationships between information quality, decision-making processes and organizational performance.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to examine the younger generations’ experiential consumption of foreign contemporary music online (i.e. digital music streaming services) by generation and gender in the US market.
Design/methodology/approach
The author proposes a sequential experiential consumption model by applying Jacoby’s refined stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) theory to better understand the experiential sequences in foreign music consumption among young generations in the US market. The proposed model, using structural equation modeling (SEM), examines a cognitive permeable role and a hierarchical affective mediating role. Also, moderating roles of generation and gender are simultaneously tested in overall and specific causal relationships.
Findings
The refined S-O-R framework is superior to a linear one in better understanding young consumers’ online experiential foreign music consumption behavior. Moreover, hierarchical sequenced affective organismic behavior is crucial to enhance young consumers’ online music consumption experiences to regulate subsequent behavioral responses. Furthermore, gender differences but no generational differences exist in the experiential consumption process among young consumers. Nevertheless, the strength of S-O-R factors affecting experiential consumption seems idiosyncratic simultaneously in gender and generation.
Practical implications
The study suggests foreign music streaming services boost profitability by focusing on young consumers' psychological ownership and tailored experiences, encouraging a shift from freemium to premium subscriptions. Also, the findings recommend adopting phygital experiences using technologies like AR, VR and MR to enhance engagement and create unique, emotionally resonant experiences for young consumers, thus fostering a more profitable business model.
Originality/value
The authors address under-researched topics relevant to young generations by applying Jacoby’s refined S-O-R framework to foreign music consumption through online streaming. This approach delves into a lesser-explored consumer behavior framework, highlighting young generations’ musical trends. The model reveals cognitive and affective roles, offering advantages over traditional linear S-O-R models. It also uniquely incorporates the moderating effects of generation and gender in music consumption studies, addressing a gap in music-related studies.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to revisit the conventional wisdom about a key contribution [i.e. strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT) analysis] in the field of strategic management. The societal context and the role of academics, consultants and executives is taken into account in the emergence of SWOT analysis during the 1960–1980 period as a pivotal development within the broader context of the satisfactory, opportunities, faults, threats (SOFT) approach. The authors report on both the content and the approach, so that other scholars seeking to invigorate indigenous theories and/or underreported strategy practices will thrive.
Design/methodology/approach
Applying a historiographic approach, the authors introduce an evidence-based methodology for interpreting historical sources. This methodology incorporates source criticism, triangulation and hermeneutical interpretation, drawing upon insights from robust evidence through three iterative stages.
Findings
The underreporting of the SOFT approach/SWOT analysis can be attributed to several factors, including strategy tools being integrated into planning frameworks rather than being published as standalone materials; restricted circulation of crucial long-range planning service/theory and practice of planning reports due to copyright limitations; restricted access to the Stanford Research Institute Planning Library in California; and the enduring popularity of SOFT and SWOT variations, driven in part by their memorable acronyms.
Originality
In the spirit of a renaissance in strategic planning research, the authors unveil novel theoretical and social connections in the emergence of SWOT analysis by combining evidence from both theory and practice and delving into previously unexplored areas.
Research implications
Caution is advised for scholars who examine the discrete time frame of 1960–1980 through mere bibliometric techniques. This study underscores the risks associated with gathering incomplete and/or inaccurate data, emphasizing the importance of triangulating evidence beyond scholarly databases. The paradigm shift of strategic management research due to the advent of large language models poses new challenges and the risk of conserving and perpetuating academic urban legends, myths and lies if training data is not adequately curated.

Abstract
Digital political advertising has been essentially unregulated for a long time. More recently, a number of notable scandals, such as the Facebook–Cambridge Analytica affair and the external meddling in Brexit and the 2016 US elections, have compelled the European Union to take regulatory action. After discussing the growing role of political advertising for political parties and candidates and the major challenges this implies in terms of electoral integrity, this chapter explores the genesis, significance as well as the limitations of the Transparency and Targeting of Political Advertising (TTPA) Regulation. Introduced in 2024, the TTPA establishes a common regulatory framework across EU Member States ensuring minimum transparency requirements that digital platforms must comply with, including disclosure about the origins, parameters and funders of political advertisements directed to European citizens. While emphasising the important step forward of this Regulation for the countering of information manipulation and foreign interference in elections and the relevant shift in the EU relationships with platform services, we point to a number of problems that remain unaddressed, including the manipulative and deceptive use of political content, hate speech, misinformation and political polarisation.

Abstract
Purpose
Health is a human right and a fundamental building block of sustainable development, economic prosperity and poverty reduction. To realize people’s right to health, evaluating the situation of the right and its determinants is necessary. This paper aims to analyze Iran’s conduct in realizing its population’s right to health.
Design/methodology/approach
A qualitative case study design involving a structured review of relevant laws, policy documents, reports and academic literature was undertaken. The data were collected from electronic databases and the official Web pages of the United Nations (UN) and Iran’s Government and analyzed by a framework suggested by the UN.
Findings
Iran’s law and policies intend to combat health inequalities and to provide an adequate standard of living for everyone, particularly disadvantaged groups and individuals. However, not all laws and policies protecting disadvantaged groups are adequately implemented. There are disparities in health status and access to health care among different socio-economic groups. International economic sanctions and government policies decreased people’s ability to access the necessities of life including health care. Moreover, social determinants of health, such as cultural beliefs regarding women’s rights have not been addressed sufficiently in the country’s laws.
Research limitations/implications
This study includes a broad range of subjects and provides an overview of the health-care system of Iran. However, more detail is needed to describe every aspect of the right to health. It was not feasible to address them all in this paper and needs more research. In addition, as with the majority of qualitative studies, the design of the current study is subject to limitations. Firstly, the research quality of narrative reviews is dependent on the researcher’ skills and more easily can be influenced by his/her personal biases. Second, the rigor is more difficult to maintain, assess and demonstrate. Nevertheless, narrative studies often complement quantitative studies and are informative.
Originality/value
To fulfill the right to health, Iran should improve affordability and quality of care and the situation of the determinants of health. The gaps in people’s access to health care need to be identified, and all necessary means and scarce resources be allocated to remove access barriers and to improve the situation of disadvantaged people. The adoption of relatively low-cost targeted programs, the proper management of resources and the prevention of unnecessary costs are suggested.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate the accuracy and creativeness of ChatGPT in the domain of quantitative aptitude.
Design/methodology/approach
ChatGPT 3.5 is used to generate multiple-choice quantitative aptitude questions. A total of 1,100 questions were created across 11 different areas of quantitative aptitude. A dataset is obtained through ChatGPT prompts. Human specialists assessed the accuracy and creativity of these questions. Every question is evaluated and classified into six distinct grades to indicate its level of accuracy. Likewise, the procedure of assessing each question includes providing a grade that showcases originality. Subsequently, we generate hypotheses to evaluate the accuracy and creativity of ChatGPT’s response. The hypotheses are evaluated through the application of statistical methods, such as the one-tailed test.
Findings
Our study indicates that ChatGPT exhibits a moderate degree of accuracy when solving mathematical aptitude questions. Our work shows that, for instance, when prompted to generate 10 questions regarding a specific quantitative aptitude topic, ChatGPT is unlikely to produce more than five questions that are accurate in terms of solution and explanation, and it seldom generates more than three new questions. This study also compares the accuracy of ChatGPT in answering questions related to quantitative aptitude with that of questions related to medical science. This study illustrates that ChatGPT is less precise in its responses to quantitative aptitude questions than it is in medical science questions. However, including it as a tool for producing a wide range of quantitative aptitude questions poses a significant problem in terms of creativeness.
Research limitations/implications
The study is focused on a topic set that encompasses approximately 50% of the topics studied within the realm of quantitative aptitudes. In addition, the inclusion of human experience in verifying the correctness of ChatGPT may potentially undermine the study’s accuracy.
Practical implications
Our study shows that ChatGPT demonstrates poor originality and quantitative correctness, thereby limiting its teaching value. This is particularly worrying for students, as ChatGPT does not assist in assessing an answer, making human verification necessary.
Originality/value
Our research will be valuable for individuals residing in countries such as India who are actively preparing for competitive examinations to secure employment in diverse government and private enterprises and are utilising the ChatGPT platform for this purpose.

Abstract
Purpose
Although the interest in firm media sentiment has been increasing, the impact of news media sentiments on consumers’ perception of firms’ offerings and, subsequently, their sales remain unknown. This study aims to address this research question in this study. Furthermore, the authors consider the role of two boundary conditions, i.e., offerings’ similarity and offerings’ service ratio, that moderate the main relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
Using a comprehensive and novel data set of over 900 firms between 2009 and 2019 from multiple sources, this study addresses the research questions. The authors use a fixed effects panel regression model to estimate the model.
Findings
A firm’s news media sentiments can influence consumers’ perception of the corporate brand, thereby driving sales growth. This study finds that when a firm’s offerings are not differentiated from its competitors, news media sentiments become more important and so does when a firm offers more services than a product.
Research limitations/implications
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first to assess customers’ responses as manifested in the sales growth of a firm’s offerings, using both primary and secondary data and analysis.
Practical implications
The findings provide actionable insights to managers by identifying specific offerings-related attributes – similarity and service ratio – where media sentiments play a critical role in influencing sales growth.
Originality/value
While existing studies in marketing have primarily considered user-generated social media sentiments, this study departs from this literature by investigating earned media sentiments through traditional media outlets such as newspapers and business magazines, which have rarely been studied in marketing.

Abstract
Purpose
This study explores whether and how archival records can address the social oppression faced by Chinese immigrants through community engagement, with the aim of fostering transformative change within marginalized communities.
Design/methodology/approach
Guided by Paulo Freire’s concepts of generative themes and dialogue, this community-based qualitative case study engaged seven participants in a workshop that used archival materials about Chinese immigration history. Participants interacted with three groups of materials and had collective discussions. They reflected on their perceptions of the history and stories documented in the archival materials and further shared insights on the fairness of current immigration systems, as well as potential changes necessary for a more equitable immigration system.
Findings
The archival records activated dialogues in which participants expressed disappointment with historical and ongoing exclusion by the government. They critiqued social beliefs such as the expectation that Asians must conform to white normativity to be accepted in the United States. Participants explored the challenges facing the community, reflected on how their experiences resonate with the archival stories and identified the “cyclical oppression” of the Chinese immigrant community. I propose this process as “dialogue-based archives,” which engages marginalized community members in conversations through archival records, fostering mutual respect, active listening, sharing of lived experiences and critical reflection on oppression.
Originality/value
Dialogue-based archives effectively engage marginalized communities. It also constitutes rigorous scholarship, contributing to the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) by challenging the dominant white-elitist and Euro-Anglo-centric discourse within the field and highlighting the value of archival engagement work in addressing the needs of marginalized communities. It also specifically contributes to critical archival studies by providing grassroots insights into collection building and description.
