Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the relationship link between societal and governmental support factors, individuals’ self-efficacy, experience and outcome expectations in framing nascent social entrepreneurs' intentions to establish e-government service centres in rural areas by using the integrated model approach of Hockert’s (2017) social entrepreneurial intentions (SEI) theoretical model and social cognitive career theory (SCCT).
Design/methodology/approach
Using a convenient sampling strategy, 615 survey samples were obtained through a questionnaire from e-governance-based social entrepreneurs in Karnataka. The primary data and theorised model are analysed and tested using partial least squares structural equation modelling.
Findings
This research findings indicate that appointing agency support, perceived societal support (PSS), government support, social entrepreneurial self-efficacy (SE-SE), public image, prior experience and outcome expectations substantially predicted SEI to establish an e-government service centre. Hence, prior experience and PSS were insignificant regarding direct influence outcome expectations towards establishing e-governance social ventures.
Originality/value
The present research study initially explored the social entrepreneur's intention to provide e-public services to people in rural and distant areas to fulfil social needs. Furthermore, this research revealed that new antecedents of government support, appointing agency support and public image influence the social entrepreneur's intention to establish e-governance service centres. These research findings evaluate the contribution of the government, appointing agencies, social entrepreneurs and citizens to make a framework for the inclination of e-government service centres to create a social impact in rural and remote areas.

Abstract
Purpose
This study has applied the model by Baldwin and Ford (1988) to empirically examine the influence of select trainee characteristics (i.e. instrumentality and motivation to transfer) and transfer design as a training design factor on the transfer of training to work. It also investigates the possible mediating role of the motivation to transfer and the moderating role of social support at work (comprising supervisor and peer support) in the transfer mechanism.
Design/methodology/approach
A self-reported questionnaire was used to survey employees working in a power major in India. In the first stage, we selected one geographical region of the organization using judgmental sampling. In the next stage, executives and non-executives from all five coal-based power stations in that region were selected using systematic sampling. Responses from 411 such employees were analyzed using PROCESS Macro in SPSS. A mediation analysis was done using Model 4, while the moderated mediation hypotheses were tested using Model 7 in PROCESS Macro.
Findings
Instrumentality and transfer design were found to impact training transfer through motivation to transfer. While supervisor support moderated the mediational impact of both predictors through transfer motivation, peer support moderated only the impact of instrumentality on transfer through transfer motivation.
Originality/value
This is the first empirical work that has integrated important predictors at trainee, training design, and work environment levels based on the perspective of factors an organization can control. Besides, establishing supervisor and peer support as contextual factors adds to the celebrated model by Baldwin and Ford.

Purpose: To investigate the key technologies facilitating the transition towards Industry 5.0 and analysing the contributions of Nvidia, a prominent leader in this field, to these technological advancements.
Significance of the study: Technology companies such as Nvidia play a critical role in this transformation through their innovative solutions. This study addresses the need to understand this evolving landscape and the significant impact of the Nvidia.
Methodology: This study is a qualitative approach that examines the existing literature and secondary case studies pertaining to Industry 5.0, and Nvidia. This study examines Nvidia’s high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), the digital twin platform Omniverse, and the humanoid robot technology development platform, Isaac.
Findings: The next generation of GPUs with the Blackwell architecture is expected to further advance the development of large language models. The Nvidia Omniverse platform contributes significantly to the development of digital twins, a crucial technology for Industry 5.0. The Nvidia Isaac platform focuses on the development of humanoid robot technology, which is a key component of Industry 5.0. Utilizing realistic simulations with Isaac Sim, imitating human behavior with GR00T, and leveraging the high-performance processing power of Jetson Thor, the platform facilitates the creation of robots capable of safe and effective human–robot collaboration. Nvidia has emerged as a leader in the artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and gaming sectors because of its innovative and agile company culture.
Practical implications: Companies can leverage Nvidia’s technological solutions to optimize production processes and enhance both efficiency and sustainability. The human–machine collaboration emphasized by Industry 5.0 will necessitate the reshaping of workforce skillsets and operational approaches.

Abstract
Purpose
This study conducts a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis to explore the overarching trends, growth trajectories, key themes, significant contributors and scope of research concerning the interplay between foreign capital inflows, institutional quality and the dynamics of financial development.
Design/methodology/approach
Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines have been followed to identify the articles. A thorough literature review was then conducted, supplemented by a bibliometric analysis using the Biblioshiny software within the RStudio platform.
Findings
Empirical research consistently demonstrates a strong correlation between foreign capital inflows, institutional quality and financial development. The bibliometric analysis indicates a 5.56% annual growth rate in this area, alongside a steady increase in scientific output. Regarding country-specific scientific production, China, Malaysia and the United States rank among the world’s top 10 most prolific nations. Thematic map analysis further reveals that the keywords “institutional quality,” “financial development” and “foreign direct investment” are categorized as “basic themes,” highlighting their significant potential for future research.
Research limitations/implications
The analysis relies on Biblioshiny software; future studies could incorporate other methods such as cluster analysis, citation and co-citation analysis using VOSviewer. Additionally, a more comprehensive meta-analysis covering a longer time span can be considered for future research.
Practical implications
This study shall assist researchers in identifying recent advancements in the components of foreign capital and their direct and indirect effects on financial development through the lens of institutional quality. It provides valuable insights for scholars, aiding in recognizing emerging trends and patterns in the field. Additionally, it highlights key contributors, including leading authors, journals and countries, thereby fostering global academic collaboration.
Social implications
This research offers policymakers a clear framework for formulating policies to effectively leverage foreign capital inflows for financial development. It also emphasizes the importance of a strong institutional environment in the relationship between foreign capital inflow and financial market development.
Originality/value
The study uncovers key gaps in the multidimensional aspects of financial development and the heterogeneity of foreign direct investment (FDI), thereby deepening scholars' understanding of trends, growth rates and potential future directions in the field.

Abstract
Purpose
Supply chains need to be made viable in this volatile and competitive market, which could be possible through digitalization. This study is an attempt to explore the role of Industry 4.0, smart supply chain, supply chain agility and supply chain resilience on sustainable business performance from the lens of natural resource-based view.
Design/methodology/approach
The study tests the proposed model using a covariance-based structural equation modelling and further investigates the ranking of each construct using the artificial neural networks approach in AMOS and SPSS respectively. A total of 234 respondents selected using purposive sampling aided in capturing the industry practices across supply chains in the UK. The full collinearity test was carried out to study the common method bias and the content validity was carried out using the item content validity index and scale content validity index. The convergent and discriminant validity of the constructs and mediation study was carried out in SPSS and AMOS V.23.
Findings
The results are overtly inferring the significant impact of Industry 4.0 practices on creating smart and ultimately sustainable supply chains. A partial relationship is established between Industry 4.0 and supply chain agility through a smart supply chain. This work empirically reinstates the combined significance of green practices, Industry 4.0, smart supply chain, supply chain agility and supply chain resilience on sustainable business value. The study also uses the ANN approach to determine the relative importance of each significant variable found in SEM analysis. ANN determines the ranking among the significant variables, i.e. supply chain resilience > green practices > Industry 4.0> smart supply chain > supply chain agility presented in descending order.
Originality/value
This study is a novel attempt to establish the role of digitalization in SCs for attaining sustainable business value, providing empirical support to the mediating role of supply chain agility, supply chain resilience and smart supply chain and manifests a significant integrated framework. This work reinforces the integrated model that combines all the constructs dealt with in silos so far in prior literature.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the effects of layering sequence, aspect ratios, fiber orientation angles, loading types and boundary conditions on the buckling behavior of glass/carbon/hybrid fiber-reinforced epoxy laminated composites using the differential quadrature (DQ) approach.
Design/methodology/approach
In total, different hybrid combinations are considered separately for angle-ply, cross-ply and antisymmetric layup schemes. For this purpose, a DQ code is developed using MATLAB.
Findings
The results obtained from the study reveal that the lamination arrangements and varying loading conditions of the hybrid laminated structures have a significant effect on the buckling performance of these materials.
Originality/value
This is the first study to investigate how the critical buckling loads of glass fiber/epoxy and carbon fiber/epoxy laminated hybrid composite plates are influenced by fiber orientation angles, aspect ratios, stacking sequences, loading conditions and boundary conditions using the DQ method. This study contributes to the literature in this regard.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to identify the significant factors that influence the continuation intention (CI) to use a digital wallet in the regions with low technology infrastructure and among the consumers possessing low levels of digital and financial literacy.
Design/methodology/approach
Data for the study were collected from the rural parts of South India with 295 digital wallet users. Co-variance-based structural equation modelling (SEM) (CB-SEM) using maximum likelihood estimation method and Bayesian SEM (BSEM) approaches were executed to test the influence of independent variables on the dependent variable and to ensure the validation of the proposed hypothetical model.
Findings
The results showed that trust, incentives, technology satisfaction (TS), facilitating condition, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, habit and hedonic motivation significantly influenced the CI to use a digital wallet. In addition, incentives positively impact habit for the CI to use a digital wallet.
Research limitations/implications
The present study is based on the samples from the regions with low technology infrastructure and among the consumers possessing low levels of digital and financial literacy in the rural parts of South India, which limits the generalisation of results.
Practical implications
The results provide impetus to the government, digital wallet marketers and users regarding how the CI to use a digital wallet can be encouraged among the low-adoption regions.
Originality/value
This study remains unique as the assessment of CI to use a digital wallet was conducted in low-adoption regions (rural parts of India) in extending Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 with TS. A comparison of results arrived from CB-SEM with those of the BSEM ensures that the validation of the hypothetical model is found to be another major methodological contribution towards the consumer behaviour literature.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to compare the properties and performance of ordinary Portland cement-based self-compacting concrete (OPC-SCC) and pozzolanic-based SCC (pozzolanic-SCC) in concrete applications. The research employs a comparative analysis to examine the workability and strength characteristics of these two types of SCC.
Design/methodology/approach
This study involves analyzing and comparing the properties and performance of OPC-SCC and pozzolanic-SCC through a literature review of relevant studies and experiments. The key findings indicate that the use of pozzolanic materials in SCC, such as fly ash, silica fume and metakaolin, can enhance the sustainability and durability of the concrete. The research also reveals that the choice of steel fibers and polypropylene fibers can impact the fire performance and mechanical properties of SCC.
Findings
The findings indicate that the inclusion of supplementary cementitious materials enhances the workability, strength and fire resistance of SCC to a greater extent compared to the addition of steel and polypropylene fibers.
Practical implications
The practical implications of this research are significant for selecting and utilizing SCC in concrete applications.
Originality/value
The originality of this research lies in the comparative analysis of OPC-SCC and pozzolanic-SCC, considering their properties, performance and practical implications. This study evaluates the impact of cutting fluids on energy consumption and tool life in machining, focusing on sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact and improve efficiency. By comparing vegetable-based soyabean oil with mineral-based blasocut oil, the study assesses their effects on power usage and tool life.
Design/methodology/approach
This study introduces a novel approach by applying both response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural network (ANN) models to validate the performance of vegetable-based cutting fluids, specifically soyabean oil, in machining operations.
Findings
Results indicate that soyabean oil reduces energy use by 9% and extends tool life by 29% compared to blasocut oil, with strong alignment between model predictions and actual results.
Research limitations/implications
The findings, though specific to certain fluids and conditions, suggest that soyabean oil offers a viable eco-friendly alternative for machining processes.
Practical implications
Adoption of such fluids could lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduce dependency on mineral oils and benefit farmers by creating additional demand for vegetable oils.

Purpose
The host–guest molecules are often used in various fields and applications. This paper aims to discuss the role of host–guest complexes in the textile industry, focusing on calixarenes as a potential adsorbent for hazardous dyes. The paper begins with an introduction to nanotechnology and its many uses, including textiles.
Design/methodology/approach
The risks associated with the utilisation of dyes and its adverse effects on the environment are then also highlighted. This paper also discusses the structure and characteristics of calixarenes and their potential use as an adsorbent to extract toxic metals from aqueous solutions. The paper also explains the molecular structure of calixarenes, especially the ability of its upper and lower rims, which can be altered to yield derivatives with various selectivities for diverse guest ions and small molecules. In addition, the application of various host–guest molecules in the textiles industry to extract dyes also had been discussed.
Findings
In conclusion, the paper highlights the essential in establishing a systematic review on the significance of selective adsorbents, such as calixarenes, to isolate particular targets from diverse matrices in the textile industry.
