Abstract
Purpose
In today's dynamic and competitive business environment, organizations strive to foster innovation as a key driver of success. To achieve this, leaders play a critical role in promoting innovative work behavior among employees. This study is based on finding the effect of ambidextrous leadership on innovative work behavior with employee voice behavior as a mediator and employee moral identity as a moderator.
Design/methodology/approach
This study is conducted on Pakistan's hotel and restaurant industry. Drawing upon a sample of 410 valid responses from employees from various hotels, data is collected using self-report questionnaires.
Findings
The study revealed that ambidextrous leadership is positively related to innovative work behavior, and employee voice behavior mediated their relationship very well. However, ambidextrous leadership generates more positive and creative outcomes for the organization if it accompanies employee voice. Moreover, employees with a stronger moral identity are more likely to engage in voice behavior when they perceive ambidextrous leadership practices.
Practical implications
In Pakistan's hotel industry, developing leadership programs that focus on ambidextrous leadership, encouraging employee voice, and aligning with employees' moral values are key to fostering innovation. Organizations should cultivate a culture of openness, trust, and recognition, alongside implementing systems that reward innovative contributions. It's crucial to provide opportunities for skill development, decision-making participation, and a sense of ownership among employees. Moreover, providing necessary resources and supporting a culture that embraces experimentation and learning from failures are fundamental for sustained innovation.
Originality/value
By adopting ambidextrous leadership practices, leaders can stimulate employee voice behavior, which, in turn, contributes to the development of innovative work behavior. Furthermore, understanding the importance of employee moral identity can help leaders tailor their leadership approaches to create an ethical work environment that promotes employee engagement and innovation.

Abstract
Purpose
This research examines the influence of big data analytics (BDA) on the competitive performance of firms in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Focused on the linkages of IT-enabled dynamic capabilities, managerial support, data driven culture, environmental uncertainty and supply chain resilience, the study aims to evaluate the mechanisms through which BDA contributes to competitive advantage.
Design/methodology/approach
This research employs an empirical investigation to address questions regarding the influence of BDA on the competitive performance of the supply chain industry in the UAE. The research involved the distribution of a structured questionnaire to the employees (n = 400) across diverse supply chain units in the UAE. The proposed framework was evaluated through SPSS and AMOS. Additionally, the researchers utilized the Process Macro to reveal the mediating and moderating dynamics.
Findings
The study finding emphasizes the impact of BDA on both supply chain resilience and competitive performance with IT-enabled capabilities playing a mediating role. Furthermore, managerial support was found to positively moderate the relationship between BDA and IT-enabled capabilities.
Research limitations/implications
This study contributes to the improvisation of existing literature in the field providing an understanding of how study variables collectively influence competitive performance within the specific context of UAE firms.
Practical implications
The findings provide insights for industry practitioners, highlighting the strategic importance of integrating BDA into supply chain management to boost operational efficiency and sustain competitive performance.
Originality/value
The study findings provide opportunities for scholars as well as managers for optimizing their strategic developments to build sustainable competitive performance by processing data analytic processes, resilient activities and efficient managerial support.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the motivational drivers for knowledge sharing (KS) through the application of mobile social networking (MSN) and their influence on employee productivity in the Malaysian construction industry.
Design/methodology/approach
The data was collected by distributing a self-administered questionnaire among employees working in the construction industry. A total of 250 questionnaires were collected and analysed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. This study used a variety of analysis methodologies including correlation analysis, reliability and validity testing, as well as a structural model in evaluating the relationships between KS, motivational factors and influence on productivity.
Findings
The empirical results of this study reveal that utilitarian motivation is positively related to internal and external KS. Similarly, internal and external KS have a positive influence on productivity, while internal and external hedonic motivation does not show any significant relationship with productivity.
Research limitations/implications
Considering the paucity of evidence regarding the determinants of KS motivational drives on employee productivity in the Malaysian construction industry, this study enriches the social cognitive theory-based literature on KS.
Practical implications
This study provides some insights to the players in the construction industry in implementing the most appropriate KS promotion strategies that could potentially influence employee productivity. Organisations in the construction industry that place great emphasis on utilitarian motivation including competency, reward and incentives are more likely to have a better influence on KS and, in turn, positively impact employee productivity.
Originality/value
This study meaningfully contributes to enhancing the understanding of the motivational drivers for sharing knowledge on MSN and its influence on productivity. The findings of this study potentially assist construction practitioners in developing a holistic blueprint for managing their KS towards improving the overall productivity of their employees.

Abstract
Purpose
The current study focuses on the relationship between total quality management (TQM) and sustainable performance (SP) and examines how TQM practices can facilitate firms' achievement of sustainable performance. Knowledge management (KM), with its four dimensions, i.e. knowledge creation (KCR), knowledge acquisition (KAC), knowledge sharing (KSH) and knowledge application (KAP), is also an essential factor for organizations. Therefore, this study also focuses on the mediating role of KM in the relationship between TQM and sustainable performance.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used a survey method to collect data from the managers of 485 manufacturing SMEs working in five major industrial cities in Pakistan. Collected data were analyzed through PLS-SEM with the help of smart-PLS.
Findings
The study's findings reveal that TQM practices positively influence the environmental and economic sustainability of the firm. At the same time, there is no evidence that TQM practices positively affect the social sustainability of the firm. Results further elaborate that TQM practices significantly affect all four dimensions of KM. Moreover, KM positively affects the two dimensions of SP, i.e. economic and social sustainability, but surprisingly, the impact of KM on environmental sustainability is not found. Finally, results indicate the significant mediating role of KM between TQM and SP.
Originality/value
This study contributes to bridging research gaps in the literature and advances how TQM, directly and indirectly, helps firms improve sustainable performance via the mediating role of KM.

Abstract
Purpose
This research aims to propose a high-performance-based model of remote teaching where trained teachers (those who deliver lectures by using different tools i.e. Microsoft Team, Zoom, etc.) can get the desired results through artificial intelligence (AI) awareness, knowledge sharing and transformational leadership in the future.
Design/methodology/approach
This research is quantitative in nature and convenience sampling is followed to gather data from 307 trained faculty (those who deliver lectures by using different tools i.e. Microsoft Team, Zoom, learning management systems, etc.) from various universities of the federal capital territory (FCT) Islamabad and district Rawalpindi of Punjab province, Pakistan who worked online from home during novel corona lockdown. SmartPLS is used for data analysis and structural equation modeling is performed to test the suggested model.
Findings
Results revealed that AI awareness has a significant positive influence on knowledge sharing but exhibited a negative significant impact on teacher performance. Likewise, knowledge sharing acts as a partial mediator; however, transformational leadership moderates between remote working and knowledge sharing.
Originality/value
During the pandemic, the mode of instruction shifted from physical to online, generating several barriers for teachers who were used to on-campus teaching. This research presented an effective model for knowing the mechanism of possible and reliable implications at educational institutions of developing countries to get the desired outcomes of effective online teaching in calamity situations.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to examine how the organizational dimension of workplace friendships (WFs), which involves factors such as the opportunity for and prevalence of friendships, affects the knowledge management (KM) processes within public Islamic universities. These processes encompass knowledge generation, storage, sharing and application.
Design/methodology/approach
The study data were obtained through an extensive survey method as part of a cross-sectional investigation. A total of 280 responses were collected for the final analysis from faculty members affiliated with a public Islamic university in Mosul city, located in northern Iraq. The data were initially analyzed using SPSSv26, and PLS-SEM analysis was performed using SmartPLSv3.9. This validated the measures’ reliability and validity and tested the hypothesized relationships.
Findings
The analysis using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) confirms that all the proposed pathways are consistent with the conceptual model presented in this study. In particular, the organizational dimension of WFs, including the opportunities for and prevalence of friendships, has a positive and significant influence on the KM processes.
Practical implications
The empirical insights of this study hold significant value for policymakers, managerial professionals and academics in Islamic universities in developing countries. These insights can enhance their administrative and academic performance by offering guidance on effectively dealing with positive friendship behaviors and understanding their effect on KM processes.
Originality/value
The significance of this paper is underscored by the scarcity of literature investigating the influence of the organizational dimension of WF on KM processes, particularly within the Islamic higher education context. Therefore, this study presents a novel and distinct approach.
