Abstract
Purpose
Following the job demands-resources theory, this study investigates the role of female managers in enhancing employee well-being in terms of psychological health via workplace resources.
Design/methodology/approach
To accomplish this objective, we conducted a comprehensive literature review to identify key IPS. Subsequently, a fuzzy-based algorithm was employed to prioritize these skills. Following this, we developed an algorithm based on Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) to predict the quality of workers’ IC. The efficacy of the XGBoost model was assessed by applying it to three real-life construction projects.
Findings
Upon application of the model to the case studies, we made the following conclusions: (1) “Leadership Style,” “Listening,” “Team Building” and “Clarifying Expectations” emerged as significant skills and (2) the model accurately predicted workers’ IC quality in over 78% of the cases. This algorithm has the potential to preempt interpersonal conflicts, enhancing job-site productivity, team development and human resources management. Furthermore, it can guide construction managers in designing IPS training programs.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the existing knowledge by addressing the crucial connection between IPS and IC quality in construction projects. Additionally, our novel approach, integrating fuzzy logic and XGBoost, provides a valuable tool for IC prediction. By identifying significant IPS and offering predictive insights, this research facilitates improved communication and collaboration in the construction industry, ultimately enhancing project outcomes.

Abstract
In today's world, technology is at the forefront of the new global focus, and it is a key field of interest for countries striving to excellence. Integrating technology into the agricultural sector has the potential to significantly improve progress toward sustainable development goals. This study investigates how applying technology and sustainability to agriculture can influence women's roles in this sector in Jordan. We examine the impacts of technological implementation, including access to information, economic empowerment, skill development, and environmental impact, as well as the challenges such as financial barriers, limited land access, and cultural constraints. Our findings highlight the importance of the government and major organizations in facilitating the use of technology through training programs and financial support for farmers. We recommend implementing project ideas that promote technological advancement in agriculture, such as our proposed project “HASSAD,” which aims to increase technology adoption among farmers while also providing additional services. By supporting these initiatives, we can promote economic growth while also empowering women in agriculture, resulting in a more sustainable and inclusive agricultural sector.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to develop a conceptual framework that jointly considers Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors and organisational resilience (OR) components to ameliorate organisations' understanding of sustainability’s overall requirements and related decision-making processes.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper combines ESG and OR through a 3x3 conceptual matrix, where ESG factors are listed along the vertical axis and OR components along the horizontal axis. This results in nine quadrants, which have been read according to two arrangements: (1) static, looking at the specific characteristics of each single quadrant, and (2) dynamic, investigating the relationships between the different quadrants according to the system theory (ST) lens.
Findings
The integration between ESG and OR results in nine organisational typologies, each characterised by a specific focus: (1) green visioning, (2) eco ethos, (3) climate guard, (4) inclusive strategy, (5) empathy ethos, (6) community shield, (7) ethical blueprint, (8) integrity ethos and (9) compliance guard. These typologies and related focuses determine the different strategic options of organisations, the decision-making emphasis concerning ESG factors and OR components and the organisation’s behaviour concerning its internal and external environment. According to ST, the nine typologies interact with each other, emphasising the existence of interconnectedness, interdependence and cascading effects between ESG and OR.
Originality/value
The paper represents a unique attempt to interrelate ESG factors and OR components according to a ST lens, emphasising the dynamic nature of their interactions and organisations’ need for continuous adaptation and learning to make decisions that create sustainable long-term value.

Abstract
Purpose
While the adoption of accounting information systems (AIS) is crucial in developing countries owing to the rapidly changing business environment, the emerging factors in its successful implementation continue to be inconsistent. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to understand the emerging factors of underlying successful AIS implementation, with a specific focus on developing countries.
Design/methodology/approach
A total of 70 empirical studies from 2017 to 2024 were analysed using an SLR technique. Studies including the search term “accounting information systems” OR “AIS” AND “developing countries” in their titles, keywords or abstracts were retrieved from five digital databases. The articles were analysed and synthesised using thematic analysis.
Findings
The findings revealed six key themes: (1) AIS literacy, (2) automation in AIS, (3) cloud-based AIS, (4) cultural factors, (5) environmental factors and (6) mobile accessibility and 25 subthemes.
Practical implications
A comprehensive understanding of these gaps will enable academics, policymakers and AIS professionals to make well-informed decisions and enhance the efficacy and efficiency of AIS operations.
Originality/value
The thematic analysis highlights the theoretical gaps and exposes areas where the connection between factors may be inadequate to indicate future study avenues.

Abstract
Purpose
A large portion of the public building projects in Jordan suffers from sustainability performance issues. Therefore, this research aims to develop a hybrid procurement framework to enhance the implementation of BIM in the Jordanian public sector for better sustainable building performance. This study also aims to identify the influence of procurement factors on BIM adoption and usage in the public sector in Jordan and to provide a holistic picture of recent research on technology acceptance and adoption in the construction industry.
Design/methodology/approach
A qualitative approach was adopted using semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders (n = 12) in Jordan to explore procurement routes issues facing the adoption of BIM and to find proposed measures. Then, the findings of the interviews analysis using conventional content analysis and literature review were used based on a problem-solving approach to develop a hybrid conceptual procurement framework for BIM uptake to enhance the sustainability of building performance. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted to validate and refine the proposed conceptual procurement framework.
Findings
It was revealed that the deployment of unfavourable construction procurement approaches represents a major hurdle towards BIM implementation. Though essential for enhancing BIM implementation, it is revealed that a fundamental change from the common Design bid build (DBB) to more collaborative procurement approaches remains infeasible in view of the realities that govern the construction industry. Moreover, this study has found the key procurement approach challenges for effective BIM implementation.
Research limitations/implications
Research is limited to the public sector in Jordan and further qualitative and quantitative testing of the conceptual procurement framework is needed to adjust the framework before large-scale testing.
Originality/value
The developed conceptual procurement framework is the first of its kind and draws a set of procurement approach remedies for the Jordanian public sector to foster the implementation of BIM.

Purpose
Construction safety is a crucial aspect that has far-reaching impacts on economic development. But safety monitoring is often reliant on labor-based observations, which can be prone to errors and result in numerous fatalities annually. This study aims to address this issue by proposing a cloud-building information modeling (BIM)-based framework to provide real-time safety monitoring on construction sites to enhance safety practices and reduce fatalities.
Design/methodology/approach
This system integrates an automated safety tracking mobile app to detect hazardous locations on construction sites, a cloud-based BIM system for visualization of worker tracking on a virtual construction site and a Web interface to visualize and monitor site safety.
Findings
The study’s results indicate that implementing a comprehensive automated safety monitoring approach is feasible and suitable for general indoor construction site environments. Furthermore, the assessment of an advanced safety monitoring system has been successfully implemented, indicating its potential effectiveness in enhancing safety practices in construction sites.
Practical implications
By using this system, the construction industry can prevent accidents and fatalities, promote the adoption of new technologies and methods with minimal effort and cost and improve safety outcomes and productivity. This system can reduce workers’ compensation claims, insurance costs and legal penalties, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study represents the first attempt in Bangladesh to develop a mobile app-based technological solution aimed at reforming construction safety culture by using BIM technology. This has the potential to change the construction sector’s attitude toward accepting new technologies and cultures through its convenient choice of equipment.

Abstract
Purpose
This study conducts a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis to explore the overarching trends, growth trajectories, key themes, significant contributors and scope of research concerning the interplay between foreign capital inflows, institutional quality and the dynamics of financial development.
Design/methodology/approach
Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines have been followed to identify the articles. A thorough literature review was then conducted, supplemented by a bibliometric analysis using the Biblioshiny software within the RStudio platform.
Findings
Empirical research consistently demonstrates a strong correlation between foreign capital inflows, institutional quality and financial development. The bibliometric analysis indicates a 5.56% annual growth rate in this area, alongside a steady increase in scientific output. Regarding country-specific scientific production, China, Malaysia and the United States rank among the world’s top 10 most prolific nations. Thematic map analysis further reveals that the keywords “institutional quality,” “financial development” and “foreign direct investment” are categorized as “basic themes,” highlighting their significant potential for future research.
Research limitations/implications
The analysis relies on Biblioshiny software; future studies could incorporate other methods such as cluster analysis, citation and co-citation analysis using VOSviewer. Additionally, a more comprehensive meta-analysis covering a longer time span can be considered for future research.
Practical implications
This study shall assist researchers in identifying recent advancements in the components of foreign capital and their direct and indirect effects on financial development through the lens of institutional quality. It provides valuable insights for scholars, aiding in recognizing emerging trends and patterns in the field. Additionally, it highlights key contributors, including leading authors, journals and countries, thereby fostering global academic collaboration.
Social implications
This research offers policymakers a clear framework for formulating policies to effectively leverage foreign capital inflows for financial development. It also emphasizes the importance of a strong institutional environment in the relationship between foreign capital inflow and financial market development.
Originality/value
The study uncovers key gaps in the multidimensional aspects of financial development and the heterogeneity of foreign direct investment (FDI), thereby deepening scholars' understanding of trends, growth rates and potential future directions in the field.
