Abstract

Purpose

The study investigates the relationship between social presence dimensions and customer brand engagement (CBE) as well as the relation between customer brand engagement and purchase intention (PI) in the fashion retail metaverse with self-efficacy moderating between CBE and PI.

Design/methodology/approach

The data were gathered by conducting an online survey (n = 476) from young adults exposed to fashion retail metaverse platforms. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.

Findings

The findings discovered that social presence dimensions positively impact CBE, which substantially impacts the PI of young consumers in the fashion retail metaverse. The findings demonstrate that self-efficacy moderates the relationship between CBE and PI.

Research limitations/implications

This study uses cross-sectional data in the fashion retail metaverse for young consumers. Future studies can use longitudinal data in the context of other industries and demographic profiles to assess changing customer behavior.

Practical implications

This study implies that customer experiences can be enriched through social presence dimensions, helping brands adapt their offers to create more engaging and rewarding customer interactions. It offers insights for brand managers aiming to augment the relationship between CBE and PI.

Originality/value

The study uniquely explores the relationship between social presence dimensions and CBE within the fashion retail metaverse. It examines self-efficacy as a moderator between CBE and PI, providing fresh insights into consumer behavior in the fashion retail metaverse.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to explore the impact of FinTech adoption on small business sustainability and to understand how financial well-being acts as a mediator in this relationship. which is essential in fostering business sustainability in today’s dynamic business landscape.

Design/methodology/approach

A survey was conducted with an initial sample of 500 respondents, and subsequently, a final analysis was performed using a sample size of 321 respondents. Data was collected through a self-administered survey, and the hypothesized model was assessed using the Smart PLS analysis technique.

Findings

The findings revealed significant positive associations between Fintech adoption and small business sustainability, and financial well-being acts as a significant mediator in establishing this relationship. Financial well-being has a positive and significant impact on sustainability, with substantial and positive correlations with their respective elements.

Practical implications

Small businesses will realize the significance of financial well-being in their operations. This realization can motivate them to invest in digital tools such as payment systems and accounting software to streamline their operations and increase their resilience.

Originality/value

The results of this research can serve as a foundational framework for enhancing business sustainability in the Fintech sector, thereby facilitating the financial industry’s efforts to achieve economies of scale globally. Future research can investigate specific aspects, industries or regions deeper to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the study.

Abstract

Developing nations are starting to take centre stage and are becoming more conscious of their economic potential in the tourism sector. Earlier, these countries were largely left out of the tourist sector. Today, the foreign exchange reserves of these nations are mostly derived from tourism and a nation's balance of payments derived through tourism supports international trade and stabilizes the economy. The chapter adopts a case study method to evaluate the prospects of inclusive growth through socio economic well-being. In the dynamic and constantly evolving tourism industry, it is imperative to make the growth more inclusive so that there is a balanced approach to long term sustainable development. When it comes to using traditional skills and cultural heritage to participate in this economic paradigm, rural artisans face both opportunities and challenges as the global tourism landscape undergoes evolving transformations. The study commences by closely examining the current market obstacles that rural artisans in the tourism industry face, which encompass a range of issues such as shifting consumer preferences, market saturation and the aftermath of external shocks like pandemics. The chapter indicates major obstacles impeding the integration of rural artisans into the tourism value chain by means of a thorough empirical analysis. In order to overcome the obstacles, the study investigates inclusive growth and how it might act as a spur to improve the socio-economic circumstances of rural craftsmen. The findings in the chapter distil best practices that promote inclusivity, empower local communities and support sustainable tourism development by looking at successful case studies and policy interventions.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to systematically review the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the tourism industry. By integrating human–computer interaction, machine learning, big data and other relevant technologies, the study establishes a comprehensive research framework that explores the systematic connections between AI and various facets of tourism.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper conducts a keyword co-occurrence analysis of 4,048 articles related to AI in tourism. The analysis identifies and classifies dominant topics, which are further refined through thematic literature review and manual coding for detailed discussion.

Findings

The analysis reveals five main topics: AI’s impact on tourist experience, AI in tourism marketing and prediction, AI in destination management, AI’s role in tourism enterprises and AI integration in strategic and regulatory framework. Each topic is reviewed to construct an integrated discussion that maps the current landscape and suggests directions for future research.

Originality/value

This paper transcends the fragmented discourse commonly found in the literature by establishing a unified framework that not only enhances understanding of the existing methodologies, theories and applications of AI in tourism but also identifies critical areas for breakthroughs, aiming to inspire a more humane and sustainable integration of AI in the tourism industry.

研究目的

本文旨在系统回顾人工智能(AI)在旅游业中的应用。通过整合人机交互、机器学习、大数据和其他相关技术, 本研究建立了一个全面的研究框架, 探索人工智能与旅游业各方面之间的系统联系。
