Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to conduct a complete bibliometric analysis of published research to develop a solid roadmap for future research into developing young adults’ mental health and resilience and to further the body of knowledge and scientific advancement in this area.
Design/methodology/approach
A literature search using VOSviewer, through Web of Science, was conducted to identify young adult mental health and resilience studies. A total of 226 studies were identified between 1993 and the end of June 2022, as the number of published studies increased. Extracted data included citation, co-citation, keyword and co-word analyses.
Findings
This study evaluates the current knowledge structure of young adult mental health and resilience through co-citation analysis and discovers the directions and trends of popular topics in young adult mental health and resilience through co-word analysis. It suggests that legislators and physicians should aim to provide social support via screening and interventions, especially for young adults struggling with disruption in their social lives.
Originality/value
Using a bibliometric approach, the findings provide a robust roadmap for further investigation into young adult mental health and resilience evolution. This method will further advance the knowledge and progress of this field, as this research is the first attempt at doing so – to the best of the authors’ knowledge.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine the advancement of cultural transformation over time demands certain alterations in human perceptions. It also aims to examine the 21st century’s many radical changes in India, the constant legal battles to decriminalize homosexuality, and challenges to the rigid dichotomy between heterosexuality and homosexuality. Besides, it influences popular culture among the masses, which has turned out to create a more visible space for the lesbian community. In India, lesbian literature begins synchronously under the shades of women’s writing and feminism that wires new hopes for their identity.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper examines a primary text as Indian writer Abha Dawesar’s Babyji (2005). There comes the iconic work of Abha Dawesar’s Babyji (2005), which creates a turning point by introducing the life, inner conflict and turbulence of a teenage girl. In addition, a textual analysis of this novel brings forth an analysis of attributes such as sexuality, gender and the interplay of caste and class that meld lesbian childhood and adolescence. This paper also examines how a lesbian girl adapts to and negotiates her maturation amidst vivid social scenarios and cultural conditioning.
Findings
A few studies (Hidalgo, et al., 2013; Bem, 1989; Pyne, 2016) show many children have reached or crossed their teenage life without accurate or affirmative knowledge of sexuality and gender. Parents, teachers and even other intellectuals of the adult world fail to transfer their knowledge effectively to children. Definitely, the relevance of sex education is paramount, but more important is what implementation tactics should be used for the same cause. The point is that sex education should not be condensed into a certain gender or perpetuate parochial discrimination. It needs to adapt an age-appropriate curriculum for the cognitive and emotional development of the individuals. Considering these factors, understanding comprehensive sex education is what is most likely to find sustainable remedies for this matter. Gerald writes about a socialization process and gays and lesbians hiding their identity from family and society; a fear of rejection; there is a social gap in peer and family spheres. These fears prevent lesbian or gay young persons from fully developing their identities (1999). Rao and Mason tested a model derived from minority stress theory in which the perceived impact of Section 377 increases depressive symptoms of sexual minorities by increasing concealment stress, leading to a diminished sense of belonging. Because of their minority status, they are more vulnerable to and have a higher prevalence of mental illness than heterosexual individuals (2018).
Originality/value
Babyji has created a discourse to perpetuate normativity and gives importance to the mental health of the excluded lesbian group. It opens a door to studying teenage groups’ issues and their challenges to understanding social and mental issues regarding their identity. A study on this untouched area is required to highlight their issues and mental health problems. This research is an initiative step to create and provide a platform to raise awareness in society.

Purpose
Based on the stimuli-organism-response (SOR) theory, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate the impact of consumers’ engagement in pro-environment activities on social media on consumer green consumption behaviour, and explore the explicatory mechanism and boundary conditions for the relationship between them.
Design/methodology/approach
This study collected data from 312 Chinese consumers by using the research platform Credamo, a Chinese online survey platform. A structural equation model and hierarchical regression modelling were used to analyse the data.
Findings
Consumers’ engagement in pro-environmental activities on social media has a positive influence on environmental awareness that positively affects green consumption behaviour. Environmental awareness plays a mediating role in the relationship between consumers’ engagement in pro-environmental activities on social media and green consumption behaviour. Furthermore, green intrinsic motivation and green extrinsic motivation play positive and negative regulating roles respectively in the relationship between environmental awareness and green consumption behaviour.
Originality/value
This study enriches the research on the antecedent variables of green consumption behaviour. At the same time, it also expands the research on the outcome variables of the impact of engagement in environmental protection activities on people’s subsequent behaviour, deepens and expands the research on green consumption behaviour and its applicable boundaries, offering both theoretical insights and practical implications for enterprise marketing strategies and government management.

This chapter explores how virtual reality (VR) distinguishes itself in terms of immersion within the field of video games. Central to this inquiry is whether VR represents a revolutionary new gaming paradigm or merely the latest medium falling short of gamers’ expectations. The discussion begins by examining the concepts of immersion and presence, highlighting their overlapping properties and how VR's capability to merge perspective and interaction enhances these experiences. Immersion involves sensory stimulation, narrative attachment and player agency within virtual environments (VEs), while presence is defined as the sensation of inhabiting a virtual universe. The chapter addresses VEs, diegesis and fictional worlds, building on the narratology and ludology debate. It chapter assesses the roles of environmental storytelling and the world inhabiting effect in games, particularly open-world role-playing games set in fantasy and science fiction universes. These games offer players active participation in narrative construction, enhancing immersion. Furthermore, the analysis compares third-person and first-person points of view (POV) in flat-screen games with VR's unique integration of POV, point of action and point of interaction. VR's intuitive interface fosters a profound emotional response and a heightened sense of presence, breaking the fourth wall and blurring the line between gameworld and reality. This chapter concludes that while VR offers a distinct form of representation, it does not constitute a new gaming paradigm yet. However, advancements in the medium may soon bring VR closer to the immersive experiences envisioned by Janet Murray's holodeck.

Purpose
This study aims to analyse cellulose fibres extracted from the pseudo-stems of Cymbopogon citratus and evaluate their properties in non-woven fabric production.
Design/methodology/approach
The water retting method was used for fibre extraction, and intrinsic fibre qualities were examined to assess their suitability for textile applications. A thermal bonding technique, using a hot press machine and polylactic acid powder as a binder, was applied for non-woven fabric development.
Findings
The retted fibres had an average length of 156 mm and a fineness value of 5.73 tex. The fibre’s tenacity and elongation values were 1.33 gf/denier and 12.78%, respectively. Fourier transform infrared analysis confirmed the presence of major cellulose components. The fibre’s crystallinity and friction coefficient were 50% and 0.3, respectively. C. citratus fibre exhibited hygroscopic characteristics with a moisture regain of 10.65%. Experimental non-woven fabrics (70% C. citratus fibre, 30% polylactic acid powder) demonstrated consistent weight and thickness, with variations in tensile strength. Moisture regain values for non-woven fabrics were approximately 7.6%.
Originality/value
The features of C. citratus fibre, obtained with the water retting process, exhibited suitability for textile applications. Three experimental non-woven fabrics comprising of C. citratus fibre and polylactic acid powder were produced with three different pressing temperatures. The tensile strength properties of these fabrics were influenced by pressing temperature.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to examine the experiences of diverse interprofessional participants in an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) working group with a common interest in EDI in one of the largest pediatric teaching hospitals in Canada and how the impacts of this experience extend outside of the group.
Design/methodology/approach
This qualitative research utilized an inductive approach in line with the Gioia methodology (Gioia et al., 2013) to explore individual experiences as participants in an EDI working group. Seven group members were interviewed in-depth and engaged in storytelling and journaling to capture their experiences and perspectives. The perspectives of six members are reflected here, representing diversity across ethnicity, professions and subjective experiences, with a common interest in working together to improve EDI knowledge dissemination, training and practice in a healthcare setting in Canada.
Findings
Retrospective research activities facilitated a co-constructed account. The analysis reveals that EDI group participation is a positive learning experience for individuals described as thriving in their careers. Analysis of collaborative perspectives emphasizes how collective identity cultivates vitality in the EDI group environment. EDI group members exhibit agency as proponents of social change, navigating and negotiating institutional norms in varying professional spaces.
Research limitations/implications
The participants included members of an EDI working group in healthcare. Six perspectives are reflected here. Implications for personal experience and career development in organizations are discussed.
Originality/value
This study contributes to understanding how participating in specific interest groups, such as a group focused on EDI, informs personal and career development. It also contributes to our understanding of intrinsic motivation, as evidenced among volunteers in this healthcare setting. Our study also depicts an environment of vitality and learning and that collective thriving can be produced and may have extra-role implications.

Purpose
The purpose of this research is to examine the role of anticipation as a source of well-being in extended service contexts involving constraints on one’s agency (e.g. aged care). In these service contexts, consumers have limited ownership over their time usage and foci of anticipation, which affects their well-being.
Design/methodology/approach
Semi-structured interviews (n = 35) were conducted with members of the aged care ecosystem (residents, family and staff). Two separate aged care service models were investigated as they typically reflect different levels of agency/constraint: retirement villages and residential aged care facilities.
Findings
Results indicate that the subjective passage of time is influenced by one’s foci of anticipation. Having regular foci of anticipation both at a micro- and macro-level can generate well-being benefits for recipients. The importance of restabilization and building positive curves to counteract potential negative implications was identified.
Originality/value
This research is the first service study to investigate the concept of anticipation and subjective time perception as key components of one’s well-being in extended service encounters. We propose a novel conceptual model that combines micro- and macro-level foci into an iterative package to mitigate the after-effects of anticipation. We also demonstrate how Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) (good health for well-being) can be addressed through service research.

Purpose
Based on self-determination theory, the paper examines the employee’s innovative behaviour in a remote-working context. It explores the relationship between e-skill self-efficacy (ESSE) in developing innovative behaviour (IB) to stay up with the rising rate of change through the mediating mechanism of employee resilience (ER) and considering organisational support (OS) as a potential moderator in these relationships.
Design/methodology/approach
The study adopted empirical research tested on 298 remote workers from the Indian IT and Education industry. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) via Partial Least Squares (PLS) is the statistical methodology used.
Findings
The results identified that ER partially mediates the relationship between ESSE and IB. Further, for the direct effects, it was found that ESSE directly impacts ER and IB. Intriguingly, the moderating role adds depth to our understanding of predicting nuanced conditions under which ESSE and ER influence IB.
Originality/value
Due to organisational significance, IB is gaining increasing attention from scholars. There is a dearth of knowledge on how innovative behaviour can be stimulated at the individual level, despite the rising interest of academicians. Hence, this study bridges the gap and intends to analyse the theoretical model linking ESSE and IB mediated by ER and moderated by OS conducive to the future of remote work. Further, the findings add knowledge to the literature on contemporary remote working. It aids in designing, adopting and implementing policies and practices for the organisations that have (or will move) to remote and hybrid work settings.

Purpose
This study addresses the lack of exploration of whether posting luxury products purchased on social media contributes to a favorable impression of oneself. It uncovers the underlying mechanisms shaping observers’ attitudes toward account holders sharing luxury posts. By examining the motive attribution processes triggered by such posts, particularly intrinsic and extrinsic motives, this study clarifies the dynamics of luxury posts on social media, addressing inconsistencies in the literature regarding responses to luxury brand users.
Design/methodology/approach
To test the hypotheses, a one-factor between-subjects experimental design involving 400 South Korean participants with social media accounts was employed. Participants in each condition recalled their experiences of encountering either luxury or non-luxury posts on social media and completed several measures, including attitudes toward the account holder.
Findings
The results indicate that luxury posts on social media positively influence attitudes toward account holders through intrinsic motive attribution but have a negative impact through extrinsic motive attribution. The study revealed that observers with lower materialistic values were more prone to infer the motives behind posting luxury products.
Originality/value
This study introduces motive attribution as a crucial mechanism for understanding the impact of luxury consumption on social media. Exploring the intrinsic and extrinsic motives inferred from luxury posts provides nuanced insights into how these posts shape observers’ evaluations of account holders. This study’s identification of distinct routes offers valuable perspectives for fashion marketing researchers and marketers.
