Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to critically examine the existing literature on workplace mindfulness and suggest positive organizational behavior (POB) scholarship as a suitable domain to understand the scientific and secular nature of mindfulness.
Design/methodology/approach
This conceptual paper is based on the critical analysis of the literature on POB and contemporary mindfulness at work. This paper highlights the limitations of workplace mindfulness in terms of its research and practice. Then, the limitations of workplace mindfulness are analyzed in relation to POB scholarship to suggest a way forward for research and practice.
Findings
The findings imply that contemporary mindfulness meets the inclusion criteria of psychological capital and thus it can be adopted and investigated in the workplace using the POB scholarship.
Practical implications
It suggests implications for research and practice by considering mindfulness as a psychological capital construct in the workplace context.
Originality/value
Mindfulness is an interesting topic for organizational researchers, and many organizations are adopting mindfulness to improve their workplace functioning. In recent years, scholars have highlighted potential ethical issues with the adoption of the spiritual and religious nature of mindfulness for workplace benefits. In this regard, the understanding of the scientific and secular nature of mindfulness is limited in organizational literature. This paper advances the knowledge of the literature on contemporary mindfulness and POB and argues the importance of the inclusion of mindfulness in psychological capital.

Abstract
Purpose
This research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolution and trends in psychological capital (PsyCap) research and related issues.
Design/methodology/approach
This research uses bibliometric analysis. A total of 2,244 journal articles were extracted from the Scopus database using relevant keywords, covering the period from 1997 to 2023. The data analysis was conducted utilizing VOSviewer software, Microsoft Excel, and an online text analysis tool.
Findings
There is a rapid rise in the quantity of PsyCap publications, especially from 2017, with significant contribution of research from Chinese scholars with 577 articles in the period 2019–2023. The antecedents of PsyCap have a stagnation of leadership-related topics and increased focus on social support and perceived organizational support. The attention has been specifically directed toward well-being and mental health, with special emphasis on work engagement, job satisfaction, and job performance.
Research limitations/implications
The exclusion of certain publications in this research may overlook emerging trends. Thus, future research endeavors should adopt a multifaceted approach that combines bibliometric analysis with qualitative and quantitative methods to glean comprehensive insights into PsyCap research.
Originality/value
PsyCap research is growing rapidly, with more publications in the last three years than in all the previous years combined. This study, updating data until the end of 2023, provides the most up-to-date insights on research trends in PsyCap to aid scholars in discerning suitable avenues for their research endeavors.

Abstract
Purpose
Today’s competitive business world presents unanticipated challenges to enterprises worldwide. So, the well-being of the employees may be a sustained competitive edge for corporations in improving employee performance. Positive psychology served as the foundation for this study, investigating the interplay between employee well-being and task performance by incorporating organizational-specific factors like organizational virtuousness (OV) and individual-specific factors such as Psychological Capital (PsyCap).
Design/methodology/approach
In total, 639 dyadic responses were gathered from the banking sector, encompassing employees in both private and public banks in India, along with their immediate supervisors. The hypotheses were subsequently examined by applying Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).
Findings
OV and PsyCap are considerably associated with the well-being of employees and task performance, according to the findings. Employee well-being mediates the relationships between the perceptions of Organizational Virtuousness (OV) and task performance, as well as between PsyCap and task performance.
Research limitations/implications
The intense competition and series of scandals in Indian banks urge the introduction of some behavioral precautionary measures. Banks need to understand and intervene in positive organizational behavior and help the employees build strong PsyCap to enhance their well-being and task performance to gain a competitive edge.
Originality/value
The present study integrated Positive Organizational Behavior (POB) and Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS) to enhance work performance.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper explores the direct and indirect effects of family emotional, social and organizational support on Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) through psychological capital (Psy.Cap).
Design/methodology/approach
Selected by conducting stratified random sampling techniques, 397 employees completed a questionnaire. We used structural equation modeling and multi-group testing by Smart-PLS3 to analyze the data.
Findings
Findings reveal that all sources of social-emotional support, including family, supervisor and co-worker support, positively affect Psy.Cap. Moreover, Psy.Cap mediates the effect of family, co-workers and supervisors' emotional support on IWB. The multi-group analysis indicates that all relationships in the model are significant for both groups of males and females; however, there are no significant differences in the link between organizational support and psychological capital, as well as family and co-worker support and innovative work behavior between males and females. The study's results demonstrate the significantly higher impact of family emotional support – Psy.Cap and supervisor support on IWB amongst females compared to their male counterparts.
Originality/value
The implications of this research highlight the importance of considering affective factors on employees’ IWB, as well as the differences between genders in this regard.
