Abstract
Over the past 20 years, entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) have emerged as a significant research field, inspiring several scholars to provide valuable contributions. The chapter aims to map the current state of literature by highlighting the most prominent research strands and the main theoretical lenses employed in the research field. By carrying out a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis, the study examines articles published over a period of 27 years. The time frame from 1996 to 2023 offers an extensive outlook of the field’s evolution and current trends, resulting in the identification of five research strands and different future research avenues. From the analysis of prior research works, this study provides an in-depth examination of the complex nature of EEs. The results hold theoretical and practical implications. From the scholars’ point of view, they offer future research directions to move the current level of knowledge forward. From the entrepreneurs’ perspective, they provide valuable insights to address ongoing challenges and catch new opportunities within the dynamic panorama of EEs. Therefore, the insights are poised to drive future research, inform policymakers, and enhance business strategies aimed at fostering resilient EEs. In other words, the purpose is to provide readers with a well-rounded understanding over the state of the literature on EEs and the research strands that deserve further exploration.

Abstract
Purpose
There is a dearth of research that investigates the impact of national culture on budgeting and management indexes in the public sector across developing countries. Limited studies in accounting and management have explained the role of national culture in shaping organisational and individual values. It is posited that national cultural variables impact budget transparency and performance management. This study contributes to the literature by examining these relations in 16 developing countries.
Design/methodology/approach
Adopting an unbalanced timing framework, the current paper seeks to fulfill this gap and applies four cultural dimensions from the GLOBE study (House et al., 2004) as explanatory variables to investigate whether national culture is associated with budget transparency and performance management or not, particularly in the context of developing countries. The paper uses budget transparency as the first dependent variable, based on the OECD database from Qi and Mensah (2011), along with performance management as the second dependent variable, from the BTI Project (2016), according to the leadership's political performance management.
Findings
Generally, the empirical findings reveal a minimal relation among GLOBE cultural variables with budget transparency and performance management. Particularly, the empirical findings indicate that only performance orientation has a significant relation with budget transparency and performance management.
Research limitations/implications
The findings of this paper suggest that any plan to improve a nation's budget transparency should consider the links between budgeting, performance management and the culture of those that run them.
Originality/value
The formal adoption of new methods by performance management may not be enough without accompanying efforts to transform performance orientation as an index of national culture.

Abstract
Purpose
Nurturing the social identity approach, encompassing social identity theory and self-categorisation theory, this study aims to unravel the process of entrepreneurial identity construction among communitarians. It seeks to uncover the psychological mechanisms through which entrepreneurs categorise themselves as communitarians, highlighting the importance of community salience, trust and engagement.
Design/methodology/approach
This quantitative study comprises a sample consisting of 253 entrepreneurs. This research presents a sequential mediation model, drawing on salience, trust and engagement as antecedents of social entrepreneurial identity. By analysing the step-by-step mediation process, the research offers a nuanced understanding of how these community dynamics contribute to shaping entrepreneurial identity.
Findings
Entrepreneurs deeply connected to their communities do not naturally identify as communitarians; rather, it is the trust they build and the engagement they foster that shape their entrepreneurial identity. Communal bonds are not merely a backdrop for entrepreneurship but a driving force that moulds identity and action. This study evidenced that the salience of community positively influences community trust and engagement, which, in turn, enhances the development of entrepreneurial identity as communitarians. This underscores the role of social dynamics in shaping entrepreneurial attitudes, beliefs and behaviours.
Originality/value
This research confers a deeper understanding of how entrepreneurs construct and enact their identities, shedding light on the dynamic interplay between social context, shaping attitudes, cognition and behaviours. Exploring entrepreneurial identity among communitarians offers new insights into how social dynamics shape entrepreneurial actions. The study’s value extends to practical applications, offering guidance for policymakers and community leaders in fostering supportive environments that enhance entrepreneurship through greater community engagement and trust.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to improve the air movement operations planning heuristic in the literature to generate better solutions in a shorter time period.
Design/methodology/approach
Through a rigorous design of experiments (DOEs), we make significant heuristic improvements by evaluating alternative modular methodologies and tuning heuristic parameters for two scenarios. This includes a new approach to considering refueling operations.
Findings
We find the fine-tuned heuristic averages a 33% objective improvement and 70% reduction in computation time over the heuristic with original parameters for one of the scenarios. Additionally, we analyze the heuristic's quality of solution over time.
Research limitations/implications
Further analysis is required to generalize heuristic settings, which would require significant access to operational data or a portfolio of scenarios of interest.
Practical implications
Tuned heuristic parameters reduce the computation time from hours to minutes. This also makes it practically feasible to adjust parameters in the objective function to generate multiple courses of action (COAs) for a given instance.
Originality/value
This research provides novel vehicle assignment and routing heuristic improvement alternatives and demonstrates a DOEs-based heuristic tuning procedure.

Purpose
This study aims to investigate the effects of three dimensions of ChatGPT strategic value – organization support (OS), managerial productivity (IM) and decision aids (DA) – on the business sustainability (BS) of Malaysian public universities.
Design/methodology/approach
A quantitative methodology was adopted for this study to examine the relationships between ChatGPT strategic value and the BS of Malaysian public universities.
Findings
The study found that two dimensions of ChatGPT strategic value, namely, OS and IM, influence BS, whereas DA do not.
Research limitations/implications
To the best of the author’s knowledge, this study is the first to address the relationship between ChatGPT strategic value and BS in a specific context – Malaysian public universities – providing new contributions to theory by extending the literature on the topic.
Practical implications
The findings are expected to guide universities in Malaysia in leveraging ChatGPT strategic value for enhancing BS.
Originality/value
To the best of the author’s knowledge, this empirical study is the first in the literature to examine the relationships between ChatGPT strategic value and BS in the education sector. Supported by an original conceptual model, the insights provided should extend the literature dedicated to ChatGPT strategic value and BS in the context of a South Asian economy.

Design/methodology/approach
Prior research suggests that information can significantly influence judgment and decision-making. This paper aims to provide guidance on the characteristics of information disseminated on stock exchange websites and demonstrate the value of these platforms in informing and educating cyber-investors. Based on an exploratory study, the author proposes that information should be examined through three dimensions: nature, support and source. These dimensions are crucial in shaping the behavioral learning of cyber-investors. The study results include a tool for enhancing financial literacy via stock exchange websites and a framework for effectively managing stock market information.
Findings
This study identifies potential areas where improvements can be made by stock exchange Web designers and asset management platforms, particularly life insurance websites. Based on our results and to have a successful and attractive website for cyber-investors, designers must pay close attention to the layout of the website, its navigability, structure, colors and general ergonomics. A good match between these elements and the needs of potential investors will improve the conditions for finding relevant information on stock market websites. Furthermore, ease of access to information contributes to greater satisfaction and loyalty. This finding is in line with Eltkhtash (2013) and Syaeid (2019) who highlight the importance of ease of access to the site.
Originality/value
The exploratory study analyzes information available on four French stock exchange websites: Boursorama, Zonebourse, Abcbourse and Boursier.com. The study offers a set of knowledge that allows cyber-investors to make effective decisions using financial sources. This helps the consultation of stock exchange websites and enables to target the relevant information which provides a more accurate assessment of the evolution of financial assets. Based on our analysis, it appears that investors are more interested in certain criteria at the expense of other information.
