Abstract
Purpose
Natural extracts produced with Annona squamosa and Moringa oleifera leaves through the methanol-based solvent were coated on 100% cotton and 80%:20% polyester/cotton blends to improve the functional properties such as antimicrobial activity, wicking, stiffness and crease recovery of the fabric using an eco-friendly 1,2,3,4-butane tetracarboxylic acid (BTCA) crosslinking agent.
Design/methodology/approach
In this study, 100% cotton and 80:20% Polyester/Cotton fabrics with surface densities of 113.5 g/m2 and 101 g/m2 were treated BTCA. Eight different samples were produced by padding through the natural extracts. The FTIR investigation was performed on all the fabric samples. These coated fabrics were studied for their antimicrobial activity, wicking, stiffness and crease recovery properties.
Findings
It was found that the BTCA cross-linked fabrics showed higher antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Similarly, the percentage crease recovery angle was higher for the Annona squamosa coated sample than for Moringa Oleifera leaf extract in both cotton and polyester cotton blend samples. Furthermore, no significant variation in stiffness values was discovered between the control samples of cotton and polyester cotton blend and its treatment one. It was interesting to note that treating the fabrics with cross-linker showed improved vertical wicking properties, which were closer to control fabric values. The study confirms that crosslinking the fabrics with BTCA has improved the functional properties of the fabrics. The zone of inhibition values of BTCA cross-linked moringa methanolic leaves extract coated cotton and polyester cotton blend were 6 to 6.5 cm, which was more than 50% higher than non-BTCA cross-linked fabric, and BTCA cross-linker has improved the vertical wicking properties.
Research limitations/implications
The outcome of this study will help to gain a better understanding of BTCA cross-linkers for improving the functional coating on textile substrates.

Abstract
Purpose
Drawing on dual process theory as the overarching framework, this study investigates how different types of incidental vocabulary learning yield different performance, repetition, and continuance intention outcomes and uncovers the underlying mechanism.
Design/methodology/approach
We identify four popular types of incidental learning: traditional, a murder mystery game, noneducational live streaming, and VTuber. We propose that the underlying mechanism is the mediating role of perceived novelty as heuristic processing, and effort and performance expectancy as systematic processing. We conduct a between-subject experiment with four groups for the four types of incidental learning. From a total of 220 subjects, 55 valid responses were collected from each group. Analysis of variance and a partial least squares structural equation model are employed to examine the differences and mechanism.
Findings
The results show that noneducational live streaming performs significantly best for all three outcomes. The mechanism test demonstrates that perceived novelty and performance expectancy play significantly positive mediating roles, whereas effort expectancy has a null mediating effect.
Originality/value
The research provides both theoretical and practical implications.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to draw lessons from the financial technology (FinTech) ecosystem literature through a systematic literature review.
Design/methodology/approach
This study systematically studied a sample of 134 articles from the Scopus database to assess the pattern of research development within the scope of the FinTech ecosystem over the last 15 years (2008–2023).
Findings
The results obtained indicated that the current research focus leads to several aspects: digital technology and financial inclusion, FinTech and customer behavior, FinTech ecosystem, business model, as well as aspects of governance and regulation. In the effort to develop Islamic FinTech, some aspects that might be targeted include aspects of business development and the Islamic FinTech ecosystem in general, extending financial inclusion to governance and managerial implementation of Islamic FinTech itself.
Research limitations/implications
This research has limitations because it did not focus on the study of more specialized sectors, such as insurance or microfinance institutions, in adopting FinTech, requiring the use of other specifications of institutions in addition to Islamic banking.
Practical implications
This research has substantial theoretical implications in mapping the intellectual structure of Islamic FinTech research, which has been underexplored by previous researchers, as well as providing essential information about which sectors should be prioritized to encourage inclusiveness and overall performance of financial institutions.
Originality/value
This research explores more deeply with a comprehensive approach so that it becomes a pioneer in the study of FinTech ecosystem literature for the development of Islamic FinTech.

Abstract
Purpose
The effect of spinning has been studied and analysed for different projectile shapes such as ogive, blunt, cylindrical and conical by using numerical simulations.
Design/methodology/approach
Projectile shape is one of the important parameters in the penetration mechanism. The present study deals with the failure mechanisms and ballistic evaluation for different nose-shaped projectiles undergoing normal impact with spinning. Materials characterization has been made by Johnson–Cook strength and failure models, and LS-DYNA simulations are used to analyse the impact of steel projectiles on an Al 7075-T651 target at different impact velocities under normal impact conditions. The experimental results from the literature are used to validate the model. Based on the residual velocity values, the Recht-Ipson model has been curve-fitted and approximate ballistic limit velocity has been evaluated. The approximated ballistic limit velocity is found to be 3.4% higher than the experimental results and compared well with the experimental results. Subsequently, the validated model conditions are used to study and analyse the effect of spinning for different nose-shaped projectiles undergoing normal impact conditions.
Findings
The ductile hole failure is observed for the ogive nose projectile, petals are formed and fragmented for the conical projectile, and plugging is observed for cylindrical projectiles. A Recht-Ipson curve is presented for each spinning condition for each projectile shape and the ballistic limit has been evaluated for each condition.
Originality/value
The proposed research outputs are original and innovative and, have a lot of importance in defence applications, particularly in arms and ammunition.

Abstract
Purpose
Central banks globally are actively investigating the issuance of central bank digital currencies, a digital form of fiat money. In this light, this study aims to explore and empirically validate the factors that enable or inhibit user behavioral intentions to adopt the digital rupee in India.
Design/methodology/approach
The study employed dual-factor theory (DFT) to capture the users’ perceptions of both enablers and inhibitors of the digital rupee. The authors gathered survey data from 351 individuals in India through online questionnaires. The authors used partial least squares structural equation modeling and multigroup analysis (MGA) to evaluate the proposed conceptual model.
Findings
The findings reveal that enablers such as perceived government support, trialability and similarity positively influence users’ attitudes toward the digital rupee. In contrast, inhibitors such as usage, value and risk barriers increase users’ resistance. Attitude has a significant positive impact on the intention to use the digital rupee, while resistance significantly reduces the intention to adopt it. MGA results highlight the importance of gender and income status in understanding intention to use the digital rupee.
Originality/value
By applying DFT, the study identifies a set of enablers and inhibitors that influence the behavioral intention to use the digital rupee in India. It provides actionable insights for governments and central bankers to devise effective policies, design considerations and targeted interventions, ensuring a sustainable environment for the successful implementation of the digital rupee.

The findings indicate a dearth of research by scholars and academicians in luxury, counterfeit and masstige, especially when there is a surge of the upper middle class in India. Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to compare the mission statements of Indian and Singaporean firms in the healthcare sector, and define the main components of Indian and Singaporean mission statements.
Design/methodology/approach
The study was based on a network analytic approach and content analysis. The research was performed on 200 companies (100 Indian companies and 100 Singaporean companies). For each company, we searched for a mission statement published in the company website. Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) in Python programming language was utilized to obtain the differences in the components of mission statements between Indian and Singaporean firms.
Findings
The study results indicate a similarity and variation between Indian and Singaporean mission statements. Both countries are more concerned about patients, service, community, quality, and healthcare in their mission statements, but Indian mission statements emphasize quality, affordable price, and technology more than Singaporean firms. In contrast, Singaporean mission statements tend to highlight innovation and company value. This research will assist strategic managers in identifying the mission statement components and choosing the right strategy for the organization.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the literature and ethos theory by identifying and distinguishing the paramount differences between the Indian and Singaporean mission statement components in the healthcare sector.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to present and evaluate a novel analytical model to predict the structural properties of parts fabricated by fused filament fabrication (FFF) along any non-orthogonal direction.
Design/methodology/approach
A new analytical model to estimate the ultimate tensile stress (UTS) and elastic modulus (E) of polylactic acid (PLA)-FFF parts fabricated in any non-orthogonal build orientation, is proposed. The new model is based on an ellipsoid, two angles that define the orientation with respect to the build axes, the infill value and the structural properties along the build axes. The proposed model is evaluated by comparing the UTS and E properties predicted by this model, with the results obtained from experimental tensile tests on PLA-FFF specimens manufactured using variable infill values and non-orthogonal build orientations.
Findings
The proposed model is able to predict with good precision the structural properties of PLA-FFF parts along any direction and infill value.
Research limitations/implications
Although the study and results are limited to the UTS and E tensile properties of PLA-FFF components, the model may be extended to other materials or similar additive manufacturing processes.
Practical implications
The new proposed model is able to determine the structural properties of FFF components in any direction, so it can be used during the design process of FFF parts, reducing the need for experimental tests and speeding up the product development process.
Originality/value
Existing models to predict the structural properties of FFF components are limited to orthogonal build orientations (X, Y and Z); however, the new proposed model is able to predict the tensile properties in any direction and infill value. In addition, a new set of experimental data about the structural behaviour of PLA-FFF parts along non-orthogonal build orientations is provided, extending the existing results in the literature.

Abstract
Purpose
This research aims to ascertain the various operational maturity challenges faced by the online food ordering and delivery enterprises (OFODE), their nature and their interactive relationships. In particular, this paper aims to (a) identify the most relevant operational maturity challenges faced by the OFODE during the COVID-19 lockdown in Oman, (b) explore and establish any likely structural relationship among these challenges and (c) put them into logical clusters.
Design/methodology/approach
Experts helped to reduce the 18 initially identified maturity challenges to 13 most pressing ones. Mutual relationships, dominance of interactions and their classifications were explored using fuzzy interpretive structural modeling (FISM) and fuzzy MICMAC analysis.
Findings
The study of situation-specific operational maturity challenges convinced the authors to propose a distinct FISM model that depicts the relationship among these challenges. Keeping commissions and fees reasonable emerges as the challenge which all other challenges seemingly culminate into. One of the most important situation-specific challenges (i.e. customer confidence about infection free delivery) emerges as a linkage challenge which aggravates as well as is aggravated by certain challenges.
Research limitations/implications
Besides enriching literature, the proposed model has implications for practitioners particularly when the similar lethal waves are experienced anywhere. The number of respondents, subjective approach, specific context as well as the geographical area coverage are the key limitations.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first known scientific effort which attempts to model the operational maturity challenges faced by the OFODE during COVID-19 lockdown period. The authors used the FISM modeling approach to forge these interrelated challenges into a structural model.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to assess the collective impact of social media engagement and anxiety due to COVID-19 on telemedicine adoption intentions with other constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) concerning anxiety linked to COVID-19 and the influence of privacy concerns on TAM constructs. These constructs encompass the perception of ease of use, perceived usefulness, one’s attitude toward telemedicine and the intention to utilize telemedicine.
Design/methodology/approach
A total of 178 comprehensive responses were gathered over a six-month period from residents in Mumbai, India, to examine the proposed model. The data was analyzed using software tools, including SPSS version 23 and IBM AMOS 21, to compute factor loadings, assess model fit, estimate path relationships and conduct hypothesis testing.
Findings
Privacy concerns with telemedicine usage had a significant negative impact on behavioral engagement (B = −0.20, SE = 0.08, p < 0.05) and positively impacted affective engagement (B = 0.25, SE = 0.06, p < 0.01). Similarly, anxiety due to COVID-19 had a negative impact on the perceived usefulness of telemedicine (B = −0.10, SE = 0.03, p < 0.05).
Research limitations/implications
This research addresses a void in the existing literature by merging the TAM and the Social Media engagement theory. This study reaffirms the impact of past and relevant experiences, privacy concerns and COVID-19-induced anxiety on various components of TAM, thus expanding and enriching the TAM model.
Practical implications
Healthcare administrators should implement strategies to alleviate privacy-related apprehensions associated with telemedicine platforms. Additionally, they should promote existing users to create and disseminate positive content to mitigate COVID-19-induced anxiety and foster meaningful engagement, thereby enhancing the willingness to adopt telemedicine.
Social implications
Providers and promoters of telemedicine platforms and services may lean toward employing digital marketing campaigns that rely on emotional persuasion, including tapping into the fear factor to boost subscription and service sales. Such practices raise ethical questions, underscoring the need for well-defined advertising standards to govern the marketing of these products.
Originality/value
This article is among the relatively rare studies that document the favorable influence of emotional engagement on the intention to utilize telemedicine, underscoring the significant role of emotions in shaping telemedicine adoption Intentions.
