Abstract
Purpose
This study has aimed to thoroughly assess user sentiments and perceptions regarding the National Library of India (NLI). It has attempted to provide significant insights into user satisfaction by examining its strengths and shortcomings across key categories including collection, environment, facilities, location, management and staff. The study has contributed to the understanding of the factors influencing the attributes of libraries, facilitating improvements in services and enhancing the overall user experience.
Design/methodology/approach
This study employed a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess user sentiments towards the NLI. Using Google Maps reviews, the study utilized web scraping, content analysis and sentiment analysis to categorize reviews as positive, negative or neutral, providing insights into user experiences and an in-depth analysis of the views and opinions of the NLI.
Findings
The study involved sentiment analysis and content analysis of 818 Google Maps reviews to assess user satisfaction with the NLI. The results demonstrate 624 reviews as positive sentiments, 70 instances pinpointed specific negative concerns, primarily related to staff behavior and certain facilities, and 124 neutral reviews suggested mixed viewpoints among users. This analysis highlights the critical role of attributes such as collection quality, environment and facilities in shaping user perceptions, emphasizing the need for focused improvements based on user feedback. The study revealed six attributes, namely collection, environment, facilities, location, management and staff that influence the user perception.
Research limitations/implications
This study is focused solely on Google Maps reviews. Hence, the results cannot be generalized to all online platforms. Reliance on online reviews may not fully capture the views of all the library users. Additionally, the scope of the study is limited to English-language comments, potentially overlooking valuable insights from non-English-language reviews.
Practical implications
This study provides valuable insights for the NLI to enhance user satisfaction by addressing the specific concerns raised in online reviews. The findings offer actionable guidance for library management to refine services and maintain favorable public perceptions.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the field by providing a comprehensive analysis of user sentiment through sentiment and content analysis of online reviews, offering unique insights into the NLI’s public perception. The identification of key strengths and weaknesses adds practical value to library management for refining services. The originality of this study lies in its unique approach to evaluating user experiences, which guides future research and improvement efforts in library services.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to enhance the resilience of foamed concrete (FC) against carbonation and water absorption (WA) by integrating microorganisms, specifically Aspergillus iizukae EAN605.
Design/methodology/approach
The focus was on understanding how variables such as microorganism concentration, concrete density and water-to-cement (w/c) ratio affect these properties. Optimal results were observed under specific conditions—FC density set at 1800 kg/m³, a w/c ratio of 0.5 and an Aspergillus iizukae EAN605 concentration of 0.5 g/L—resulting in significant reductions in carbonation and WA compared to standard FC.
Findings
It is observed that fungi not only fill pores with calcium oxalate but also limit carbonation by consuming CO2 and block water penetration through their mycelial network. A central composite design within response surface methodology was employed for the experimental design, resulting in mathematical models that align closely with the empirical data. The models identified the most effective parameters for minimizing carbonation depth: FC density at 1970 kg/m³, fungal concentration at 0.585 g/L and w/c ratio at 0.470. Further regression analysis showed a high correlation between the experimental data and the predicted outcomes, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 92.29 and a model F-value of 16.45.
Originality/value
Statistical analysis highlighted the significant roles of density and fungal concentration in these reductions. Besides, scanning electron microscopy provided visual evidence of fungal-mediated mineral formation in FC, supporting the empirical findings. Overall, the study demonstrated the effective use of Aspergillus iizukae EAN605 in enhancing the durability of FC, marking an innovative stride in sustainable construction materials.

Abstract
Purpose
Leadership’s dark side has been on the rise, negatively affecting organizations. The phenomenon, however, is not as simple as it seems. Based on social exchange and conservation of resource theories, current research aims to explore the impact of psychological entitlement on despotic leadership, ultimately leading to instigated workplace incivility. Moreover, emotional exhaustion was tested as a mediator and Islamic work ethics as a moderator.
Design/methodology/approach
This study aims to examine the effect of dark side of leadership and for this, the survey approach was used to collect data from 402 bankers from Pakistan’s twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi).
Findings
The results showed that psychological entitlement leads to despotism and despotic leaders become a reason for instigated workplace incivility. Results also showed that emotional exhaustion mediated, and Islamic work ethics moderated the relationship.
Practical implications
Bankers have a demanding job which is further exacerbated by despotic leaders feeling psychologically entitled and instigating employees toward uncivil behaviors as they experience emotional exhaustion. Despotic leaders need to be dealt with to reduce instigated incivility and Islamic work ethics can also aid in improving employee behavior.
Originality/value
Literature available on both antecedents and effects of the leadership’s dark side is limited, and this study strives to contribute by extending the literature available on psychological entitlement, despotic leadership and instigated workplace incivility relationships.

Abstract
Purpose
The set of 2,509 documents related to the human-centric aspect of manufacturing were retrieved from Scopus database and systmatically analyzed. Using an unsupervised machine learning approach based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation we were able to identify latent topics related to human-centric aspect of Industry 5.0.
Design/methodology/approach
This study aims to create a scientific map of the human-centric aspect of manufacturing and thus provide a systematic framework for further research development of Industry 5.0.
Findings
In this study a 140 unique research topics were identified, 19 of which had sufficient research impact and research interest so that we could mark them as the most significant. In addition to the most significant topics, this study contains a detailed analysis of their development and points out their connections.
Originality/value
Industry 5.0 has three pillars – human-centric, sustainable, and resilient. The sustainable and resilient aspect of manufacturing has been the subject of many studies in the past. The human-centric aspect of such a systematic description and deep analysis of latent topics is currently just passing through.

Abstract
Purpose
Transportation-related pollution is expected to decrease when using battery electric cars. This will not only address energy and environmental issues but also promote reform and transformation in the zero-emission automotive industry. To craft policy interventions and promotional initiatives, manufacturers need to comprehend the techno-psychological perspectives of automotive users on the adoption of electric cars. Therefore, this study aims to test a “perception-attitude-intention” linking framework built upon the “Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use” (UTAUT) and analyze the behavioral intentions of existing automobile users to embrace battery electric cars.
Design/methodology/approach
The conceptual model tests the underlying direct paths, the mediation of attitudes and the moderating gender effects in predicting users’ attitudes and behavioral intentions to adopt battery electric cars using a techno-psychological approach from UTAUT. “Structural equation modeling” is used to analyze the model using the 361 valid online responses received from conventional car owners.
Findings
The results show that behavioral intentions are directly predicted by UTAUT measures with attitudes and indirectly through its mediation and gender moderation. The results support the “Perceptions-Attitudes-Intentions” linkage model that explains the phenomenon of electric car adoption. However, the mediating and moderating paths between facilitating conditions and intentions do not support the model. In addition, the research corroborates that men have a stronger effect than women on behavioral intentions to prefer battery electric cars.
Research limitations/implications
This work may assist manufacturers and regulators in developing marketing policies to encourage consumers’ adoption of battery electric cars and potentially improve their favorable perception of these vehicles.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the comprehension of how UTAUT constructs shape consumers’ attitudes and behavioral intentions regarding the adoption of battery cars equipped with emission-free technology. This study validates the grounded framework “perception-attitude-intention” linkage model, which also describes gender-wise differences toward electric car adoption in the backdrop of Indian sustainable transportation.

Purpose
This study aims to give a glimpse of the existing blockchain applications across industries and add to a complete knowledge of the blockchain’s properties.
Design/methodology/approach
Systematic literature review is used as the research strategy for this investigation and other aspects of the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses framework have been incorporated to create a scholarly publications evaluation of the blockchain-based application in the financial arena and its future. The research looks at 86 studies published between 2018 and 2022.
Findings
There has been a steady but noticeable increase in the study of blockchain’s potential in many application domains over the past few of years. This rising tendency illustrates the newness and potential of blockchain technology, as well as the increasing attention from academics. According to the findings, blockchain is an appropriate solution for processing transactions using cryptocurrencies; nevertheless, it still has significant technical issues and limits that require to be exploring and solving before it can be considered a viable option. It is therefore, necessary to have a high level of reliability for payments and confidentiality, in addition to maintaining the anonymity of nodes, to stop assaults and efforts to disrupt transactions in the blockchain.
Practical implications
This study has several important theoretical and practical implications. First, it adds to the body of knowledge on blockchain and Fintech, focusing on the transaction side. While much blockchain research has focused on how the technology may affect strategic choices, this study has shed light on its potential from the perspective of financial reporting. Second, by highlighting the importance of the demand for the prompt identification of losses, this work adds to the body of knowledge on the factors that influence transaction frauds involving paper money. Additionally, by establishing the link between transparency and virtual transactions, the author backs up the asymmetric responses of investors to different investment possibilities. It looks at the evolution of financial technology (Fintech) and shows how it can be used to take the advantage of unique opportunities.
Originality/value
The study is different and novel from the previously published literature on this topic mainly because of its comprehensiveness, as it revolves around all industrial and commercial areas. The three main lines of research have been outlined, namely, classifying the many blockchain-based innovations that will alter the financial landscape in many industries; identifying whether these industries are a good fit for blockchain’s wealth creation potential; and directing researchers by outlining prospective study pathways.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the relationship between trust in leader, organizational commitment (OC) and different dimensions of employee silence, namely, acquiescent silence (AS), quiescent silence (QS), prosocial silence (PSS) and opportunistic silence (OPS). Furthermore, this study examines the mediating role of OC in the relationship between trust in leader and the dimensions of employee silence. Moreover, this study also explores the moderating role of ethical leadership (EL) in the relationship between trust in leader and the dimensions of employee silence.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on an employee sample (n = 265) from the private banks in Southern India, a descriptive, nonexperimental analysis was conducted to study the relationship between trust in leader, OC and employee silence dimensions. A quantitative approach was adopted to the survey by distributing questionnaires to private-sector bank employees. A well-established measurement scale was used to collect data and the study results were analyzed using structural equation modellng to investigate the nature of the relationship considered in the study.
Findings
The results indicate that OC significantly influences various dimensions of employee silence, such as, QS and opportunistic and PSS behavior. However, the relationship between trust in a leader and all four dimensions of employee silence has produced insignificant results. Interestingly, the results indicate that OC mediates the relationship between trust in the leader and all the dimensions of employee silence (acquiescent, quiescent, prosocial and OPS). Moreover, EL significantly and negatively moderates the relationship between trust in a leader and AS. Also, EL significantly and negatively moderates the relationship between trust in a leader and OPS. The findings imply that when EL is high, trust in the leader helps reduce the employees’ AS and OPS behavior.
Practical implications
The results of this study have some important practical implications. First, it is understood from this study that the organization can address the issue of employee silent behavior when they focus on trust in the leader and the employees’ commitment. Second, as EL significantly moderates the relationship between trust in the leader and employee silence, organizations must groom immediate supervisors’ EL qualities to enhance the relationship of trust in the leader with employees’ acquiescence and OPS.
Social implications
By building trust in leaders and prioritizing ethical practices, the organizations can create a positive work environment that benefits all stakeholders and society. The findings of this research can be effectively leveraged to promote good governance and enhance public confidence in the banking sector. Ultimately, establishing trust in leadership boosts banks’ visibility and allows them to engage with wider audiences through online platforms, promoting their services effectively.
Originality/value
The originality of this study lies in its exploration of the critical role of trust in leader and OC shaping various dimensions of employee silence within the context of private banks. This study contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between trust in a leader and OC and its consequences. This study provides valuable implications for the private banking sector in predicting the motives behind employee silence and finding ways to mitigate this silent behavior. Also, the study has encapsulated the moderating role of EL in the relation between trust in leader and employee silence.

Purpose
Over the next decade, humanity is going to face big environmental problems, and considering these serious issues, businesses are adopting environmentally responsible practices. To put forward specific measures to achieve a more prosperous environmental future, this study aims to develop an environment-based perspective framework by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) technology into a sustainable automotive supply chain (SASC).
Design/methodology/approach
The study presents a conceptual environmental framework – based on 29 factors constituting four stakeholders' rectifications – that holistically assess the SASC operations as part of the ReSOLVE model utilizing IoT. Then, experts from the SASC, IoT and sustainability areas participated in two rigorous rounds of a Delphi study to validate the framework.
Findings
The results indicate that the conceptual environmental framework proposed would help companies enhance the connectivity between major IoT tools in SASC, which would help develop congruent strategies for inducing sustainable growth.
Originality/value
This study adds value to existing knowledge on SASC sustainability and digitalization in the context where the SASC is under enormous pressure, competitiveness and increased variability.

Abstract
Purpose
The primary purpose of this research is to examine the influence of perceived service quality (PSQ) on word-of-mouth (WOM) directly and through the mediating role of brand trust (BTR) and student satisfaction (SAT) at private universities located in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Design/methodology/approach
A structured questionnaire and convenience sampling were utilized to collect data from 350 students enrolled in selected private universities in the TRNC. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.
Findings
This study found that PSQ has a significant influence on WOM. BTR and SAT have a direct and significant effect on WOM. We also found that BTR and SAT mediate the link between PSQ and WOM.
Practical implications
These findings can serve as a guide for university administration to enhance the quality of services offered to students, as well as to enhance existing policies and procedures.
Originality/value
This paper’s originality lies in the use of cognitive-affective behavioural (CAB) to support the relationship between student perceptions of service quality, brand trust, student satisfaction and WOM.

Purpose
Employee engagement (EE) continues to be one of the most difficult challenges for organizations today. Numerous factors have been linked to EE, according to studies. However, the necessary human resource management (HRM) strategies and systems for enhancing EE have not yet been developed. It is questionable if all employees inside the company require the same HRM strategies, to boost engagement as one size does not fit all. Therefore, it is necessary to create employee profiles based on factors associated with EE. This study aims to develop employee profiles based on engagement dimensions and outcomes. It seeks to comprehend the relationship between engagement level and factors such as age, years of service and employment grade.
Design/methodology/approach
Using latent profile analysis (LPA), we identified five EE profiles (highly engaged, engaged, moderately engaged, disengaged and highly disengaged). These five profiles were characterized by five EE dimensions (Culture Dimensions, Leadership Dimensions, People Process, Business alignment Dimension and Job Dimension) and EE outcomes (Say, Stay and Strive).
Findings
The study revealed that Engaged profiles exhibited low stay outcomes. The highest percentage of disengaged employees fall under 25 years of age with less than 5 years of experience and are at the entry level.
Research limitations/implications
The study highlights the significance of the people processes dimensions in enhancing engagement. Profiles with low people process dimensions showed high disengagement. Person-centered LPA adds and complements variable-centered approach to develop a better understanding of EE and help organizations devise more personalized strategies. The study would be of interest to both academics and practitioners.
Originality/value
The novelty of this study lies in its attempt to model the employee profiles to comprehend the relationship between engagement levels using LPA.
