Abstract

Purpose

This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on mobile application experience, recognizing its growing importance in research and practical applications. The purpose is to address the factors influencing customer mobile application experience in this dynamic environment.

Design/methodology/approach

The study uses the theories, context, characteristics, methodology (TCCM) review framework. This research meticulously analyzes 42 articles published between 2015 and 2023. The selected articles are sourced from prominent journals in widely recognized databases, including Scopus and the Australian Business Deans Council.

Findings

The examination of the pertinent literature culminates in the formulation of the TCCM framework, shedding light on the antecedents, mediators, moderators and outcomes, related to the mobile application experience.

Research limitations/implications

This study pioneers a unified framework for mobile application experience, shedding light on unexplored territories and shaping the trajectory of future mobile application experience investigations. Its emphasis on a strong academic foundation enriches technological marketing literature, offering managers actionable insights aligned with TCCM. This study marks a pivotal contribution, bridging theoretical advancements with practical strategies for the dynamic landscape of mobile applications experience.

Originality/value

This research uncovers overlooked areas and proposes discerning research directions to advance the understanding of mobile applications experience. It addresses a crucial gap in current knowledge and motivates further investigation into the intricate dynamics of mobile application experience.

Abstract

Purpose

This study presents a systematic literature review on green banking (GB) and sustainability from 2012 to 2024, filtering 45 out of 561 research publications.

Design/methodology/approach

Using NVivo and Biblioshiny, the study employed a combination of bibliometric analysis and thematic analysis, representing a novel approach in this field.

Findings

The analysis of ‘term frequency' results has indicated that the term “green banking” has gained significant attention during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by sustainability and green finance. This suggests that approximately 12.5% of the literature on GB has emerged shortly after the first wave of the COVID-19 crisis. Cluster analysis and network analysis has divided the GB articles into two major clusters and one minor cluster. Most studies cover titles such as “sustainable”, “sustainable development” and “sustainability.” However, there is a significant gap in research on the theme of GB. Aside from legitimacy and stakeholder theories, no clear theoretical frameworks have yet been published in the field of GB. Among all categories of publishers, Elsevier ranks highest for publishing journal articles on “green” topics. According to publication output by country, China leads with 17 publications, followed by Malaysia with 11, and both Australia and India with nine each.

Practical implications

The in-depth research on GB provides fresh insights for policymakers and academics regarding future research directions.

Originality/value

This study is likely the first to incorporate both bibliometric and thematic analysis to explore the growing phenomenon of GB. Furthermore, none of the existing banking literature explicitly addresses the relevant questions and themes that could benefit future researchers and policymakers.

Abstract

Migrants have been posed with less familiarity in their new environment during COVID times, faced with various social, psychological and emotional traumas. Research indicates that they may have been originating from apprehension of being abandoned by their neighbours. Most of them were precarious with little wages, competing for their basic need fulfilment, putting them under more mental stress. Looking forward to the ancient principle, ‘Athithi Devo Bhavah’ (Visitors are Gods), and immediate response, measures were taken to promote community shelters and kitchens, maintaining social distancing and ensuring physical safety. The governments of different countries took proactive initiatives to study and assess their needs. The study here includes the cases being evaluated regarding migrants' need for surveillance and psycho-social support given by the government and non-profit associations during the pandemic at the global level. Remarkably, certain countries proved the working of their sustainable poverty reduction model by evaluating various factors. The study started by introducing who migrants were, diagnosing their problems faced during the pandemic, how Sustainable Development Goals can be implemented and various measures taken at government and institutional levels to protect the migrant workforce.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this research is to examine the potential impact of technologies on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain performance inside healthcare organizations, with a particular focus on cost and quality improvement.

Design/methodology/approach

The present investigation employs the survey method to examine the research hypothesis and objective. A total of 630 surveys were collected using an online platform, all of which were deemed to be valid. The gathered data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 and Smart-PLS version 3.0 software.

Findings

The finding represents a holistic investigation into Industry 4.0 technologies, quality management practices, supply chain performance and organizational performance is essential for the healthcare industry’s evolution. Embracing these elements collectively has the potential to redefine healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes and drive operational excellence. The results seek to shed light on the broader implications for enhancing patient care, optimizing resources and improving organizational effectiveness within the evolving landscape of Industry 4.0-driven healthcare environments.

Research limitations/implications

Exploration of the incorporation of Industry 4.0 technologies within the healthcare domain has the potential to augment operational efficacy, patient care and data administration. Examination of the repercussions of these technologies on quality management procedures in healthcare environments imparts an understanding of the enhancement of healthcare service quality and patient outcomes.

Practical implications

Implementing Industry 4.0 technologies, which encompass Internet of Things devices and analytics driven by artificial intelligence, within the healthcare sector has the potential to streamline operational procedures, minimize errors and optimize resource distribution. This, in turn, may result in heightened precision of diagnostic procedures, refined treatment strategies and an overall enhancement in the quality of care provided to patients.

Social implications

There exist certain constraints inherent to this study. In the initial instance, the data were gathered from moderately sizable medical institutions situated within India. As the present investigation was conducted in India, it is possible to examine other countries in order to identify potential disparities in social conditions. Future research should consider, cross-cultural and longitudinal studies of organizational performance.

Originality/value

In the present investigation, the writer presents innovative research that may assist the healthcare industry in identifying the most crucial component of Industry 4.0 technologies for the relevant personnel. There is a notable relationship between the technologies of Industry 4.0 and the supply chain of healthcare, which was formerly the central focus. With a specific emphasis on big data, the Internet of things, cloud computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence and 3D printing, the authors of the current study have showcased a connection between the practice of quality management and the performance of the supply chain by employing industry 4.0 technologies. This paves the way for the healthcare sector to place a heightened emphasis on organizational performance.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of current study aims to provide a different perspective on customer-based brand equity (CBBE) and integrate this with previous brand equity theory to contribute to the brand equity literature.

Design/methodology/approach

Proposed hypotheses were verified using structural equation modelling (SEM) with multiple datasets. Study 1 collected data from 574 foreign tourists and 624 domestic tourists of culinary tourism. Study 2 used 1,020 customers from anti-epidemic restaurants, and Study 3 investigated 464 hotel customers’ perceptions of customer-based brand equity.

Findings

Building on the mediation-moderation model, the present study posits that perceived quality relates to brand loyalty through brand image and brand awareness of using 2,682 participants. Specifically, we argue that this indirect relationship exhibits a difference moderated pattern in which motivation and hedonic function are most likely to benefit from revisit destinations for tourists when they are moderate. We further explored the new anti-epidemic concepts of COVID-19 and identified restaurant operation as an important moderator that influences customer image of restaurant revisit.

Originality/value

Until now, no tourism and hospitality studies have addressed these unsolved problems in an integrated manner. This study was to investigate the brand equity development process.

Abstract

Purpose

The study aims to synthesize findings from over two decades of research, highlighting key trends, progress, innovations, methodologies and challenges in bioclimatic design strategies and their interconnection with building environmental performance across the world.

Design/methodology/approach

This systematic review examines advancements in bioclimatic design strategies aimed at enhancing the environmental performance of buildings from 2000 to 2023 (n = 1,069). The methodology/approach involves a comprehensive analysis of literature from the SCOPUS database using bibliometric analysis, identifying trends, thematic evolution, keyword clusters and pivotal strategies such as passive solar design, natural ventilation, green roofs and thermal mass utilization.

Findings

The review highlights significant progress in several areas, including improved simulation/modeling tools for passive solar design, advanced computational fluid dynamics models for natural ventilation optimization, and the integration of green roofs with photovoltaic systems for increased building energy efficiency. Additionally, the use of phase change materials and high-performance glazing has reduced heating and cooling loads, while real-time optimization technologies have enhanced building performance and led to energy savings.

Research limitations/implications

The study recognizes limitations where the effectiveness of bioclimatic strategies varies across different climates. For example, passive solar design is highly effective in temperate climates but less so in tropical regions. Global differences in design preferences and building types and practices impact the applicability of bioclimatic strategies and traditional building methods in some cultures may not easily integrate with modern approaches, affecting their implementation and effectiveness. Furthermore, practical implications highlight the potential for reduced reliance on artificial heating, cooling and lighting systems, while social implications underscore the role of bioclimatic design in promoting sustainable construction practices.
