Abstract
Purpose
Using a substantial sample of U.S.-listed firms’ Seasoned Equity Offerings (SEOs) spanning the period from 2012 to 2017, we examine the relationship between hierarchical complexity and the selection of SEO methods.
Design/methodology/approach
We employ multinomial logistic regression to examine the influence of hierarchical complexity on the choice among various SEO techniques. To strengthen the robustness of our results, we employ a two-stage-least-squares (2SLS) analysis and utilize propensity score matching to address potential endogeneity issues and mitigate self-selection bias, respectively.
Findings
The research indicates that companies characterized by high levels of hierarchical complexity tend to steer clear of accelerated offerings but exhibit a preference for rights offerings over firm commitment offerings. This tendency is plausibly attributed to the impact of hierarchical complexity, which diminishes information transparency and heightens information asymmetry. Furthermore, the study highlights a negative association between hierarchical complexity and firm value following SEOs.
Originality/value
While an expanding body of evidence establishes a connection between hierarchical complexity and various firm- or market-specific activities, to the best of our knowledge, there are no specific empirical studies that have investigated how hierarchical complexity impacts equity offering strategies. Building on the established correlation in previous research between hierarchical complexity, information transparency, and asymmetric information, and recognizing the critical role of information in the selection of SEO methods, our study reveals that hierarchical complexity may diminish information transparency, heighten information asymmetry, and hinder outside investors from fully grasping a firm’s actions and outcomes. Consequently, this influence extends to the methods of offerings chosen by listed companies.

Abstract
Purpose
By anchoring on the ability-motivation-opportunity (AMO) framework, this research aims to examine the effect of tourists' green ability, motivation and opportunity to access green information on digital media platforms (green AMO) on their intention to stay at green hotels. The study also tests the moderating role of environmental concern and the mediating role of green attitude in this relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
An online survey was conducted on large Facebook groups and by an international tour operator in March 2022. Through convenience sampling, 600 responses were collected from local and international tourists. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was performed to validate the research model.
Findings
The results reveal that tourists' intention to stay at green hotels is positively affected by their green AMO through indirect and direct channels. Specifically, green AMO indirectly effects tourists' intention to stay at green hotels by raising their green attitude. The results also indicate that the direct effect is moderated by environmental concern.
Research limitations/implications
The findings demonstrate the importance of facilitating tourists' access to environmental information on social media platforms, which enhances green attitude and intention to stay at green hotels. This study also proposes practical solutions that managers of green hotels can employ to target green-oriented customers and conduct environmental campaigns on digital platforms.
Originality/value
The research is the first to investigate the effects of tourists' green AMO on their intention to stay at green hotels. It is also the first to explore the roles of environmental concern and green attitude in this relationship.

Abstract
Purpose
This study seeks to investigate how psychological capital (PsyCap), proactive personality and perceived organizational support (POS) influence organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) through the lens of meaning of work (MoW) within correctional institutions in the North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Design/methodology/approach
This study employed a quantitative approach involving 276 officers. Path analysis was conducted utilizing the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique.
Findings
The ten-hypotheses testing showed that one hypothesis is not supported, specifically the effect of proactive personality on OCB. However, the indirect effects of PsyCap, POS and proactive personality on OCB through MoW were successfully proven.
Originality/value
The results of this study both reinforce and provide insights into how the MoW can contribute to OCB, particularly within the context of densely populated correctional facilities. It aims to fill a significant gap in the current body of knowledge and enhance our understanding of the key factors that influence the behavior of correctional officers in a challenging and complex environment.

Purpose
With rapidly changing marketing landscape, nowadays, the formulation of various marketing strategies is increasingly focused on how consumers tend to make decisions. To meet the highly demanding consumer expectations, market segmentation can be used as an important marketing strategy. Due to gender marketing concept familiarity in the contemporary world, gender difference is one of the reference features in the process of market segmentation for marketers. This research is aimed to examine various determining factors that foster consumer purchase decision-making and the differences between consumers of different genders while making shopping and purchase decisions with special reference to an emerging economy, i.e. Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on a cross-sectional sample of 367 consumers, the study adapted Sproles and Kendall's (1986) Consumer Style Inventory (CSI) to scrutinize the decision-making of both genders in Pakistan. For data analysis, the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis in addition to the structural equation modeling has been used.
Findings
The study emphasized that, with the exception of quality awareness, brand consciousness, fashion consciousness, option overload and price consciousness greatly affect buying decisions. In addition, when it comes to consumer purchase decision-making, significant gender variations were discovered for both fashion consciousness and price consciousness.
Originality/value
Drawing upon the distinctive cultural characteristics of Pakistan and its people, in-depth research was conducted on purchasing behaviors of Pakistani consumers and the decision-making characteristics of customers of different genders were summarized. The outcomes are expected to make a significant contribution to the field of gender marketing by organizations.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the safe haven feature of Bitcoin, gold and two gold-backed cryptocurrencies (DGX and PAXG) against energy and agricultural commodities (crude oil, natural gas and wheat) during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia–Ukraine conflict and the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapse.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors use the threshold GARCH (T-GARCH)-asymmetric dynamic conditional correlation (ADCC) model to evaluate the asymmetric dynamic conditional correlation between the return series and compare the diversifying, hedging and safe-haven ability of Bitcoin, gold and the two gold-backed cryptocurrencies (DGX and PAXG) against financial swings in the commodity market during the COVID-19 outbreak, the Russian–Ukrainian military conflict and SVB collapse. The authors also calculate the hedging ratios (HR) and hedging effectiveness index (HE). The authors finally use the wavelet coherence (WC) approach to check our results’ robustness and further investigate the impact of the three crises on the relationship between Bitcoin, gold gold-backed cryptocurrencies and commodities.
Findings
The results show that PAXG serves as a strong hedging instrument while gold, Bitcoin and DGX act as strong diversifiers during normal times. During crises, gold outperforms Bitcoin as a diversifier and a safe haven against commodities. Gold-backed cryptocurrencies also exhibit strong performance as diversifiers and safe havens. HR results indicate that Bitcoin and DGX are more cost-effective for commodities risk mitigation than gold and PAXG. In terms of hedging effectiveness, gold and PAXG emerge as the best hedging instruments for commodities, while DGX is considered the worst one. Bitcoin shows superior hedging against oil compared to wheat and gas risks. Moreover, the results of the WC approach confirm those of the T-GARCH-ADCC results in both the short and long run.
Originality/value
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the diversification ability of gold, Bitcoin and gold-backed cryptocurrencies during different crises (the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia–Ukraine conflict and the SVB collapse). By taking into consideration gold-backed cryptocurrencies, the authors expand the understanding of safe havens beyond conventional assets.

Abstract
Purpose
The team collective voice (TCV) concept has received limited attention in existing research despite its potential significance, particularly within Eastern cultural contexts. Hence, this paper aims to extend the employee voice literature by conducting a comprehensive exploration of the role of TCV as opposed to individual voice (IV) in promoting team innovative performance (TIP).
Design/methodology/approach
The theoretical model is tested with survey data collected among ICT employees who work in large telecommunication organizations in Vietnam.
Findings
TCV was used more by participants than IV. Both IV and TCV exhibited noteworthy influences on TIP explained by the role of routine changes, with TCV serving as a full mediator for the relationship between IV and TIP. In addition, team autonomy (TA) also significantly enhanced TIP.
Originality/value
By measuring TCV as shared and consensus team voice, this study makes significant contributions to employee voice literature. It not only confirms the prevalence but also offers insightful explanations for why Vietnamese employees tend to favor TCV over IV. Additionally, the findings enrich the innovation literature by presenting a novel perspective on how employee voice can enhance TIP through the introduction of exogenous routine changes. It introduces a unique perspective on employee voice as a form of a search routine, distinct from Nelson and Winter's (1982) conceptualization of search, generating changes in lower-order routines, ultimately contributing to enhanced team innovation and performance.

Abstract
Purpose
This study introduces an innovative approach to long-term economic forecasting by integrating anticipatory governance (AG) and causal layered analysis methodologies. Focussing on emerging economies, with Vietnam as a case study, we explore potential economic trajectories to 2050.
Design/methodology/approach
The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative economic projections with qualitative scenario building and analysis.
Findings
Our findings reveal four distinct future scenarios, ranging from low growth to transformative change. The preferred scenario, characterized by adaptive change, projects a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita of $30,684 by 2050, with significant reductions in agricultural labour and improvements in human development indicators.
Originality/value
This study contributes to theoretical and practical domains by demonstrating the value of integrated foresight methodologies in economic planning. It offers policymakers a comprehensive framework for navigating complex, long-term economic challenges and opportunities. This research underscores the importance of adaptive governance and systemic thinking in achieving sustainable, inclusive economic growth in an increasingly uncertain global environment.

This study aims to investigate whether stimulating a family business image can serve as a signal to enhance customer brand co-creation.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors tested the proposed moderated serial mediation model utilising a sample of 521 experienced online customers. Using a scenario-based approach with an experimental design, the authors investigated how the stimulation of a family business image influences customers’ co-creation activities on social media.
Findings
Stimulating a family business image plays a significant role in fostering interactions among customers who respond to this signal. Furthermore, when there is an alignment between customers’ self-concept and their perception of brand authenticity, a stronger brand contribution is established. Nonetheless, this alignment does not translate into heightened involvement in brand co-creation activities, as active participation in co-creation necessitates empowerment derived from the co-creation process.
Originality/value
By taking a co-creation viewpoint, this study empirically demonstrates how stimulating a family business image can impact different levels of brand-related involvement. It also highlights the moderating influence of self-congruence in transmitting the signal, shedding light on individual differences in brand engagement. From a practical standpoint, the distinctive nature of a family business image should be recognised as an asset that enables managers to enhance customer responses and strengthen their market position.

Abstract
Purpose
This study explores the dynamics of companies’ green knowledge sharing (GKS) within the tourism sector, focusing on its influence on green electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) intention via the mediation of tourists’ green engagement behaviour. Additionally, the study considers the moderating effects of green destination psychological ownership and perceived injunctive norms of green self-expression online on the pathway from green knowledge sharing to tourists’ green engagement behaviour to green eWOM.
Design/methodology/approach
The primary dataset, consisting of 902 valid responses obtained through time-lagged surveys administered to environmentally conscious tourists, was analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) by PROCESS package for R.
Findings
Findings indicate that green destination psychological ownership enhances the mediation effect of tourists’ green engagement behaviour on green eWOM intention, reinforcing the sense of personal investment and belonging among tourists. Conversely, perceived injunctive norms of green self-expression online moderate this pathway by shaping the social norms and acceptability of green behaviours online.
Practical implications
To effectively spread green knowledge, tourism businesses should focus on enhancing tourists' psychological ownership of green destinations and align their communications with the perceived norms of green expression online. This strategy not only deepens tourists' environmental commitment but also stimulates active participation in spreading sustainable practices.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the green marketing literature by revealing how intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors interact to influence green engagement and eWOM intention in the tourism industry, aiding marketers in strategically fostering green value co-creation and enhancing sustainable practices through targeted green knowledge sharing.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to inspect the impact of US climate policy uncertainty (CPU) on the economic growth of Asian countries with the moderating role of crude oil price (COP) changes.
Design/methodology/approach
The Im-Pesaran Sin and Fisher-type tests are used for stationarity check, while Kao and Pedroni tests are used for cointegration analysis. The Hausman test is applied for model selection, where pooled mean group autoregressive distributed lag (PMG/ARDL) has been selected and applied. Besides, the fully modified ordinary least squares is also used for robustness analysis. Additionally, the literature review and descriptive statistics have been used.
Findings
The main findings disclosed that US CPU negatively impacted the economic growth of Asian economies with high significance in the long run whereas insignificant in the short run. The results further concluded that COP positively affected economic growth both in the short and long run. Furthermore, the results also revealed that COP significantly and positively moderates the relationship between CPU and COP in the long and short run.
Originality/value
The study is the first of its kind to examine the impact of the US CPU on the economic growth of Asian economies. Second, it further revealed the moderating role of COP between US CPU and economic growth. Third, a large panel of data from Asian countries has been considered. Fourth, the study adds to the current literature by using the PMG/ARDL model to determine the impact of US CPU on economic growth. Additionally, this study focuses on the US CPU because it is a developed country playing a significant role in energy and climate issues, and has been very uncertain.
