Abstract
Purpose
This study proposes a conceptual model and aims (1) to understand how co-creation experience influences guest engagement, (2) to analyse the effect of satisfaction and affective image between co-creation experience and guest engagement, and (3) to analyse the effect of guest engagement on behavioural intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
A questionnaire-based online survey was conducted targeting U.S.-based hotel customers. Developed on Qualtrics and distributed via Mechanical Turk, the survey garnered 465 useable responses from individuals who had visited international chain hotels within the last year. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) in IBM SPSS Amos.
Findings
The findings revealed significant direct effects of co-creation experience on affective image and guest satisfaction, with guest satisfaction notably influencing guest engagement, and guest engagement directly influencing behavioural intention. However, both co-creation experience and affective image showed minimal direct impact on guest engagement. The study also highlighted the importance of indirect effects and total effects in understanding the dynamics between the constructs analysed.
Research limitations/implications
The findings revealed significant direct effects of co-creation experience on affective image, with affective image notably influencing guest engagement, and guest engagement directly influencing behavioural intention. Although satisfaction had direct effects on guest engagement, co-creation experience showed minimal direct impact on guest satisfaction and on guest engagement.
Practical implications
This study advises managers to use co-creation primarily to enrich guest experiences and establish emotional connections rather than as a tool for directly enhancing engagement. It recommends that managers invest in strategies to enhance guest engagement beyond co-creation given the direct link between guest engagement and behavioural intentions, and the minimal direct impact between co-creation, guest engagement and satisfaction.
Originality/value
This study demonstrates that affective image is a pivotal mediator between co-creation experience and guest engagement. The findings provide valuable implications for hospitality practitioners in designing and managing co-creation experiences, emphasizing the importance of fostering a positive affective image in the value co-creation process to attain positive behavioural outcomes.

Abstract
Purpose
Motivated by the ongoing debate around transparency in empirical research and the reproducibility of scientific discoveries, this study aims to quantify the presence or absence of evidential value in published findings within the field of servitization research. Specifically, it evaluated whether the findings of published articles on the relationship between servitization and firm performance were free from p-hacking and selective reporting practices.
Design/methodology/approach
A total of 76 studied on this relationship were synthesized. For the main p-curve analysis, only one significant p-value was extracted from each article, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the p-curve method. Specifically, the analyzed p-values were independent of one another and exhibited a uniform distribution.
Findings
Both the main p-curve analysis results and robustness tests support the conclusion that this branch of the literature does have evidential value based on the published findings. Furthermore, approximately 60 studies included in the main p-curve analysis reported a significance level of p < 0.025 regarding the relationship between servitization and firm performance.
Originality/value
This research contributes to the ongoing debate on transparency in servitization research and advances the current understanding of the relationship between servitization and firm performance.

Abstract
This study was motivated by the lack of the scientific focus to a particularly vulnerable social group in Croatian society – parents with official status of “parent caregivers,” who provide care to their child/children with the most severe disabilities. The aim of the study was to examine the role of caregivers’ cognitive emotion regulation strategies, and external social support in their well-being. As indicators of well-being, we used mental health, life satisfaction, and stress experience in the parental role. The sample was non-probabilistic and consisted of 210 caregivers, mostly mothers, from the Republic of Croatia (N = 204). Caregivers completed an online questionnaire which included set of demographic questions, followed by scales of general mental health, life satisfaction, parental stress, social support, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies. The results point to the protective role of social support for the mental health of parents, life satisfaction, and the experience of stress in the parental role. Among the different cognitive emotion regulation strategies used in the study, positive refocusing had the most protective role for caregivers’ well-being.

Abstract
Purpose
Despite the large corpus of literature on fashion consciousness (FC) and fashion involvement (FI), both terms are often used synonymously, resulting in conflicting or mixed results. We address this limitation by offering a critical analysis of FC and FI, with a specific focus on their measurements.
Design/methodology/approach
A snowball sample survey of 720 respondents were conducted for factor analysis aimed at assessing reliability and validity. Specifically, following discriminant and concurrent validity between FC and FI.
Findings
Our empirical research underscores the clear distinction between FC and FI in terms of their theoretical definitions and measurements. We strongly discourage their use as interchangeable/synonymous terms or use of other potentially related terminology.
Originality/value
Our contribution clarifies the differences between FI and FC. While acknowledging that authors may resort to linguistic repetition in their discourse, we advocate for consistently using the precise terms “fashion involvement” and “fashion consciousness” whenever feasible. This study has the potential to inform future knowledge development and literature reviews in the field.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to analyse the impact of various climate change indicators on economic growth while further scrutinising the overall efficiency of environmental policies adopted at the European Union (EU) level. The paper considers the European Green Deal policy framework as a prism for assessing whether an increase in environmental expenditure mitigates climate change.
Design/methodology/approach
Given the duality of the study, this paper examines the immediate impact of climate change on economic growth by using multiple linear regression and evaluates the effectiveness of environmental policies through a multiple indicators multiple cause (MIMIC) Model. As the paper assesses the policy efficiency in EU countries, this paper has used various climate and economic-related indicators from all 27 EU member states for a period of 12 years (2010–2021).
Findings
The results suggest that the macroeconomic environment is indeed impacted by climate change mechanisms, particularly through industrial activity that leads to pollution and resource depletion. Furthermore, through the MIMIC model approach, the results display that environmental expenditures have also diminished the risks associated with climate change indicators, especially in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Originality/value
This paper provides a clear overview of the manner in which climate change risks affect economic growth and, in turn, how EU countries are mitigating such risks. It proposes a traditional yet controversial method for assessing the correlation between indicators and corresponding causes whilst also considering various indicators to explain the means through which the EU Commission had applied its adopted environmental policies to mitigate environmental risks.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to propose and validate a framework for analyzing management activities in regional strategic networks. It addresses the knowledge gap regarding network management and the lack of focus on specific activities and management modes employed by network actors.
Design/methodology/approach
The research methodology involves a literature review to identify essential network management functions, which academic experts and field specialists then evaluate. Based on their feedback, an instrument is refined to assess these activities’ strategic importance and frequency. Data is collected from 86 regional strategic network managers, meeting the required criteria for factor analysis. Principal component analysis with varimax rotation measures the “Network Management” construct and identifies underlying dimensions summarizing observed variables.
Findings
The analysis reveals two dimensions within the framework: one encompasses early-stage network development activities (ex ante activities), and the other includes activities associated with more advanced stages (ex post activities). This framework contributes methodologically to measuring and analyzing network management.
Research limitations/implications
This research addresses the need for robust conceptual frameworks in network governance, advancing the understanding of governance drivers and their impact on network outcomes by aligning network phenomena with performance.
Practical implications
The framework provides valuable insights for network managers, enhancing their understanding of management activities’ strategic importance and frequency. This knowledge can inform managerial decisions and improve network management practices.
Originality/value
This study introduces an original framework for analyzing network management activities in regional strategic networks, filling a significant research gap. Despite limitations like specificity to certain network types and subjective responses, the study maintains validity and reliability criteria. Future research opportunities involve applying the framework to different network contexts and conducting longitudinal studies to track network management evolution.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is twofold: first is to map and analyse prominent contributions, current dynamics, patterns, gaps and research prospects in the field of workplace incivility (WI); second is to provide a coherent theoretical research framework for future research.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopts a two-step analysis approach by combining bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review to explore the research topic of WI, besides, using multiple methodologies including bibliometric, network and content analyses.
Findings
This study found that L. M. Cortina and M. S. Hershcovis are the top two most influential authors among all authors in the sample publications. Journal of Occupational Health Psychology is one of the top-ranking journal that often publishes this topic of articles. USA and The Bowling Green State University are the most influential country and institutions, respectively. Besides, burnout and retention are also common keywords were identified based on keywords co-occurrence map, showing that WI has a major impact on burnout and employee retention. Based on the above analysis, this paper constructed a theoretical research framework of WI.
Research limitations/implications
This paper only draw data from one database—Scopus—which cannot provide broad coverage of the research topic. WI research trends and trajectories may be assessed to enable academics and practitioners better understand the current and future trends and research directions. Future studies in this field might use the findings as a starting point to highlight the nature of the topic.
Originality/value
This study is the first to use an systematic literature review (SLR) to evaluate the association between WI and other organizational behaviour. The study contributions are fourfold, extending the work and overcoming the methodologies of prior research that only focussed on characteristics of incivility in nursing. In addition, this paper presents an in-depth analysis of this topic and provides a comprehensive theoretical research framework for future study.
