Abstract
Purpose
Organizations' technological management capabilities (TMC) have emerged as a powerful tool to enable manufacturing firms to deal with environmental issues. This empirical investigation aims to introduce and validate a novel conceptual framework that seeks to uncover the latent relationships among the selected constructs of this study. Organizational TMC could enhance green production (GP) and reinforce the green competitive advantage (GCA) among manufacturing firms. Therefore, this research investigates the role of TMC of firms such as artificial intelligence capability (AIC), big data analytics capability (BDAC) and Internet of things capability (IOTC) in reshaping green innovation (RGI), employee development (ED), GP and GCA.
Design/methodology/approach
The Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling was proposed to test and validate this research’s conceptual model using 463 valid responses from manufacturing under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) umbrella.
Findings
Our statistical findings confirmed that TMCs such as AIC, BDAC and IOTC supported the GP and CGA. ED and RGI positively correlated to GP. The hypotheses testing results also confirmed the mediating role of ED, RGI and GP and the moderating role of green firm innovativeness capability (GFIC) in the underdeveloped context of the manufacturing industry under the CPEC.
Originality/value
Moreover, the statistical findings of this study extend the existing literature by validating the possible direct, indirect/mediation and indirect/moderation relationship between TMC and GCA.

Abstract
Purpose
Although businesses increasingly use augmented reality (AR) to enhance service experiences, the way AR service marketing inspires consumers remains underexplored. Drawing on the consumer inspiration literature, the authors examine how AR service marketing activities such as entertainment, interaction, trendiness and customization enhance consumer inspiration. In addition, the authors explore the role of consumer empowerment and skepticism as key underlying mechanisms between consumer inspiration and value co-creation (VCC) or co-destruction (VCD) intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
The study used a mixed method, explanatory sequential design to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their proposed theoretical framework. The quantitative survey study involved 344 AR app users, followed by a qualitative open-ended essay study with 34 AR app users.
Findings
Results suggest that AR service marketing activities positively influence consumer inspiration, which in turn increases consumer empowerment and reduces skepticism. The authors also found that consumer empowerment leads to VCC, while skepticism leads to VCD. These findings provide valuable insights for practitioners seeking to implement AR service marketing activities effectively to inspire consumers, foster value creation and manage value destruction.
Practical implications
The study highlights inspiration as a key factor in motivating consumers to co-create value, transcending typical service experiences and limitations. Empowered consumers, feeling inspired, are more inclined to contribute effectively to VCC, also fostering trust in the service provider. AR serves not just as a sales channel, but also as a tool for relationship-building and brand retention. Managers should leverage AR to elicit feelings of trendiness, customization and interaction, fostering empowerment and inspiring consumers to co-create value.
Originality/value
This study significantly contributes to the growing body of literature on consumer inspiration and AR service marketing. It emphasizes the need to consider external (i.e. marketing-induced) stimuli in understanding the sources and consequences of consumer inspiration through AR.

Purpose
Islamic banking windows have attracted a considerable deal of scholarly attention lately, as shown by the sharp rise in publications across the globe. The growing number of Islamic banking windows being published demonstrates how much scholarly interest there has been in this topic. To evaluate the body of knowledge on Islamic banking windows, this paper aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis.
Design/methodology/approach
A bibliometric examination of literature samples pulled in July 2023 from the Scopus database served as the study’s methodology. In total, 79 publications that met the criteria for selection and were published between 2008 and 2023 made up the study’s sample size. Software like RStudio (Rshiny), VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel have been used to evaluate the data. Three major kinds of analyses were carried out: overall performance indicators, citation analysis and cross-dimensional keyword analysis. A quick content analysis to pinpoint research flows then followed.
Findings
The number of publications increased noticeably between 2019 and 2021, with Abdul Majid M. contributing the most with four articles published during that time. The findings also include the countries, groups, publications, works, sources and topics that have contributed the most. This examination found five research streams that have already been examined by other writers out of 79 papers. Comparative efficiency, Islamic banking’s customer, performance, risk and liquidity management are some of the research areas covered. With precise research questions, this study further outlined the future research agenda.
Research limitations/implications
The scope of this study is restricted to English-language journal articles appearing in sources that are Scopus-indexed. A variety of databases, including Dimensions and the Web of Science, as well as expanding the investigated units, could be used in future research. Future studies might center on the systematic review of publications published on certain topics, whereas this study only focused on bibliometric analysis and research streams.
Originality/value
Despite the fact that Islamic banking is a fascinating topic for research, as far as the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first bibliometric analysis of Islamic banking windows. The five research streams identified in this study also offer numerous potential research topics in a unique way.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to systematically review the managerial literature on Industry 4.0 (I4.0) in emerging markets (EMs) through bibliometric analyses to identify incipient research streams and literature gaps and recommend avenues for future research.
Design/methodology/approach
This research uses bibliographic coupling analysis (BCA) to obtain a comprehensive view of the intellectual contours within the addressed literature. The primary source utilised is the Web of Science database. A total of 345 peer-reviewed journal articles were retrieved. Complementing BCA, we use social network analysis and the content analysis of articles to study the resulting literature clusters.
Findings
The results reveal four thematic clusters: (1) Adoption of I4.0 in EMs; (2) impact of I4.0 on organisational aspects and financial performance of companies and supply chains in EMs; (3) I4.0, lean management and operational performance in EMs and (4) I4.0 and the development of sustainable practices in EMs. We supplement these results with the proposal of different future avenues of research, both general and specific, for each identified cluster.
Research limitations/implications
The current study has certain limitations arising from using the bibliometric method and techniques employed in the analyses.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there is no comprehensive literature review article on this subject. This research is deemed valuable for future scholars as it facilitates the identification of research fronts that define the forefront of knowledge, reveals current trends and sets the stage for further exploration of key issues in the field. This, in turn, can offer valuable insights to academics, policymakers and practitioners.

Abstract
Purpose
The determination of human behaviours due to individual characteristics (personality traits) or situational factors has long remained inconclusive. Although the literature stream on personality as the determinants of behaviour is voluminous, the interest of researchers is also growing towards organisational situational cues as the determinant of behaviours. According to situation strength theory (SST), behaviours are determined by situations in strong situations and by personality in weak situations. This study aims to propose a theoretical model of intrapreneurial behaviour (IB) emanation from empowering leadership (EL) by extending the epistemology of SST under the influence of organisational strong situations of job autonomy (JA) and perceived organisational support (POS).
Design/methodology/approach
Using SST, the present study argues that strong situations play a key role in determining human behaviours, and the same can be viewed deductively to assess IB.
Findings
The study attempts to propose whether EL is capable of predicting IB under the strong situation effect of JA and POS while dampening the impact of human personality characteristics.
Originality/value
The current study offers a significant departure from current human resource practices in person-situation dialectics, moving away from personality assessments and toward the creation of cues from strong situations for fostering human behaviour. As a result, personality researchers are being encouraged to conduct a reality check on the extensive personality research conducted in occupational settings. Considering organisational situational cues can impact human resource scope in areas such as talent management, selection, promotion and employment.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper investigates the mediating role of organizational prosocial behavior (OPB) in the relationship between spiritual leadership (SL) and knowledge-sharing (KS) from the intrinsic motivation perspective.
Design/methodology/approach
A survey was used to gather data from middle and executive management employees at industrial firms in Sahab Industrial City in Jordan. The study applied quantitative exploratory methods. The study used a self-reported questionnaire to gather data, with 268 valid responses being used to conduct the analysis. The analysis of data proceeded with the aid of SEM-PLS using SmartPLS 4.
Findings
The results advocate the positive link between SL and KS routing through the mediator (OPB). The mediating role of OPB was found to be partial.
Practical implications
This study offers practical implications for organizations that wish to optimize KS among employees. It emphasizes the crucial role of SL in determining employee OPB and proposes that managers strive to engender organization-wide transcendental values.
Originality/value
This study furthers the understanding of KS by testing the relationship between SL and KS using OPB as a mediator, which has not been investigated theoretically or empirically.

By market capitalisation, Bitcoin, which debuted in 2009, is the biggest cryptocurrency globally. A decentralised ledger system called blockchain is used in the creation, distribution, trading, and storage of Bitcoin, with the original goal being to address the shortcomings of fiat currency. This chapter highlights potential dangers and legal concerns when Bitcoin interacts with the actual economy and the traditional financial system. Besides, the details also discuss the platform’s design principles and attributes for a non-technical readership. When assessing its transactional potential, some recognise its potential for speculation, while others are doubtful of its admirable intent. The write-up also explores the potential of the adoption of cryptocurrencies in Southeast Asia due to the vast adoption of Bitcoins in countries such as Vietnam and the Philippines following the establishment of cryptocurrency technology and e-commerce. In addition, rankings of the cryptocurrency and legal stance from each country in Southeast Asia were exhibited as the solid foundation of cryptocurrencies existent for transaction purposes. The rise of central bank digital currencies (CBDC) and the future directions of Bitcoins were also highlighted in this write-up to spur the debate on whether cryptocurrency remains a fad of sensation or is legalised as the medium of exchange in an ever-growing digital world of commerce.

Purpose
Cryptocurrencies, which have been popular since 2009, raise concerns among investors, researchers and professionals. Amid global economic, financial and health crises, uncertainty has surged, leading investors to seek risk reduction and portfolio diversification. While some critique conventional fiat-based cryptocurrencies, others propose asset-backed alternatives. However, the impact of Shari’ah law-based cryptocurrencies on equity market returns remains largely unexplored in existing literature. This study aims to investigate the lead/lag relationship of selected Islamic and conventional cryptocurrencies from ASEAN and global perspectives.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors collected daily data of Bitcoin, Ethereum, X8X (Islamic cryptocurrency), Cardano (Islamic cryptocurrency), S&P500, Volatility Index, Economic Policy uncertainty and FTSE Asean Index (from the 4th of November 2019 to the 1st of July 2022) to reveal empirical results through Continuous Wavelet Transform and Correlation Heatmap with Dendrogram.
Findings
The findings indicate that Bitcoin offers a diversification opportunity for FTSE ASEAN investors for the long-term horizon while S&P500 investors will benefit from short-term investment. On the other hand, Ethereum provides better investment opportunities for both indices in the short run compared to long run. Cardano and X8X offer better investment opportunities in the long run for S&P500 and FTSE ASEAN investors. Interestingly, to check the robustness, the authors used correlation Heatmap based on Dendrogram which provided almost similar results.
Originality/value
This study contributes fresh insights to the existing literature concerning cryptocurrency due to the inconclusive findings of past studies, investors are curious to know the impact of cryptocurrency on stock market return from a global perspective which is extensively overlooked, and whether there is any difference between Islamic and conventional cryptocurrency. Therefore, by investigating the abovementioned timely demand issue, this study substantially contributes to the body of cryptocurrency literature.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper is an empirical investigation of the effect of knowledge, skills and entrepreneur competencies on the performance of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating in Upper Sindh, Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
The data were collected from owners/managers of MSMEs operating in major cities of Upper Sindh. A total of 1,100 respondents were identified through snowball and social contacts tools. A total of 316 respondents permitted researchers to visit their firms and collecting data from them by a survey questionnaire.
Findings
The findings shows that entrepreneurial skills and networking have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial competency. Then, entrepreneurial skills, networking and entrepreneurial competency have a positive effect on enterprise performance. The findings show a significant mediation effect of entrepreneurial competency on the relationships between entrepreneurial skills and networking and enterprise performance.
Originality/value
This paper provides useful conclusion in understanding the entrepreneur’s characteristics and their impact on performance MSMEs, which is crucial for promoting entrepreneurial activities and for enhancing socio-economic conditions among low-income households located in Upper Sindh, Pakistan. The government must make preparation in organizing trade fairs, seminars and road shows on certain services/ products to which MSMEs’ entrepreneurs, consumers and suppliers might be invited to ease their connections.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the intentions of Muslim cryptocurrency (CC) holders to fulfil their zakat obligations on digital assets, exploring the unique motivations and barriers within this emerging financial landscape.
Design/methodology/approach
The research uses a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional research design through online surveys, using purposive sampling to gather data from Muslim CC holders. The integrated model, known as the theory of planned behaviour and social cognitive theory (TPB-SCT) model, is used to comprehensively analyse the key factors influencing intentions to pay zakat on cryptocurrencies (CCs).
Findings
The study reveals that attitude towards zakat on CCs and perceived behavioural control regarding zakat on CCs have a significant and positive effect on the intention to pay. In contrast, subjective norms show no significant influence. CCs-related financial risk exerts a negative impact on intention. Moreover, CCs-related zakat knowledge and adherence to Shariah compliance are strongly associated with intention. These findings provide insights into the intricate dynamics of religious compliance within the evolving realm of digital assets.
Practical implications
Outcomes offer profound indications to stakeholders, including financial institutions, zakat agencies, policymakers and the community, on how to integrate zakat into this new and rapidly evolving financial paradigm like CC.
Originality/value
A pioneering effort was made in this study by exploring the intentions of Muslim CC holders to fulfil zakat obligations, bridging a significant gap in the existing literature. Developing and validating an integrated model of TPB-SCT in the realm of zakat on CC enriches the literature with a novel theoretical framework.
