Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this chapter is to find out the factors affecting female entrepreneurship in the case of the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) in entrepreneurship.
Methodology: In this chapter, semi-structured interviews are conducted to reach the final findings of the study.
Findings: Findings entail different six factors that severely affect CSR activities in entrepreneurship in Pakistan. These six factors are the educational system and skills gap, Cultural Mindset and Risk Aversion, Limited Access to Finance, Regulatory and Bureaucratic Hurdles, Political Instability and Security Concerns, and Inadequate Infrastructure. Every factor has its intensity and influence on the entrepreneurial process.
Originality/value: This chapter can be useful for international and local NGOs, academic institutions, financial institutions, government agencies, and entrepreneurs.

Abstract
Purpose
Managers are continuously worried about the engagement of employees in the organization. This research aimed to investigate the employees’ perceptions regarding leadership attributes, which enhance the workers’ psychological empowerment and engagement.
Design/methodology/approach
A sample of 296 employees from three pharmaceutical companies based in Karachi was selected. For hypothesis testing, IBM SPSS AMOS version 24 was used to perform a confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling.
Findings
The outcomes of multiple regression analysis expressed that the attributes of a leader positively influence psychological empowerment and employee engagement. The study found that psychological empowerment partially mediates the relationship between leadership attributes (feedback and delegation) and employee retention. Furthermore, psychological empowerment has no mediation between leadership attributes (empathy) and employee retention.
Originality/value
This study offers a unique contribution by focusing on the relationship between leadership attributes (empathy, delegation and feedback) and employee engagement within the pharmaceutical industry in Karachi, a relatively underexplored context. Psychological empowerment as a partial mediator between leadership attributes and employee retention adds a novel perspective, particularly by revealing that it mediates the impact of delegation and feedback but not empathy. Moreover, this research provides actionable insights for policymakers and operational managers in industries beyond pharmaceuticals, making it valuable for enhancing employee engagement across sectors. Advanced statistical techniques like structural equation modelling and confirmatory factor analysis further reinforce the study’s methodological rigour.

Abstract
Purpose
Supply chain (SC) management is more challenging than ever. Significantly, the pandemic has provoked global and economic destruction that appeared in the manufacturing industry as a “black swan.” Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the role of information processing and digital supply chain in supply chain resilience through supply chain risk management.
Design/methodology/approach
This study examines SC risk management and resilience from an information processing theory perspective. The authors used data collected from 251 SC professionals in the manufacturing industry, and the authors used a quantitative method to analyze the data. The data was analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling. To confirm the higher-order measurement model, the authors used SmartPLS version 4 software.
Findings
This study found that information processing capability (disruptive orientation and visibility in high-order) and digital SC significantly and positively affect SC risk management and resilience. Similarly, SC risk management positively mediates the relationship between information processing capability and digital SC. However, information processing capability was found to have a more substantial effect on SC risk management than the digital SC.
Research limitations/implications
This study has both academic and practical contributions. It contributed to existing information processing theory, and manufacturing firms can improve their performance by proactively responding to SC disruptions by recognizing the pivotal role of study variables in risk management for a resilient SC.
Originality/value
The conceptual model of this study is based on information processing theory, which asserts that synchronizing information processing capabilities and digital SCs allows a firm to deal with unplanned events. SC disruption orientation and visibility are considered risk controllers as they allow the firms to be more proactive. An integrated model of conceptualizing the disruption orientation, visibility (higher-order) and digital SC with information processing theory makes this research novel.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose has multiple purposes. Hence, this study has been conducted not only to shed light on the factors associated with place attachment but also to make people understand the two-way association between firm performance and CSR activities of small-scale tourism companies.
Significance and Scope: This chapter is specifically written in association with the tourism industry to make readers understand the implication of place attachment with CSR activities. This chapter also has a role in theoretical optimization as it highlights possible two-way associations between firm performance and CSR.
Research Gap: The lack of studies associated with this point is the major cause of concern. Therefore, this study has been conducted specifically to understand the importance of place attachment for CSR activities of small-scale tourism companies. Moreover, almost all of the studies conducted in this vein highlighted only the reasons for place attachment and their association with the CSR of the small-scale tourism industry. None of the studies are inclined toward model extension and enhancement.
Data Collection: Data have been collected through published material to develop postulates and models authentically.
Findings: After the compilation of data, it has been presumed that place attachment is one of the important elements in CSR activities of small-scale tourism businesses. However, the model can be reassessed in two-way association as a decline in the company's performance may also cause a decline in CSR activities and also in place attachment.

Sustainable development is the part of every context of life. However, these is a lack of serious attention on the concept of sustainable tourism. Therefore, issues like cultural disintegration, inequality of shared benefits and lack of conservation of resources for future have been evident regularly. Similar is the case of Asian market although lack of research and publication under this vein is one of the major reasons for lack of user or readers knowledge. Therefore, this chapter has been written purposively in order to discuss the concept, theories, problem as well as factors behind sustainable tourism with special focus towards the factors that are causing problem in development and managing of tourism destination. Although to make the chapter interesting and important, authors try to relate the work with hurdles in India and Pakistan. Abstract
Purpose
The present research investigates the effects of adopting Industry 4.0 technologies (ADT) on the Pakistani food sector’s sustainable performance (SP). Specifically, it focuses on the roles of green supply chain collaboration (GSCC), circular economy practices (CEP) and technological readiness (TR) as mediators and environmental dynamism (EDY) as a moderator.
Design/methodology/approach
This study is based on the natural resource-based view (NRBV) theory to determine the 14.0 adoption toward sustainable performance with mediators and moderators. The authors conducted an online questionnaire from 318 employees of the food manufacturing industries in Lahore, Pakistan, and applied the PLS-SEM approach to test the relationships of variables.
Findings
The findings of this study reveal that adopting Industry 4.0 technologies significantly influences sustainable performance through GSCC, CEP and TR in the Pakistani food sector. Moreover, the relation between industry 4.0 technologies, GSCC, CEP and TR is positively moderated by environmental dynamism.
Research limitations/implications
The findings have marked implications for the literature on adopting I4.0 on sustainable performance in the Pakistani food sector. This research is based on data collected from a single country, and industry is the limitation of this study.
Originality/value
The present study provides conclusive evidence of the influence of the adoption of Industry 4.0 on sustainable performance through GSCC, CEP and TR in the Pakistani food sector. This study is the first to investigate the moderating role of environmental dynamism among industry 4.0 technologies, GSCC, CEP and TR.
