Abstract
With the increase in uncertainty around the globe, an intensifying interest is seen in Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) as a topic of research. Researchers worldwide understand the significance of the impact of EPU on the country's development. EPU has a far-reaching impact as uncertainty shocks in one part of the world resonate worldwide due to the level of interconnectivity, globalization and quick communication. In order to facilitate these researchers, this study presents a bibliometric analysis of the existing research in this field using VOS viewer software, by consolidating all the studies from Scopus indexed journal articles, conference proceedings and review papers published in English language from 2006 to 2022. Bibliometric analysis on EPU has rarely been performed. The analysis identifies the publication trends, journal-wise citation, most influential authors, countries, institutions, keyword co-occurrence and authors of different countries who have collaborated for the research in the field. Finally, 1,055 papers were used for bibliometric analysis. The findings depicted that the most cited article on EPU is ‘Measuring economic policy uncertainty’ by Baker et al. (2016) and the most prolific author appears to be Rangan Gupta from University of Pretoria which as an institution also has the maximum publications on this topic. The Journal Finance Research Letters has published the greatest number of researches on EPU. This chapter also summarizes the limitations of the study along with new areas of research.

Abstract
Purpose
With the rapid growth of the gig economy worldwide, gig workers’ perceived algorithmic control has been proven to have a crucial impact on the service performance, well-being and mental health of gig workers. However, the literature suggests that gig workers’ perceived algorithmic control may be a double-edged sword. The purpose of this research is to explore how the perceived algorithmic control of gig workers can accelerate thriving at work.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the model of proactive motivation and work design literature, a three-wave survey was employed, yielding 281 completed responses. The structural equation modeling method was used to test the theoretical hypothesis.
Findings
The results indicate that gig workers’ perceived algorithmic control has positive and indirect effects on thriving at work through the mediating role of job crafting. In addition, job autonomy can moderate the mediated relationship; specifically, when job autonomy is high, this mediated relationship will be stronger.
Practical implications
The health and well-being of gig workers is a concern around the world. The findings provide insights for service platform enterprises and gig workers.
Originality/value
Perceived algorithmic control is critical to mental health and positive work experiences during a gig worker’s service process. However, the current literature focuses more on the negative aspects of algorithmic control. This paper provides a comprehensive research agenda for how to accelerate thriving at work for gig workers.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the importance of profitability and bank soundness as determinants of cash holdings by Islamic Rural Bank (IRB) in Indonesia.
Design/methodology/approach
The study covers 134 IRB during 2012–2016. The authors apply pooled regression and panel data method. The best model is used for further analysis.
Findings
The maximum cash holding is 22.21%, meaning the bank retains 22.21% of its liabilities in the cash vault. Cash holding is positively related to higher credit risk (LLR), soundness and profitability (ROA) and negatively to asset composition (PATA) and size (LASSET) for Model I. Soundness, asset composition (PATA), higher credit risk (LLR) and profitability (ROA) are negatively related to size. Larger IRB hold less cash as it has a better reputation in the market. The intermediation level (financing deposit ratio) is positive and significant for Model 1 but negative and not significant for Model 2. Different measures of liquidity ratio – cash to liabilities (CR) or cash to capital ratio (CCR) – produce different results. Evidence from multivariate analysis reports that the results from both models are mostly in the opposite direction.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to look at cash holding in the IRB in Indonesia.

This study investigated transformational leadership styles and their influence on knowledge management practices and organizational performance.
Design/methodology/approach
A quantitative survey was conducted, and data from 270 managers of Islamic banks in the United Arab Emirates were analyzed.
Findings
Transformational leadership (TL) considerably affects organizational performance and knowledge management capabilities (KMC).
Originality/value
This study offers critical insights into adopting knowledge management practices and discusses the theoretical and managerial implications of its findings. Furthermore, it elucidates the crucial impact of transformational leadership on organizational performance and KMC.

Abstract
Purpose
This study investigates the effects of social media as a social networking tool for donation-based crowdfunding by considering the factors affecting donation intention in the Philippines, such as social influences, motivations, strategic positioning and creative marketing efforts.
Design/methodology/approach
A mixed-method approach was used through a survey questionnaire and short focus group discussions (FGD). The researchers used partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as a statistical tool and qualitative data was analyzed through thematic analysis.
Findings
The study found that social experience, perceived donor effectiveness, intrinsic motivation and leveraging creativity positively affected donation intention. In contrast, extrinsic motivation and strategic positioning were found to have no significant effect on donation intention. The qualitative findings support the conclusion by discovering the need to be authentic and transparent to achieve fundraising goals.
Research limitations/implications
Existing research has mainly focused on crowdfunding websites. Also, research regarding the use of social media as a social networking tool for crowdfunding is scarce.
Practical implications
This study provides a deeper understanding of donation crowdfunding and offers insights into developing effective strategies for crowdfunding campaigns through social media.
Originality/value
The findings contribute to the literature on donation crowdfunding by identifying the determinants of a successful campaign through advertised crowdfunding.

Abstract
This study aims to empirically examine the influence of transformational leadership on job satisfaction in Jordanian commercial banks through knowledge sharing as a mediator. The data were collected from 232 employees and then analyzed through regression analysis using SPSS. The results revealed that there is a significant influence of transformational leadership on job satisfaction, as well as a significant influence of knowledge sharing on this relationship. These findings imply that if managers adopt transformational leadership, their subordinates can be satisfied with their jobs, specifically if they facilitate knowledge sharing. This study sheds light on improving organizational performance and employee engagement in a specific context and provides excellent direction for future contributions.

Abstract
Purpose
The study seeks to evaluate the effect of capital adequacy and competition on the liquidity creation of Kenyan commercial banks.
Design/methodology/approach
Unbalanced panel data from 36 Kenyan commercial banks with licenses from 2001 to 2020 is used in the study. The generalized method of moments (GMM), a two-step system, is employed in the investigation. To increase the robustness and prevent erroneous findings, serial correlation tests and instrumental validity analyses are used. The methodology developed by Berger and Bouwman (2009) is used to estimate the commercial banks' levels of liquidity creation.
Findings
The study supports the financial fragility-crowding out hypothesis by finding a significant negative effect of capital adequacy on the liquidity creation of commercial banks. The research also identifies a significant inverse relationship between competition and liquidity creation, depicting competition's value-destroying effect.
Practical implications
A trade-off exists between capital adequacy and liquidity creation, which must be carefully evaluated as changes in capital requirements are considered. The value-destroying effect of competition on liquidity creation presents a case for policy geared toward consolidating banks' operations through possible mergers and acquisitions.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first study to empirically offer evidence concurrently on the effect of competition and capital adequacy on the liquidity creation of commercial banks in a developing economy such as Kenya. Additionally, the authors employ a novel measure of competition at the firm level.

Abstract
Purpose
Personal thermal management by controlling the radiation energies of both the body and the sun can be used in all environments and contributes to sustainability components with the advantages of energy saving, low chemical usage and comfort enhancements under dynamic conditions. In this study, passive radiative heating nanocomposite films were produced using sodium alginate as the matrix and zinc oxide (ZnO) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles as nanofillers having far infrared radiation reflecting, hence passive heating functions.
Design/methodology/approach
Nanocomposite film solutions were prepared by stirring sodium alginate powder, deionized water, ZnO and Al2O3 nanoparticles (20% wt of matrix polymer) with surfactant using magnetic and ultrasonic stirrers in turn. Films produced within Petri dishes after drying at room temperature were analyzed by FT-IR, UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy and SEM for chemical, radiation management and morphological characteristics, respectively. Emissivity values giving idea about the heating performances of the films were determined with an IR camera and a hotplate system. Moreover, direct heating performances were measured by the hotplate system including a far-infrared lamp.
Findings
Results showed that the emissivity of the films increased by approximately 18% and 16% with ZnO and Al2O3 nanoparticles, respectively. Moreover, NaAlg–Al2O3 nanocomposite film exhibited passive radiative heating performance of 3.58 °C, higher than the heating performance of NaAlg–ZnO nanocomposite film which is 2.97 °C when compared to the reference NaAlg film. These results indicate that both NaAlg–ZnO and especially NaAlg–Al2O3 nanocomposite films have excellent far-infrared emission and absorption properties ensuring a significant heating effect.
Originality/value
In addition to other clothing types, the heating performance obtained with the produced nanocomposite structures may be applied to different types of cosmetic/medical applications (beauty mask, wound dresses, etc.) enabling skincare/healing with the advantage of the sodium alginate matrix.

Purpose
Drawing on the knowledge-based view and social exchange theory, this study aims to examine how top management support relates both directly and indirectly to employee creativity through knowledge management processes (acquisition and sharing) and absorptive capacity.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from 284 academics and researchers working in research centres in Iraq’s public universities to assess their perceptions of management support, knowledge management, absorptive capacity and creativity.
Findings
Performing structural equation modelling with AMOS, positive relationships were identified between top management support, knowledge management processes, absorptive capacity and employee creativity. The study findings emphasise the pivotal role of top management support in creating an environment that fosters knowledge acquisition and sharing, and enhancing absorptive capacity, in turn, amplifying employee creativity. Empirical evidence confirming the salient role of knowledge management and absorptive capacity in strengthening employee creativity in the context of Iraqi academia and researchers is presented.
Originality/value
The study shows that knowledge management processes and absorptive capacity mediate the influence of top management support on employee creativity. The premise of absorptive capacity is the individual’s ability to identify, accumulate and assimilate relevant knowledge from external sources and commercialise the gained knowledge.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of clothing fabrics, sizes and air ventilation rate on the volume and thickness of the air gap under the air ventilation garments (AVGs).
Design/methodology/approach
The geometric models of the human body and clothing were obtained by using a 3D body scanner. Then the distribution of the volume and thickness of the air gap for four clothing fabrics and three air ventilation rates (0L/S, 12L/S and 20L/S) were calculated by Geomagic software. Finally, a more suitable fabric was selected from the analysis to compare the distribution of the air gap entrapped for four clothing sizes (S, M, L and XL) and the three air ventilation rates.
Findings
The results show that the influence of air ventilation rate on the air gap volume and thickness is more obvious than that of the clothing fabrics and sizes. The higher is the air ventilation rate, the thicker is the air gap entrapped, and more evenly distributed is the air gap. It can be seen that the thickness of the air gap in the chest does not change significantly with the changes of the air ventilation rates, clothing fabrics and sizes, while the air gap in the waist is affected significantly.
Originality/value
This research provides a better understanding of the distribution of the air gap entrapped in ventilated garments, which can help in designing the optimal air gap dimensions and thus provide a basis and a reference for the design of the AVGs.
