Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the relationship between individual-level psychological resources and team resilience in the context of expatriate project management teams. It seeks to understand how personal psychological resources contribute to team resilience and explore the dynamic evolution mechanism of team resilience. The goal is to enhance team resilience among expatriates in a BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible) world, where organizations face volatile and uncertain conditions.
Design/methodology/approach
An online survey was applied for data collection, and 315 valid samples from Chinese expatriates in international construction projects were utilized for data analysis. A structural equation model (SEM) examines the relationships between personal psychological resources and team resilience. The study identifies five psychological factors influencing team resilience: Employee Resilience, Cross-cultural Adjustment, Self-efficacy, Social Support, and Team Climate. The hypothesized relationships are validated through the SEM analysis. Additionally, a fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) is constructed to explore the dynamic mechanism of team resilience formation based on the results of the SEM.
Findings
The SEM analysis confirms that employee resilience, cross-cultural adjustment, and team climate positively impact team resilience. Social support and self-efficacy also have positive effects on team climate. Moreover, team climate is found to fully mediate the relationship between self-efficacy and team resilience, as well as between social support and team resilience. The FCM model provides further insights into the dynamic evolution of team resilience, highlighting the varying impact effects of antecedents during the team resilience development process and the effectiveness of different combinations of intervention strategies.
Originality/value
This study contributes to understanding team resilience by identifying the psychological factors influencing team resilience in expatriate project management teams. The findings emphasize the importance of social support and team climate in promoting team resilience. Interventions targeting team climate are found to facilitate the rapid development of team resilience. In contrast, interventions for social support are necessary for sustainable, long-term high levels of team resilience. Based on the dynamic simulation results, strategies for cultivating team resilience through external intervention and internal adjustment are proposed, focusing on social support and team climate. Implementing these strategies can enhance project management team resilience and improve the core competitiveness of contractors in the BANI era.

Abstract
Purpose
As a distinctive form of communist heritage tourism, the ideology and government-led form of red tourism warrants an in-depth examination of how tourists consume and perceive it. This study aims to reveal tourists’ perception of red tourism through the lens of destination image.
Design/methodology/approach
This study collected 9,819 user-generated photographs within four types of red tourism destinations (RTDs) and used a computer visual and semiotic analysis approach to conduct photograph-based cognitive and affective attributes extraction. Network analysis further visualized the co-relations between cognitive images and affective images. ANOVA analysis compared the differences of the four types of destination images.
Findings
Ten dimensions of cognitive image and eight categories of affective image of red tourism were identified. It found that monuments, statues, memorial symbols were the distinctive cognitive features, and admiration was the most dominant emotion. Heterogeneity of destination images was identified among the four types of RTDs.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the study is one of the first to explore tourists’ consumption of red tourism through the lens of destination image, which reveals the inconsistencies between the officially projected images and tourists’ perceived images of red tourism. Using Plutchik’s model, it validates a series of positive and negative emotions contributing to the affective images of red tourism, which expands the findings of emotions within the extant red tourism research. Through combined applications of computer visual and semiotic analysis, ANOVA, network analysis and model visualization, the study provides an important methodological triangulation for photograph-based destination image studies.

Objetivo
Como forma distintiva del turismo del patrimonio comunista, la ideología y la forma gubernamental del turismo rojo justifican un examen en profundidad de cómo lo consumen y perciben los turistas. Este estudio pretende revelar la percepción que tienen los turistas del turismo rojo desde la perspectiva de la imagen del destino.
Diseño/metodología/enfoque
Este estudio recopiló 9.819 fotografías generadas por los usuarios dentro de cuatro tipos de destinos de turismo rojo, y utilizó un enfoque de análisis visual y semiótico por ordenador para llevar a cabo la extracción de atributos cognitivos y afectivos basados en fotografías. El análisis de redes visualizó además las correlaciones entre las imágenes cognitivas y las imágenes afectivas. El análisis ANOVA comparó las diferencias de los cuatro tipos de imágenes de destino.
Resultados
Se identificaron diez dimensiones de imagen cognitiva y ocho categorías de imagen afectiva del turismo rojo. Se descubrió que los monumentos, las estatuas y los símbolos conmemorativos eran los rasgos cognitivos distintivos, y la admiración la emoción más dominante. Se identificó una heterogeneidad de imágenes de destino entre los cuatro tipos de destinos de turismo rojo.
Originalidad/valor
El estudio es uno de los primeros en explorar el consumo de turismo rojo por parte de los turistas a través de la lente de la imagen del destino, lo que revela las incoherencias entre las imágenes proyectadas oficialmente y las imágenes percibidas por los turistas del turismo rojo. Utilizando el modelo de Plutchik, valida una serie de emociones positivas y negativas que contribuyen a las imágenes afectivas del turismo rojo, lo que amplía los hallazgos sobre las emociones dentro de la investigación existente sobre el turismo rojo. Mediante aplicaciones combinadas de análisis visual y semiótico por ordenador, ANOVA, análisis de redes y visualización de modelos, el estudio proporciona una importante triangulación metodológica para los estudios de la imagen del destino basados en fotografías.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the capabilities, limitations and potential of ChatGPT applicable to online reference services in academic libraries.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used the method of qualitative content analytics to assess the general capabilities of ChatGPT applicable in academic libraries. Two experienced academic librarians had face-to-face interactions with ChatGPT by asking ten most common questions often asked by faculty and students at the Georgia Southern University Libraries (https://library.georgiasouthern.edu/). To examine the ChatGPT’s applicability and capability, they also compared the ChatGPT with a popular online chat reference tool called LibChat, which is now widely used in academic libraries in 91 countries worldwide.
Findings
It was found that as an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered real-time chatbot ChatGPT could effectively provide faculty and students with general guidance on locating the needed information resources and services in academic libraries, though its responses might not be accurate or truthful all the time. Embedded into the LibAnswers system of the Springshare’s products (www.springshare.com/libanswers/), LibChat serves as a real-time online chat tool used by academic libraries for reference services, but it is only available during the regular librarians' duty hours. This technical limitation does not meet the dynamic needs of faculty, students, staff, and local community users. Only well-optimized AI-driven chat products like ChatGPT could provide 24/7 online services to support uninterrupted academic library services in the future.
Research limitations/implications
This study only examined the general capability and potential of ChatGPT3.5 in specific subject areas. Additional studies are needed to further explore how the latest capabilities of ChatGPT4.0 or newer version, such as its text-to-image, text-to-speech, text-to-text, text-to-video and Web search, could impact future reference services of academic libraries. ChatGPT’s primary optimization and upgrades in the future may also change and impact this study's findings. The comparison between ChatGPT and LibChat presents a significant breakthrough of the generative AI technology in academic libraries. This comparative study encourages more academic experts, faculty, librarians and scholars to track the advance of generative AI applications, including ChatGPT, adopted in academic learning environments. In addition, the ChatGPT's complete capability and potential enhanced and integrated in the future may go beyond what this study evaluated.
Originality/value
This study examined the strengths and weaknesses of ChatGPT applicable to reference services of academic libraries. Through a comparison between ChatGPT and LibChat, this study suggests that optimized AI online chatbots still have a long way to go to meet the dynamic needs of faculty and students in the ever-changing academic learning environments. To contribute to the existing research literature focusing on the rise of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, this study provides a valuable reference for the applicability of generative AI applications in academic libraries to promote more library creation and innovation in the coming years of the 21st century.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to fabricate a novel electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding composite aerogel with both thermal insulation and high temperature warning functions.
Design/methodology/approach
An emerging bio-based polypyrrole (PPy) gel/Fe3O4/calcium alginate (PFC) EMI shielding composite aerogel was prepared by freeze-drying and in situ polymerization method. First, Fe3O4/calcium alginate (CA) aerogel was obtained by freeze-drying the Fe3O4/CA mixture. Then, PPy/Fe3O4/CA was obtained by synthesizing PPy on the surface of CA/Fe3O4 aerogel through in situ polymerization. Finally, PPy/Fe3O4/CA was immersed in porphyrin solution (cross-linking agent) to get the final PFC EMI shielding composite aerogel.
Findings
Due to the matched impedance between Fe3O4 and PPy, the EMI shielding performance of PFC composite aerogel can reach up to −8 dB. In addition, the PFC EMI shielding composite aerogel also shows excellent self-extinguishing and thermal insulation properties. After leaving the flame, the burning PFC aerogel is quickly extinguished. When the PFC aerogel is placed on the heating plate at 230 °C, the temperature on the side of the aerogel away from the heating plate is only 90.3 °C after 5 min of heating. The electrical resistance of the PFC composite aerogel can be reduced from 3.62 × 104 O to 5 × 102 O to trigger the warning light after 3 s of exposure to the alcohol lamp flame. This reversible thermal resistance response characteristic can be used to give an early warning signal when the PFC encounters high temperature or flame.
Originality/value
This work provides a novel strategy for designing a multifunctional EMI shielding composite aerogel with repeatable high temperature warning performance. This PFC composite aerogel shows potential applications in the prevention of material combustion in high temperature electromagnetic environments.

Purpose
Considering that when endorsing the same product, virtual influencers with different identity types (self-created, collaborative) can have different impacts on consumers' purchasing behaviors, this paper aims to explore how to maximize the impact effects of the VIs' respective identities. It provides companies with new perspectives on endorsement strategies.
Design/methodology/approach
The interaction between VI identity type and post type (informational, storytelling) on purchase intention was analyzed in four experiments (N = 1,007), considering informational and normative social influence as intermediate mechanisms and consumer self-construal as moderators.
Findings
The findings show that self-created VI is suited to informational posts and collaborative VI to storytelling posts. This identity-content match effectively triggers the social influence mechanism: informational posts of self-created VI significantly enhance informational social influence. In contrast, storytelling posts of collaborative VI primarily stimulate normative social influence. Consumer self-construal also moderates the process of influencing mechanisms.
Originality/value
Based on social influence theory and matching theory, this paper confirms the existence of an interaction between VI identity types, which influences consumers' purchase intention through informational and normative social influence. This finding fills the research gap in the field of VI endorsement strategy. It also emphasizes the importance of consumer self-construal and contributes new insights into the related field.

Abstract
Purpose
The demand for green personal care products (GPPs) has been growing globally due to increasing health-care concerns. However, the purchase rate of these products among consumers remains low. This study aims to identify and model the key barriers to the purchase of GPPs.
Design/methodology/approach
For this purpose, the study used innovation resistance theory (IRT) as a framework to identify key barriers to the purchasing of GPPs. The barriers were identified through a systematic literature review and validated by industry and academia experts. Furthermore, using interpretive structural modelling and Matrice d’Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliquée a un Classement, the study identifies the interrelationships among the barriers and categorizes them based on their driving and dependence power.
Findings
The findings reveal that limited availability, improper labelling standard and certification, poor performance of products and lack of government regulations are key barriers to the purchase of GPPs.
Research limitations/implications
The study contributes to the existing literature on green purchase behaviour. Furthermore, it informs marketing strategies to overcome the identified barriers and increase the purchase of GPPs.
Originality/value
This study is the foremost empirical study that identifies and analyses the industry specific barriers to GPPs based on experts’ input and under the purview of IRT.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence-powered personalised recommendations (AI-PPRs) on user engagement, browsing behaviour and purchase intentions on TikTok (Douyin in China), focusing on how these recommendations affect user satisfaction and purchase intention, while also addressing potential privacy concerns. In addition, the research investigates the influence of AI-recommended product presentation, timing and placement, as well as social factors such as key opinion leaders’ (KOLs) influence on consumer decision-making.
Design/methodology/approach
Using the expectancy-value theory and the stimulus-organism-response model, this research used a qualitative methodology through interviews with Douyin users to explore their experiences and perceptions of AI-PPRs.
Findings
The findings indicate that Douyin’s proactive “push” mechanism of AI-PPRs enhances user engagement by effortlessly integrating product discovery into the entertainment experience. Content-driven AI-PPRs align with user preferences, decrease search time and increase satisfaction and purchase intentions through engaging short videos and live streaming. However, privacy concerns emerge when personalisation is perceived as excessively intrusive, leading to negative emotions and avoidance behaviours. Recommendation timing and cultural context significantly influence receptiveness, with inappropriate timing (e.g. during holidays) causing negative reactions. Technical challenges, such as network issues during live streaming, negatively impact user experience and engagement. Content quality is crucial, and poor or irrelevant content leads to negative perceptions and disengagement. While KOLs face scepticism due to perceived commercialisation, endorsements from trusted figures and authentic influencers are better received. Innovative payment methods, like “Douyin Monthly Payment”, enhance financial flexibility and promote customer loyalty. This study highlights the need to balance personalisation with privacy, emphasising the importance of content quality and authenticity in influencer marketing. For businesses using AI-PPRs, maintaining this balance is essential for preserving trust and sustaining consumer engagement and loyalty.
Originality/value
This study contributes valuable insights to the field by unravelling the intricate dynamics between AI-PPRs, user preferences and social influences. The findings provide practical implications for companies aiming to optimise personalised recommendation algorithms and enhance user engagement, thereby facilitating business growth in the dynamic short video e-commerce market.

Abstract
Purpose
This article reviews the intercultural adaptability (IA) development models for students in South Korea and China in response to the growing internationalisation of higher education. The article provides significant implications for Confucian heritage culture (CHC) countries and others that wish to enhance in higher education.
Design/methodology/approach
This scoping review systematically investigates the literature on different IA development strategies for students in higher education across these two Asian countries.
Findings
South Korea has promoted the self-growth model reflected in internationalised programmes such as English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), an international learning environment with an increasing number of international students and student exchange programmes. Through these initiatives, domestic students’ identity and intercultural learning dynamics are enriched in an intercultural learning environment. Meanwhile, China has adopted the “Outward-oriented” higher education internationalisation model to attract international students to study in Chinese universities and entice Chinese returnees through its International Talent Training Programmes. In this strategy, international students are exposed to Chinese language and cultural knowledge development programmes, and Chinese students are motivated to learn the English language and cultures through interactions with their international peers.
Originality/value
Student IA development models in CHC countries remain underexplored. This article responds to the need of higher education institutions in Asian countries that wish to access and learn from effective IA models from other CHC countries. The study makes a valuable contribution by putting forward significant recommendations for developing students’ IA in CHC countries.

Abstract
Purpose
Literature shows that the antecedents of eWoM have received limited attention and the present scales used for measuring eWoM in the hospitality and tourism industry are outdated. Therefore, this study aims to construct a new scale for the generation of positive eWoM in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Design/methodology/approach
This study developed a novel scale on eWoM based on the four dimensions of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology.
Findings
The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirms the factorial structure of the new scale. The exploratory factor analysis shows that “performance expectancy” has the highest impact on the constitution of positive eWoM with 8 items, followed by “social influence” and “facilitation condition” with 5 items each. The factor “effort expectancy” is found to have the lowest impact on the constitution of positive eWoM in the hospitality and tourism industry with 3 items. The confirmatory factor analysis in terms of the construct reliability, average variance extracted and maximum shared variance tests confirmed the model validity of the new scale.
Originality/value
This study ensures measuring eWoM with the latest norms that will assist in prudent policy formulation. These results insights into policymakers from the hospitality and tourism industry for the generation of positive eWoM towards their business which will help them achieve better customer loyalty.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the impact of Own, Others and Outer influences (O3) on green purchasing behaviour in e-commerce. The study uses the O ZONE model and Stimulus–Organism–Behaviour–Consequence (SOBC) framework to analyse the impact of green intentions, green product awareness and green self-efficacy.
Design/methodology/approach
This study collected data from 405 respondents through a self-administered questionnaire and analysed the data via partial least squares structural equation modelling and necessary condition analysis using the software SmartPLS.
Findings
The findings indicate that O3 factors significantly affect green product awareness among consumers, with “Own” having no impact in ecommerce. Furthermore, this study found that green self-efficacy fully mediates the relationship between green product awareness and purchasing intentions. Interestingly, the results suggest that e-commerce recommendations (others) and marketer persuasion (outer influence) have a greater impact on green product awareness, which in turn influences green buying intentions via green self-efficacy, compared to personal knowledge (own). Finally, it shows that green purchase intentions lead to green buying behaviour.
Practical implications
This study helps to understand how to create green product awareness through information transfer and ways to enhance green self-efficacy to motivate green buying behaviour. Hence, it offers valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers and managers in green and digital marketing, highlighting the importance of effective knowledge transfer to enhance green consumer behaviour. Marketers can better understand the factors influencing consumers’ awareness of green products, such as personal knowledge, online reviews, recommendations from e-commerce websites and marketing campaigns.
Social implications
The findings add new insights to the existing knowledge of green purchasing behaviour in e-commerce by highlighting the importance of understanding the factors that influence consumers’ green product awareness and self-efficacy. In addition, it underscores the relative impact of O3 factors on green purchasing behaviour, aiding the development of effective marketing strategies promoting green products in ecommerce platform.
Originality/value
Highlighting the ever-evolving nature of the e-commerce industry, this study stresses the importance of staying abreast of trends for marketer success. It reiterates the significance of adapting strategies to align with emerging industry practices and consumer preferences.
