Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the development and significance of sustainable finance instruments, mainly sustainable bonds. The purpose is to provide policymakers, regulators and researchers with insights into the current state of sustainable finance research and also provide future research directions.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews as a review protocol and addressed four research questions concerning publication and citation trends, major themes and future research directions in sustainable bonds.
Findings
This study indicated growing attention in sustainable bond research, with increasing publication and citation trends. Along with identifying research themes, the findings include future direction on pricing and risk assessment, market dynamics and growth potential, policy and regulatory environments and global perspectives with local context.
Research limitations/implications
Although this study provides a robust analysis of the current literature, it relies on existing publications and may not capture the latest developments in sustainable bond research. However, policymakers can benefit from insights into the growth and dynamics of sustainable bonds, enabling them to implement effective policies and regulations. Investors and businesses can use this research to inform their environmental, social and governance investment strategies and decision-making processes.
Originality/value
This paper suggests a comprehensive overview of the state of research in sustainable bonds, highlighting the emerging trends and research priorities. It also underlines the significance of sustainable finance in achieving sustainability goals and provides a roadmap for future research.

Purpose
This study aims to examine the effects of Internet of Things (IoT) technology on efficiency and patient care in Italian and Israeli intensive care units (ICUs). The goal is to study how IoT might improve care settings by controlling health dynamics and responding to life-threatening circumstances.
Design/methodology/approach
This survey-based research explores IoT use, challenges and adaptability in ICUs in both countries. Interviews and surveys of ICU health-care workers are used to get both quantitative and qualitative data on integrating experiences and perspectives.
Findings
The research found significant variations between Italy and Israel due to technology infrastructures and health-care practices. Israel shows a more concentrated deployment in a major medical centre with advanced but limited uptake, whereas Italy shows application throughout ICUs highlighting regional health-care system disparities. Interoperability, data security and IoT training are common difficulties.
Research limitations/implications
This research has limitations. One drawback is the geographical dispersion of study sites, with a bigger sample size in Italy than in Israel. This discrepancy may affect findings applicability. However, these preliminary findings provide a foundation for further research into the complexities of deploying IoT in various health-care settings.
Originality/value
This study compares IoT integration in two national health-care systems, adding to health-care technology literature. Regional variations affect technology adoption, but IoT may enhance ICU operations and patient care, according to one research. This study helps health-care practitioners, academics and policymakers understand the pros and cons of IoT in health care.

Purpose
This study aims to delve into the underlying factors that play a pivotal role in shaping effective digital marketing communication (DMC) to promote sustainability. Further, it explores the mediating effect of online customer experience (OCE) on the dynamic relationship between DMC and sustainable purchase intention (SPI) and the moderating impact of social media marketing activities (SMMAs) on the relationship between DMC and OCE.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on single cross-sectional survey, 300 responses from green apparel users are analyzed by using partial least squares-structural equation modeling to corroborate the relationships among DMC, OCE, SMMAs and SPI.
Findings
Perceived usefulness, ease of use, web attractiveness, hedonic motivation and subjective norms significantly impact DMC, which in turn positively influences OCE and SPI. Further, OCE significantly mediates the relationship between DMC and SPI, highlighting the crucial role of OCE. The moderation analysis shows that interactivity negatively moderates the DMC-OCE relationship, suggesting that excessive interactivity may diminish the OCE, while personalization and trendiness do not have significant moderating effects.
Practical implications
The findings provide valuable insights for marketers to align their DMC strategies with sustainable business initiatives to create a seamless online experience, thereby fostering SPI in the contemporary digital era.
Originality/value
While previous studies have examined aspects of these relationships separately, this study integrates them into a cohesive framework to provide a more holistic understanding of how digital marketing strategies can promote sustainability.

Purpose
The primary objective of the present study was to develop an appropriate scale for evaluating LMX by investigating how individuals personally perceive and encounter distinct relationships (both high quality and low quality) with their supervisors, with a specific focus on the Indian context.
Design/methodology/approach
The scale was administered on a sample of 290 middle-level managers from two large manufacturing organizations located in North India.
Findings
The factors identified as important for the construct of leader-member exchange were affect, loyalty, and contribution.
Research limitations/implications
The internal consistency reliability of the LMX contribution dimension is very low. Future researchers should add a few additional items to increase the reliability of the contribution scale of LMX scale so that it fulfills adequate criteria of reliability. Further, the supervisor–subordinate relationship from both supervisor and subordinate perspectives should also be examined.
Practical implications
This study has made significant advancements in the field of LMX. The findings will also be utilized by the authorities of the organization in focusing future training for its managers.
Social implications
The findings of this research will help not only advancement in the field of LMX but will also help the manager using LMX to influence subordinates to have better knowledge on which factors to focus on to get better results.
Originality/value
Overall, the results of the current study provide evidence for the sound reliability and validity of the leader-member exchange scale with employees of Indian manufacturing organizations, supporting its use with these populations. Further, this scale is suitable not only in Indian culture but also in the Western cultural context, as the results corroborate the findings of Western scholars, indicating a fair level of cross-cultural validity. However, future research should also address the cross-validation of the factor structure of LMX on other samples and occupations.

Purpose
The primary purpose of this paper is to examine the role of perceived trust, information quality, positive word of mouth and societal norms toward real estate purchase intention. The study also examines how pro-environmental self-identity mediates the relationship between positive word of mouth and real estate purchase intent, as well as between societal norms and real estate purchase intention. This research aims to delve into these intricate dynamics through a multidimensional lens.
Design/methodology/approach
The research employs existing scholarly works and measurable variables evaluated through a five-point Likert scale, hypothesis testing and mediation analysis to examine the proposed framework. A structured survey comprising six sections was administered, yielding 385 valid responses. The data analysis process included the use of confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling techniques.
Findings
The analysis indicates that pro-environmental self-identity has the most significant influence on real estate purchase intention, closely followed by positive word of mouth. Incorporating eco-friendly themes in marketing campaigns significantly boosts purchase intentions. However, perceived trust does not significantly impact purchase intentions. Other factors, such as information quality and societal norms, also play significant roles, underscoring the importance of understanding the complex dynamics shaping consumer decisions in the real estate market.
Research limitations/implications
This research exclusively targets responses from young consumers in specific regions of India. Future studies should aim for a more extensive geographic scope, encompassing a diverse global population for a broader understanding of the subject.
Originality/value
Based on previous literature, this study is the first to identify the elements influencing the inclination to buy environmentally friendly real estate through social commerce.

Abstract
Purpose
This research investigates the barriers for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) adoption among the patients in India. Despite the established role of CAM in the Indian healthcare system for several years, the WHO (WHO) reports limited adoption of these therapies among Indian patients. This study investigates the key barriers toward wider CAM use within the Indian context.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used a combined interpretive structural modeling (ISM)-MICMAC approach to identify barriers to CAM usage. In the first phase, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to understand the barriers. Subsequently, experts in the Indian healthcare system were identified and interviewed to capture the contextual intricacies of these barriers within the Indian context.
Findings
The study identified ten key barriers to CAM adoption through ISM. A hierarchical model was developed to understand the relationships and interactions among these barriers, revealing their linkages. A MICMAC chart was created to determine the driving and dependent power of the barriers, categorizing them as dependent barriers, linkage barriers or independent barriers. The House of CAM framework was then derived from the ISM-MICMAC analysis, providing a structured, sequential approach for CAM adoption.
Practical implications
The awareness of the potential benefits and usage of CAM is significantly low among Indian patients. There is a pressing need to investigate and systematically conceptualize the barriers to CAM adoption. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, insurers, practitioners of alternative and complementary medicine, multi-specialty hospitals offering CAM services and regulatory bodies. Understanding these barriers will enable these stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that effectively address these issues.
Originality/value
This research makes substantial contributions to the understanding of barriers to the adoption of CAM. Through a comprehensive investigation, the study introduces the House of CAM framework developed using ISM-MICMAC analysis, providing a strategic approach for targeted intervention against identified barriers.

Purpose
Predicting dimensional and geometrical errors in 3D printing parts during the design stage can significantly enhance the product’s quality. This study aims to predict the form deviation and process capability in additive manufacturing (AM) specimens considering layer thickness, laser power and scan speed parameters in the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) method. Various machine learning (ML) techniques are implemented to estimate the form deviation and process capability with the highest accuracy in 3D-printed cylindrical parts as a case study.
Design/methodology/approach
The workflow started by simulating the LPBF AM process using a finite element modeling approach. Then, different ML algorithms like artificial neural networks are used to predict the form deviation. The process capability value is forecasted using some classification ML models and process capability indices (PCIs) for cylindrical parts. Finally, concentricity tolerance classification is performed for cylindrical parts, which can ensure quality control issues in the production stage.
Findings
Results present an accuracy of about 93% for predicting form deviations and 95% accuracy for predicting PCI C_pm in PCI classification based on random forest model as an ML algorithm.
Originality/value
The noteworthy point of the research is accessing the form deviation due to AM and process capability evaluation in the AM process before the production stage, which has not been studied before based on the author’s knowledge. So that the product quality is evaluated based on the shape deviation and its tolerances in the AM process digital chain.

Purpose
Recent research has established the importance of grit as a psychological resource in yielding a number of beneficial outcomes. However, the mechanisms linking grit with its consequences are yet to be explored fully. Drawing upon self-determination theory (Deci and Ryan, 2000) and the self-concordance model (Sheldon and Elliot, 1999), the present study aims to examine the impact of grit on employee well-being via the indirect path of need satisfaction. Further, the study explores the moderating role of psychological empowerment in the relationship between grit and need satisfaction.
Design/methodology/approach
The data were gathered from Indian service sector employees (n = 798). Standardized instruments were used to measure the variables under investigation.
Findings
The findings ascertained a positive relationship between grit and employee well-being in the organizational context. The structural equation modeling analysis suggested that need satisfaction partially mediated the path leading from grit to employee well-being. Further, the findings obtained from PROCESS Macro analysis revealed a conditional moderating effect of psychological empowerment in bolstering the hypothesized mediation path involving grit, need satisfaction, and employee well-being.
Originality/value
The present study contributes to positive organizational behavior literature by uncovering the inter-linkage between grit and well-being in terms of intermediary mechanism. The theoretical and managerial implications, along with the limitations of the study, have been discussed.

Purpose
The study aims to examine the association between virtual communication effectiveness (VCE), leadership effectiveness (LE) and the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in the post-pandemic era.
Design/methodology/approach
A survey was conducted among 305 employees in the Indian IT sector using an online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using reliability, validity and moderated regression analysis.
Findings
The findings reveal that VCE is a significant predictor of LE. EI plays a significant moderating role between VCE and LE.
Originality/value
This study establishes the role of EI in pre-empting LE. Furthermore, it results in the advancement of improved tools for the selection, training and development of leadership talent. Research on virtual communication (VC) and EI enhances our understanding of effective leadership. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the present research is one of the first to link and standardize various practices of VC, and EI to increase LE in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate whether and how high-growth start-ups led by young Italian entrepreneurs are using their unique resources and capabilities – such as innovative business models, technological advancements and entrepreneurial drive – to address key environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges.
Design/methodology/approach
Adopting a qualitative approach and grounded in resource-based view theory, the study analyses data from 42 in-depth interviews with founders and co-founders of high-growth start-ups operating in the Italian context.
Findings
The findings reveal that 85% of the young Italian entrepreneurs interviewed are leveraging their unique resources and organisational capabilities, including adaptability, sustainability-oriented innovation and stakeholder engagement, to tackle ESG challenges effectively. Specifically, start-ups are innovating in areas such as renewable energy adoption, inclusive employment practices and governance transparency.
Practical implications
Ad hoc policies can play an important role in creating supportive environments that encourage start-ups to innovate sustainably and align their operations with ESG principles. For entrepreneurs, this study provides a roadmap for incorporating sustainability into their business models, emphasising ESG’s role in achieving societal and environmental impact alongside economic growth.
Social implications
High-growth start-ups are shown to play a transformative role in addressing critical social and environmental challenges. By prioritising ESG factors, these organisations not only contribute to environmental conservation and social equity but also set benchmarks for sustainable corporate practices, driving broader social change.
Originality/value
This study uniquely explores the intersection of entrepreneurship and sustainability within high-growth Italian start-ups, shedding light on how young entrepreneurs address ESG challenges – an area largely underexplored in current literature.
