Abstract
Purpose
A critical factor to the success of IPOs is investor demand, which can be observed from the IPO subscription pattern. Therefore, the objective of this study is to review the studies on the demand of IPOs, including empirical and theoretical literature, due to the substantial growth of IPOs over the last two decades.
Design/methodology/approach
This study extracted secondary data regarding IPO demand published from 1988 to 2022 from the Scopus database. We conducted a meta-literature review for qualitative and quantitative methods on the resulting 284 articles using citation analysis (Harzing’s Publish or Perish and VOS viewer software) and content analysis.
Findings
The findings revealed significant elements of the literature, including countries, institutions, journals, authors, articles and topics. Based on the IPO literature review and analyses, this paper developed future research questions to facilitate an extension of the research. Additionally, this paper developed a dual perspective of the present state of IPO research. First, it asserts that the demand for IPOs is not limited to certain countries, jurisdictions or vintages. Second, there are very few studies on demand for IPOs available despite IPOs’ economic worth.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study of its kind to present an empirical evaluation of demand for IPOs using inclusive mapping.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to present systematic analysis of research concerning the intersection of human resource management (HRM) and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within a digitalized economy further analyzing the trends in research with specific emphasis on utilization of diverse AI technologies within HRM.
Design/methodology/approach
This research is based on bibliometric analyses and content analyses. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses review methodology is implemented, using the Scopus database as the primary source which gathered 1,414 articles between 1978 and 2024. This study investigates publishing trends, the most prolific countries, universities, journals, publications and authors in the field. Further, the research trends based on the use of AI in HRM were accomplished through scientific mapping using VOSviewer.
Findings
The outcomes demonstrate a rising inclination toward using various AI techniques in HRM which shows increasing influence and growing appeal of the subject. The research uncovers the deployment of diverse technologies, including emerging ones, within the HRM field. It accomplishes this by scrutinizing the connections among various keywords and unearths both contradictions and focal areas of interest within the domain.
Originality/value
The study contributes to the existing body of literature by ascertaining suggestions for further research in the field of HRM integrated with various AI technologies. The integration of these technologies in HR holds a promising and optimistic outlook for the managers, thereby enhancing employee productivity.

Abstract
Purpose
Women's empowerment plays a pivotal role in achieving sustainable and sustainable development in developed and developing contexts. The present paper explores the effect of technology orientation (TO), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and digital technology self-efficacy (DTSE) on digital innovation (DI) and women's empowerment (WE) among Saudi women.
Design/methodology/approach
This is a cross-sectional study which applies a deductive approach. The study collected data from women in Saudi Arabia actively involved in entrepreneurship and utilizing digital technology. The survey questionnaire is used as a prevalent tool to get responses. Finally, the study concludes based on 316 valid samples.
Findings
The structural equation modeling through SmartPls4, the results exert an insignificant effect of TO on both DI and women empowerment. The study confirmed a positive significant impact of EO on DI but not on WE. Moreover, the DTSE construct is found to be a significant and robust analyst of DI and WE. With regard to mediating effects, DI mediates the relationship between EO, DTSE and WE, but not between TO and WE.
Practical implications
The study's findings contribute to more comprehensive and effective initiatives that foster innovation, gender equality, and WE in entrepreneurial networks. The study would assist policymakers and planners in developing robust strategies focusing on digitalization to boost DI and WE through enhanced DTSE. The study would also offer guidelines for policymakers to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) generally and specifically for Saudi Vision 2030, which is particularly ambitious to promote WE.
Originality/value
The study fills the gaps by offering a bunch of predictors, i.e., TO, EO, DTSE and DI, which predict WE in the Saudi context.

Abstract
Purpose
Under the integrated perspective of the Net Valence Framework (NVF) and Theory of Reasoned action (TRA), this research intends to examine the impact of drivers (perceived risks (PRs) and benefits) on FinTech adoption (FA) as well as on business sustainability (BS) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Oman. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of drivers (perceived risks and benefits) on FinTech adoption (FA) and business sustainability (BS) of SMEs in Oman , under the integrated perspective of the Net Valence Framework (NVF) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA).
Design/methodology/approach
Primary data was collected from 402 owners and managers of SMEs in Muscat, Oman using a purposive sampling method. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares was mainly applied to assess the PRs and perceived benefits (PBs) determining both FA and BS of SMEs.
Findings
The results indicate that PBs (economic, convenience, transaction efficiency) positively impact FA, while PRs (financial, legal, security, operational) act as deterrents toward FA. Both the benefits and risks significantly influence BS. FA itself fosters sustainability, and PBs directly enhance it through ease of use, cost reduction and knowledge acquisition. Conversely, PRs hinder sustainability due to concerns about skills gaps, security, social inclusion and environmental considerations.
Practical implications
The research forms a model capturing the pros and cons of FA of SMEs to provide stakeholders with ideas that would promote sustainability and drive fintech-based growth and innovation. For instance, by improving financial management efficiency, increasing market access and enhancing competitiveness, SMEs can adopt fintech solutions to support sustainable growth and achieve Sustainable Development Goals across the region’s economy.
Originality/value
The current research, through the lens of the NVF as well as TRA, explores the contribution of FA determined by PRs and benefits toward BS of SMEs in the context of Oman.

Abstract
Purpose
This study examines the impact of five dimensions of decent work on the faculty engagement in Pakistan’s higher education institutions. Furthermore, it examines the moderating influence of intrinsic religiosity on the associations above.
Design/methodology/approach
This research employed a cross-sectional approach to collect data from 542 faculty members working with higher education institutions through electronic and in-person questionnaire administration.
Findings
The findings indicate that safe interpersonal working conditions, opportunities for free time and rest, adequate compensation, and the availability of healthcare services significantly positively impact the level of work engagement among faculty members. Additionally, the research revealed that intrinsic religiosity reinforces the previously established significant associations.
Research limitations/implications
The research acknowledges specific constraints that could impact the applicability of its findings, including the utilization of a cross-sectional methodology, the dependence on self-reported information, and the possibility of sample biases. Subsequent investigations may rectify these constraints to provide a more all-encompassing comprehension of the subject matter.
Practical implications
The findings possess practical significance for the management of HEIs in cultivating an ideal working atmosphere for faculty members. Ensuring adequate compensation, secure working environments and healthcare accessibility is underscored to enhance faculty engagement. Furthermore, acknowledging the significance of intrinsic religiosity can improve faculty engagement.
Originality/value
This research contributes to the current body of literature by investigating the complex relationship among decent work, faculty engagement, and intrinsic religiosity in the specific context of higher education institutions in Pakistan.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to examine the relationship between the community and environment disclosures and the long-run share price performance of Malaysian initial public offering (IPO) companies.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used secondary data through the content analysis of the annual reports and DataStream of 115 sampled IPOs listed on Bursa Malaysia from 2007 to 2015. The present study incorporated weighted least squares and quantile least squares to evaluate the relationship between the community and environment disclosures and IPO performance.
Findings
The results show a positive and significant relationship between the extent and quality of community disclosures and IPO performance; while the extent and quality of environment disclosures have a negative and positive relationship, respectively, with IPO performance. These results suggest that community and environmental activities can be considered an effort to enhance Malaysian IPOs.
Practical implications
These results suggest that Malaysian IPO companies should be involved consistently in corporate social responsibility disclosure, i.e. community and environmental activities, as they have a significant impact on the performance of Malaysian IPOs. The findings can facilitate financial institutions and regulatory agencies in driving companies to be more responsible regarding community and environmental disclosures.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study provides new insights into the relationship between the community and environment disclosures and the performance of Malaysian IPO companies.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine how users’ intention to adopt online banking is influenced by perceived trust (PT), awareness (AWE) and social influence (SI) and to assess whether customer relationship management (CRM) moderates the impact of these factors on adoption intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from 565 respondents in Pakistan using a stratified sampling technique. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS-4 to examine the proposed relationships.
Findings
This study’s findings reveal that PT, AWE and SI do not directly influence users’ intention to adopt online banking. Trust impacts intention through perceived ease of use, while AWE and SI affect intention via both perceived usefulness and ease of use. CRM negatively moderates SI but positively moderates the effects of PT and AWE on users’ intention.
Originality/value
This study explores the novel role of CRM as a moderator, offering fresh insights into how CRM enhances the impact of PT, AWE and SI on online banking adoption.

Purpose
The study explores new aspects of financial investment management with technological involvement, providing detailed knowledge for future research. It identifies gaps in the literature and summarizes key research topics, utilizing a precise data collection framework.
Design/methodology/approach
The study is structured using systematic and bibliometric analysis with the antecedents, decisions, outcome-theories, context, and methods (ADO-TCM) framework. Data from Scopus and Web of Science were filtered based on Q1, Q2, social sciences citation index (SSCI) and Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) criteria, resulting in 128 articles majorly emphasizing the last ten years. The “R” package facilitated bibliometric analysis, starting with data cleaning and import into Biblioshiny for effective results interpretation.
Findings
The study found that artificial intelligence detects and mitigates biases in investment decisions through rigorous pattern analysis, including social and ethical biases. The ADO-TCM framework revealed emerging theories, such as robo-advisory theory, offering new directions in behavioral finance for researchers and practitioners. The top authors and articles highlighted existing work in financial management.
Originality/value
The study’s originality is highlighted by its use of unique frameworks for data collection (SPAR-4-SLR) and interpretation (ADO-TCM).
