Abstract
Purpose
The research aims at scrutinising food safety as a global concept and problem that has numerous cross-cultural aspects reflecting the diversity of consumption patterns and the culturally differing role of the consumer as well as mirroring the heterogeneity of socio-economic environment.
Design/methodology/approach
In this paper, the role of consumer in food safety-related academic literature is investigated in seven languages (countries) including American English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Mandarin Chinese and Russian from a multidisciplinary, cross-cultural perspective.
Findings
With the aid of seven linguistic corpora built from the above mentioned languages, the research reveals noteworthy differences in the consumer-focused approach.
Research limitations/implications
The study could have benefited from the inclusion of further languages (i.e. Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi etc.), the authors' lack of reliable language skills outside of the covered domain had to be taken into account. Further to that, the analysis conducted is based on a static observation, while food safety-related consumer science is developing quickly. Therefore, a dynamic analysis of consumer roles would most certainly yield in further salient outcome.
Practical implications
Food safety can be regarded in many ways–this is reflected in different national legislations, dissimilar country-level risk communication patterns as well as different perception of basic notions of food safety. It has not yet been extensively analysed, however, how different languages use the notion of food safety or consumer, which activities and which characteristics are most connected to these notions, and how food safety-related topics and the focus of scientific discourse in different languages differ from each other.
Social implications
Practical implications of the research results also include preparatory activities for food safety risk communication campaigns. In this field, the cultural aspects of food safety are as important as scientific risk assessment. The tools presented in this paper help a quick and comprehensive analysis of linguistic corpora, which could be used either in academic or general literature resources, even press releases. The results also call attention to the culture-driven perspectives of food safety; these new insights can be applied by researchers to review food safety literature more exhaustively considering the cultural context. Future elaboration of the topic (e.g. by introducing a time factor that would enable a dynamic analysis) can further enhance the utility value of similar studies.
Originality/value
The novelty of the article lies in the unique application of corpus linguistic methods with the aim of investigating the area, the trends and phenomena of food safety-related science. This study combines the achievements of food safety-related consumer science with corpus linguistic methods.

Abstract
Purpose
Security is one of the most important challenges for contemporary integrated urban developments. In Hungary, every strategic document highlights this goal, seeking social and smart city solutions to the problem. Yet, what about crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED)? The purpose of the paper is to introduce a Central-European perspective into the international discussion of the topic.
Design/methodology/approach
Focusing on European Union-funded renewal of public space in the historic city centre of Budapest, the research investigates how urban security can be facilitated through urban planning and design. The analysis of two projects based on design documents and interviews with actors highlights the importance of CPTED, although it is not recognised officially either in the development or in the management phase.
Findings
March 15th Square is an attractive contemporary public space in the tourist-historic city centre. The project was centrally planned, executed with typical EU indicators, but without any special requirements for security. The process resulted in a safescape. By contrast, the main principal for the renewal of Teleki László Square, the first Hungarian example of community-based planning, was to instil a feeling of security. The public square became a fenced defensible space.
Practical implications
The analysis method can be used for other projects evaluating changes in urban security due to public space renewal: history, requirements for security, design solutions for space division, materials and urban furniture, as well as use of space and management after the regeneration.
Originality/value
The paper uncovers Hungarian cases where environmental crime prevention criteria are not explicitly but implicitly present in contemporary urban planning and design. In relation to urban security, it highlights the gap that exists among disciplines, indicative of a lack of dialogue among policymakers, researchers, designers and management.

Abstract
Purpose
This study investigates the level of artificial intelligence (AI) awareness among library leaders, practitioners and scientists of Indonesian academic libraries to elucidate the benefits of AI implementation and its necessary infrastructure and challenges.
Design/methodology/approach
The study adopted a purposive sampling technique to select the 38 participants and thematic analysis to analyze the data, identifying eight themes: understanding of AI, AI adoption, benefits of AI, competencies needed to support AI, facilities to support AI, factors supporting AI adoption, AI-inhibiting factors and expectations of AI.
Findings
Different viewpoints provided full awareness among library stakeholders and sufficient information to begin AI initiatives in Indonesian libraries as leaders, practitioners and scientists had a favorable, open and encouraging outlook on AI.
Research limitations/implications
The study does not investigate variations in perspectives between the participants, but it examines their understanding of AI and elaborates the results into the concept of an intelligent library. Moreover, this study only uses samples from academic libraries.
Practical implications
Libraries can take these results into consideration before implementing AI, especially in technology and facilities, librarian competency with regard to AI and leadership roles in AI projects.
Social implications
Library boards and library associations can use this research as a source to create guidelines about AI implementation in academic libraries.
Originality/value
The study addresses the gap in the research on university libraries' readiness and awareness to implement AI, especially in developing countries.

Abstract
Purpose
The attack angle of stencil printing squeegees with different geometries was analysed using finite element modelling.
Design/methodology/approach
A finite element model (FEM) was developed to determine the attack angle during the stencil printing. The material properties of the squeegee were included in the model according to the parameters of steel AISI 4340, and the model was validated by experimental measurements. Two geometric parameters were investigated; two different unloaded angles (45° and 60°) and four overhang sizes of the squeegee (6, 15, 20 and 25 mm).
Findings
It was found that the deflection of the blade is nearly homogenous along the length of the squeegee. This implies that the attack angle does not change significantly along the squeegee length. The results showed significant differences between the initial and the attack angle. For example, the angle of the squeegee with 15 mm overhang size and with 60° initial angle decreased by more than 5° for a specific squeegee force of 0.3 N/mm; resulting in an attack angle of 53.4°.
Originality/value
The attack angle during the printing is considerably lower than the initial angle as a result of the printing force. The papers, which were dealing with the numerical modelling of the stencil printing presumed that the squeegees were having their initial angle. This could have led to invalid numerical results. Therefore, we decided to investigate the attack angle during stencil printing for squeegees with different initial geometries to enhance the numerical modelling of stencil printing.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore adaptable Buddhist teachings in economic circumstances, and provide a firm theoretical foundation for a possible Buddhist management approach. It aims to show that the application of Buddhist practical wisdom is contributing to achieve more beneficial economic outcome and management practices.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper is overviewing the Buddhist teachings, which aims at the cessation of suffering. It emphasizes tenets influencing right livelihood and economic practice. Further it investigates the mainstream economic system and Buddhist economics. It compares the two economic approaches by making parallel constructions of them, and reveals the foundation of a new management approach stem from the Buddhist view of economic affairs.
Findings
The application of the Buddhist values of mindfulness, non-harming and compassion in management practice serves adequate solutions to the most pressing issues of economics, since it is inherently fair, just and economically efficient. It allows an individually-, socially- and environmentally friendly management praxis by employing a minimizing framework.
Practical implications
The evidence that doing business in the Buddhist way is economically efficient is the foundation of an alternative management practice. Thus, managers and entrepreneurs are encouraged to employ a Buddhist way for management.
Social implications
Applying Buddhist teachings to economics alleviates the most pressing problems of the society. It contributes to equality, justice and the cessation of poverty by ensuring basic necessities to people.
Originality/value
The paper sets up a parallel investigation of Buddhism, mainstream economics, and Buddhist economics by making a parallel model of them. It contrasts neoclassical economics with Buddhist economics, and ensures a firm foundation for Buddhist management approaches.

Abstract
Purpose
Replacement of milk fat with vegetable fats (e.g. coconut oil or palm fat) in sour cream is a well-established practice among producers – these products are called sour cream imitations or sour cream analogues. Although sour cream imitations are legitimate products, consumers might be confused by them. The purpose of this paper is to assess the familiarity of sour cream imitations, the opinion of consumers, and to map the factors that may affect purchasing decision.
Design/methodology/approach
A quantitative consumer survey (n=1,000) has been conducted in 2017 based on personal interviews. Data were analysed by descriptive statistics and partial least squares structural equation modelling.
Findings
Results showed that the majority of Hungarian consumers have already purchased a sour cream imitation. In total, 69.65 per cent of them bought the imitation product accidentally: packaging and placement on the shelves were mentioned as major reasons. And 44.68 per cent of the respondents consider this product category to be misleading. Path modelling revealed that the perceived price-value ratio of the product and the respondent’s culinary skill, knowledge, consciousness and general preference of sour cream have a significant impact on the willingness to buy of sour cream imitations.
Originality/value
Sour cream imitations are accepted as reasonable cheaper alternatives to sour cream as it has been revealed by descriptive statistical methods and structural equation modelling. However, producers and retailers should avoid misleading packaging and product placement. General communication to broaden consumer knowledge would be also important. The study provides evidence-based input for producers, retailers, marketing experts and policy makers on consumer behaviour regarding food product analogues.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to give a comprehensive solution method for the manipulation of parts with complex geometries arriving in bulk into a robotic assembly cell. As bin-picking applications are still not reliable in intricate workcells, first, the problem is transformed to a semi-structured pick-and-place application, then by collecting and organizing the required process planning steps, a methodology is formed to achieve reliable factory applications even in crowded assembly cell environments.
Design/methodology/approach
The process planning steps are separated into offline precomputation and online planning. The offline phase focuses on preparing the operation and reducing the online computational burdens. During the online phase, the parts laying in a semi-structured arrangement are first recognized and localized based on their stable equilibrium using two-dimensional vision. Then, the picking sequence and corresponding collision-free robot trajectories are planned and optimized.
Findings
The proposed method was evaluated in a geometrically complex experimental workcell, where it ensured precise, collision-free operation. Moreover, the applied planning processes could significantly reduce the execution time compared to heuristic approaches.
Research limitations/implications
The methodology can be further generalized by considering multiple part types and grasping modes. Additionally, the automation of grasp planning and the enhancement of part localization, sequence planning and path smoothing with more advanced solutions are further research directions.
Originality/value
The paper proposes a novel methodology that combines geometrical computations, image processing and combinatorial optimization, adapted to the requirements of flexible pick-and-place applications. The methodology covers each required planning step to reach reliable and more efficient operation.
