A moving performance

A moving performance

Marconi is implementing, for Bombardier Transportation, an advanced, integrated communications and security system for the new Automated People Mover being installed at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as part of an airport redevelopment project. This new Automated People Mover will be 64 cars in phase one, be fully automated and will run along almost five miles of track supported by 12 train stations. The Automated People Mover will connect the airport's current Terminals A, B, C and E and the new International Terminal D, as well as the future Terminal F at Dallas/Fort Worth, which served more than 65 million passengers in 2001 and ranks third in the world for flight operations with nearly 2,300 flights a day. The Marconi solution differs from traditional approaches of implementing analogue communications systems. Instead, Marconi employs a single, scalable, digital network for operational and emergency communications, networked video surveillance, and command and control of the Automated People Mover. Marconi will provide a turnkey, fully integrated solution that combines innovative design, multi-service network, best of breed components, installation and training. The solution will provide Bombardier with a competitive advantage in pursuing business at other airports. For more information on Marconi, go to http://www.marconi.com
