A consistent message
A consistent message
The GSM Association, the voice of the world's network operators, recently unveiled details of the next phase of its "M-Services Initiative" – further refining the requirements of terminals – to ensure that consumers experience consistently available services through the mobile Internet. M-Services was initiated by the GSM Association in June last year to promote the seamless underpinning of wireless data services with a consistent platform, and accelerate world-wide growth of GPRS services. Importantly, the Association points toward the success of SMS globally, stressing that Multimedia Messaging services could have great potential – underpinned by the M-Services approach of common delivery mechanisms, intuitive menus and simplicity of use. Implementation of M-Services Phase II will help handset manufacturers define in detail the design, functionality and user experience of the handsets, facilitate higher levels of customer satisfaction and therefore increase usage and revenue for the industry.
