E-business software provider Epicor is offering customers hosted enterprise solutions under the name Epicor eCentre. Aimed at mid-market companies, the service is intended to remove the hassle associated with running integrated solutions. Products on offer include front office, back office, e-commerce, procurement, manufacturing, integration into human resources and payroll, and project management, all of which will be offered on a fixed-monthly fee basis. Amy Mizoras, senior application service provider (ASP) analyst for IDC, feels that mid-market companies can expect fast implementations through this scheme. Mizoras also noted that mid-market companies would be able to build a global e-business presence using the hosted model, something that would be difficult for most companies to achieve internally.
