Global? Warming?

Global? Warming?

We, in the UK, are just coming to the end of a particularly windy and wet winter – which came hard on the heels of a wet summer. There are various views as to whether any of this is down to global warming. The main scientific evidence suggests that it is not necessarily so – that weather patterns over the last few hundred years have caused such "exceptional" periods. This, to some, means that global warming is off the hook. But because it cannot be proved to be the cause of this particular winter, does not mean it is not having a slow and steady effect on climate. The jury is still out – but it is wise to be cautious, and to assume it IS having an effect. This means it is still important for us all to lead our personal – and our business – lives with a view to preserving the world's atmosphere and its resources for future generations. This is why there will be a track on "green productivity" at this year's World Productivity Congress the stakes are being continually raised, and we're all in the game.
