No smoke
No smoke
I saw a theory recently which suggested that the increasing use of mobile phones is stopping youngsters from smoking. The theory is that they need the money to spend on calls and would rather have the "street cred" of an always-on, always in-use, mobile phone than be associated with yesterdays' cool of smoking – that is evidently "for kids" nowadays. It's an ill wind … Unfortunately, the story went on to suggest that some marketeer had dreamt up a scheme to send advertisements and promotions to mobiles via text messages (SMS) to cash in on this connected culture. Perhaps, it really is an ill wind.
