IBM's ThinkPad 600X is the latest in the line of the award-winning ThinkPad notebooks and features the latest Intel Mobile Pentium III processors with SpeedStep technology. Additionally, there are new models preloaded with Windows 2000 Professional - Microsoft's new operating system that has additional features for mobile users and is easier to use and manage. These models are now available in the UK. The ThinkPad 600X has a 56K V. 90 Mini-PCI modem, a 12GB SMART hard disk drive, a bright 13.3 inch display, enhanced graphics and expandable memory up to 576 MB. It features the renowned ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint pointing device with "Press-to-Select" scrolling and magnifying options. The ThinkPad 600X's modular UltraslimBay enables users to easily swap out a number of options by IBM, including a second battery, hard disk drive or zip drive.
