Contract Percentages Study

Contract Percentages Study

This study, by BCIS, reveals that in the second quarter of 2002, preliminaries as a percentage of total contract sums (excluding contingencies) averaged 14.7 per cent. This is the highest level since the fourth quarter of 1979 when prelims averaged 17.7 per cent. BCIS believe that this high figure reflects hikes in contractors' insurance premiums for employers' liability insurance and also increasing confidence about future workloads. The study is available as part of the BCIS Bulletin Service or individually, price £90.00. For further information contact BCIS. Tel: 44 (0)20 7695 1500.
