http://climatechange.umaine.edu/Research/MaineClimate/Sensor_Tech.html
The University of Maine Sensor Technology for Environmental Monitoring is part of the Laboratory for Surface Science & Technology (LASST). LASST is an interdisciplinary research center that specializes in the development of novel materials, devices, and sensors for detecting a wide range of environmentally toxic substances, industrial chemicals, and biomedical compounds.
The link above describes two of its chemical sensors for environmental monitoring and provides a portal to UMaine’s unique Climate Change Institute.
Danfoss
Danfoss IXA is a privately owned Denmark company that develops optical sensors for the measurement of environmental and energy parameters, gasses, temperatures, etc. in harsh environments.
Danfoss’ easy-to-navigate web site provides introductory information on its: technology and products, which are comprised of IR measurement technology, interfaces and measurable gasses; applications, which include marine, agriculture, and horticulture; partners, and news.
Centre for Research in Energy and the Environment
The Centre for Research in Energy and the Environment (CRE+E) at Robert Gordon University delivers expertise in renewable energy, advanced water and air treatment technology, environmental sensing and environmental catalysis.
The homepage of CRE+E details its mission and vision, while the rest of this clear and concise site contains pages on its research areas, research spin-outs (commercialisation projects), research facilities, and team.
ECOSEN Ltd
ECOSEN Ltd is a Romanian private research laboratory for environmental sensing and semiconductor sensors.
Ecosen’s homepage gives a company presentation and overview, while the rest of this all-inclusive web site includes information on its: projects, services, ongoing search for partners, published papers, and a detailed “Who’s who” of its four principals.
Adaptive Sensors Group
The Adaptive Sensors Group (ASG) is located in the National Centre for Sensor Research, a Multidisciplinary Research Centre at Dublin City University. The Adaptive Sensors Group carries out research in a wide variety of areas including environmental monitoring, smart materials, wearables and microfluidics.
ASG’s extremely comprehensive web site delineates pages on its: projects, patents and IP, facilities, publications, people, partners, useful links, news, list of instruments, and downloads.
Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere
With over $40 million in funding, the Engineering Research Center for Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere (CASA) is a multi-sector partnership among North American universities, industry, and government. CASA is dedicated to engineering revolutionary weather-sensing Distributed Collaborative Adaptive Sensing (DCAS) networks to detect the region of the lower atmosphere currently below conventional radar range – mapping storms, winds, rain, temperature, humidity, and the flow of airborne hazards.
CASA’s extensive and thorough web site provides the site visitor with material on its innovative research, collaborations, team, partners and news, and education and outreach.
