New magnetic angular sensor PRAS3 with analog output

New magnetic angular sensor PRAS3 with analog output

ASM introduces the latest addition to the POSIROT® family, PRAS3, a new magnetic angular position sensor in a compact 36mm (1.4 in.) diameter housing (Figure 3). The active sensor element uses an internal, contact-free permanent magnet to determine the angular position. The measurement ranges are available in 158 increments: 0-15º 0-30º 0-45º up to 0-360º. The servo flange mounting insures quick and easy installation for the PRAS3 series.

With its stainless steel housing that is rated up to IP69K, the PRAS3 series is well suited for the extremely harsh conditions such as those found on off- highway construction equipment and many industrial applications. The sensor is equipped with two extra strong ball bearings to handle axial and radial loads along the sensor's 10mm shaft.

Mounting brackets are available for either eccentric mounting clamps or through whole bolts. The user may choose from two types of brackets: one that is welded to the application and another that is bolted onto the application.

Three different analog outputs are available: 0.5-4.5V, 0.5-10V and 4- 20mA. The resolution and repeatability are defined as up to ±0.03 percent over the full scale. The linearity is defined as ±0.3 percent over the full scale. All of the PRAS3 models are available with the output signal increasing either clockwise or counter-clockwise and with a housing that is rated either IP67 or IP69K.
