Sony Vision Network adds four new members
Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions Division has announced that the Sony Vision Network, a partnership programme intended to deliver proven combinations of Sony hardware and third-party software backed with expert consultancy, advice and supply chain support, has added four new members: Machine Vision Direct (MVD), Silicon Systems, Shafi and Compar AG. They bring distribution and support, data storage, manufacturing software and system integration expertise to the Network – key elements to add further resources for Sony machine vision customers to support their machine vision applications.
“We welcome our latest four new partners to our ever-evolving Vision Network. Their breadth of expertise will complement our existing partners and further enable customers to seamlessly integrate Sony camera modules into their applications,” said Arnaud Destruels, Product Marketing Manager at Sony ISS. “The Network was set up to help achieve fast and simple application- and system- building by identifying assured sources of hardware and software compatible with Sony's products, and providing expertise, experience and advice on integration and sector- specific issues”.
The four new members bring a range of new offerings to the Sony Vision Network:
- 1.
MVD. An official Sony machine vision camera module reseller and full system integrator for the UK.
- 2.
Silicon Systems. A compact flash manufacturer that guarantees compatibility of its secure CF cards with Sony's smart camera range (both XCI-SX1 and XCI-V3 models).
- 3.
Shafi Inc. Provides specialist software for robotic applications that is compatible with market standards and is partnered with a robot manufacturer for ease of implementation in Sony smart cameras.
- 4.
Compar AG. A system integrator from Switzerland that has ported visionexpert, the company's professional level generic machine vision software, to Sony's smart camera range (both XCI-SX1 and XCI-V3 models).
The Sony Vision Network was launched in November 2005 with the aim of providing customers with the assurance of hardware and software combinations that will work together, but too also to make it easier for them to access the expertise required to complete a project. This includes not only machine vision and image processing advice, but also experience in the use of such technologies in specific industries.
Sony Vision Network current members Euresys; FDS; I2S; Jencam; MaxxVision; MVTech; NeoVision; Tordivel; Unibrain; bring systems expertise, GUI-based development tools, software libraries and hardware such as lighting systems and lenses – all of the elements needed to build a complete machine vision system. Whilst newer members Abstract Computing International and Open Wide, provide support for new opportunities in the security market with Sony's smart camera.
