ASM introduces new POSIROT®Magnetic 360° Angle Sensor

ASM GmbH has expanded its innovative line of POSIROT® angular position sensors with the introduction of a new magnetic angle sensor in a 20mm (0.8in.) flat, 36mm (1.4in.) diameter servo flange housing. PRAS2 (Figure 4) is a dependable, contact- and wear-free sensor that utilizes an external permanent magnet to measure complete angular position from 0 to 3608 with a typical resolution of 0.18.

PRAS2 models are available with three different analog outputs: 4- 20mA, 0.5-4.5V and 0.5-10V. The angle measurement circuitry is shielded from external environment conditions. It has also been designed to be highly shock- and vibration-resistant.

With its low 20mm (0.8in.) height, this new compact model, PRAS2, can be quickly installed without requiring much space.

Since, this sensor is in a rugged IP 68 stainless steel housing, it can reliably handle the toughest industrial environments and makes it suitable for many applications such steering and tilt angle measurement on mobile construction equipment.
