Web sites
This is the web site of the Institute of Nanotechnology (IoN), The IoN works closely with governments, universities, researchers, and companies worldwide on developing and promoting all aspects of nanotechnology.
According to the web site's statistics it receives over 1.5 million hits per month making it a well used web site. It is nicely laid out and contains all the sections you would expect from such a large web site including news, events, etc... The news section is very thorough with many nano related articles available it is also very up to date – four new articles were posted on the day this site was reviewed. A comprehensive book list is available which links into Amazon.co.uk's shop so you can then purchase it online. Also the career's section allows situation wanted and situations vacant to be posted by IoN members. There is an interesting section about nano images where in the “gallery”; researchers have posted images from their work.
The advertising on this site is kept to a minimum and does not interfere with the use or viewing of the rest of the site. I would recommend visiting this site for any readers of Sensor Review who are interested in nanotechnology.
The MEMS Industry Group (MIG) is a trade association representing the MEMS and microstructure industries. Its mission statement is “MIG strives to be the unifying voice of the commercial MEMS industry. Our mission is to try to understand and to eliminate the barriers that prevent the greater commercial use of MEMS and MEMS-enabled technology.” This is their web site and it is a really nice to use one. The member only area allows MIG members to access a member directory and MIG industry reports and statistics. This is a web site is a valuable resource for those involved in the commercial MEMS industry.
The Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) are involved in promotion and integration of nano and other advanced technologies through education, technology and business development. Nanotech conference publications are available to purchase, details are of future conferences are also available on this site. The NSTI Nano Job Center is dedicated to jobs at the intersection of nanotechnology, microtechnology, biotechnology, and information technology. Job seekers can search and apply for jobs and post their details, employers can also post jobs.
This web site contains details about the NSTI's activities and is worth visiting for information about nanotechnology.
