DENSO and Mobileye to start joint development for image sensing and processing technology
Keywords: Image sensor
DENSO Corporation and Mobileye N.V., after a period of joint development of visual recognition functions for automotive applications, have signed a joint development agreement. The development is aimed to realize safety control and warning systems using monocular video processing algorithms running on a system-on-a-chip architecture (“EyeQ”) computing platform.
Mobileye N.V., headquartered in the Netherlands, is a development company of advanced image sensing and processing technology, using computer vision technology for processing image sequences from a single camera input source. The processing includes functionalities such as vehicle detection, lane finding and pedestrian detection. The functionalities are embedded within a system-on-a-chip technology that provides an advanced integrated visual processing capability.
Mobileye's EyeQ computing platform supports a wide range of Vision Applications that have been developed by the company for driver assistance and for increasing automotive safety, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keeping/heading control, fusion with radar/lidar applications, Pre- crash active safety, forward collision warning (FCW), headway warning, pedestrian protection, lane change assist, blind spot detection, passenger detection and classification (adult, child, baby seat, etc.), and Passenger out of position. The EyeQ features are embedded within a system-on-a-chip technology that provides an advanced integrated visual processing capability in a single silicon device which meets automotive cabin qualification requirements.
Mobileye N.V. is headquartered in the Netherlands, with R&D in Israel and satellite offices in the US, Cyprus and Japan. An international supplier of key components in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and the only ITS supplier with a product offering covering the entire range of vision applications, their unique monocular vision platform works as a “third eye” to help drivers improve safety and avoid accidents, and has the potential to revolutionize the way we drive.
