Carlo Gavazzi's customers in the UK could soon be benefiting from improved delivery and advanced product development following the opening of the company's new production facility in Lithuania.

Carlo Gavazzi's new sensor plant, opening in Kaunas, Lithuania, provides 2,000 m2 of manufacturing space, will produce 50 per cent of the sensor products currently manufactured in Denmark and initially employ 60 people in production and administrative roles. In addition, Carlo Gavazzi will continue to employ 150 people in R&D roles at the company's Hadsten facility in Denmark, developing value-added products and new applications.

“The UK market for sensor products is extremely competitive”, said Nigel Ralf, General Manager, Carlo Gavazzi UK. “The opening of the new factory in Kaunas will result in our UK customers seeing improved lead times, faster introduction of new products and potential cost savings”.

The plant in Lithuania, which is wholly owned by Carlo Gavazzi Industri, Denmark, was selected for its efficient local infrastructure, reduced production costs and good level of education among the potential work force.
