Integrated image processing consolidates expertise in complex solutions for the automotive industry.

Cognex has recently concluded a worldwide cooperation agreement with the German company, Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH. The two companies plan to work closely together on technical issues in the future. Johann A. Krause will deploy Cognex machine vision systems within the automation solutions it supplies to the automotive industry. As the world market leader in the industrial imaging sector, Cognex is the ideal partner for Johann A. Krause. The agreement will allow Johann A. Krause to exploit Cognex's comprehensive expertise in this field.

Johann A. Krause develops, designs manufactures and delivers turnkey assembly systems for powertrain components. This includes the associated inspection and testing installations, for the automotive and automotive supply industries. In the automation segment, the Johann A. Krause Group is a technology leader and ranks among the preferred suppliers of semi-automatic and fully automatic systems. Each of the two companies anticipates powerful synergy benefits as they implement customised solutions.

Cognex's technology, many years of experience in industrial image processing, and provision of worldwide local support and training were the key criteria applied by Johann A. Krause in its search for a strategic partner. “This cooperation with Cognex will allow Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik to fulfill all specific requests from out customers as efficiently as possible,” says Dr Thomas Trittin, Project Manager Development Controls Department at Johann A. Krause.
