Up to now for the acquisition of uncompressed video data streams into laptops provide low frame rates, low resolutions and proprietary programming interfaces. With the video-to-Firewire converter DFG/1394-1, the imaging source now offers a solution to these three problems. It allows live display of uncompressed NTSC/PAL data streams at full resolution, as well as a standardized programming interface (Plate 11).
