E-T-A Circuit Breakers has expanded its range of flow monitoring instrumentation by offering a new flow monitor/switch for water, oil, gases and even aggressive media, suitable for applications in process control, in food processing, and in the oil and chemical industries. Its compact size and innovative plug-in, or screw-in, connection provides rapid fit-and-forget reliability (see Plate 1).
The new E-T-A FS10 flow switch, available from E-T-A's specialist control and instrumentation distributor, Caché Instrumentation, can be pre-set to provide an electronic signal when a flow rate reaches either a maximum or a minimum value. The MAX/MIN setting, via an integral potentiometer, can be simply and steplessly adjusted in situ using a screwdriver. It is available either for screw-in installation or for use with the new ISO 6149 plug-in adapter system. With an operating temperature range of –25°C to +100°C and environmental protection to IP67, the FS10 is suitable for even the harshest conditions.

The FS10 features a stainless steel sensor and fitting, with integral electronic controller for DC24V. MIN/MAX status signalling is by means of a high-side FET output. A wear proof design with no moving parts in the flow stream ensures maintenance free operation within a wide range of different industries.
