Faro UK – a name synonymous with portable coordinate measuring solutions – has extended its family of AnthroCAM® software with the introduction of two new programs (see Plate 8).
AnthroCAM Automotive™ and AnthroCAM CAD Analyzer™, in combination with Faro's four existing AnthroCAM family members, represent "the" computer-aided manufacturing measurement (CAMM) interface to CAD: all programs allowing manufacturers to integrate design, production, measurement and quality inspection processes on a common software platform.

Especially suited to the measurement of very large components with correspondingly large CAD files typical within the automotive industry, AnthroCAM Automotive provides direct CAD-based nominal-to-actual-value comparison during the measuring process.
AnthroCAM CAD Analyzer
AnthroCAM CAD Analyzer enables users to view large and complex CAD files from any standard PC with Windows NT®. Individual parts or complete assemblies can be loaded into AnthroCAM CAD Analyzer for viewing CAD data, and by networking the computer to engineering CAD files shopfloor access to design information is instant.
Specifically designed to be used by personnel with minimal prior computer or CAD experience, Faro's AnthroCAM family of software support the CAMM process from start to finish, including prototyping, production planning, process control and inspection. In addition to increasing measuring precision within the manufacturing process, AnthroCAM software delivers real time-saving benefits through a reduction in production set-up times.
