Raytek's non-contact thermometers for professionals offer new features and improved accuracy at no extra costKeyword: Thermometers
The range of non-contact ST series professional thermometers from Raytek Corporation has been upgraded with new key features and greater accuracy to improve ease of use, ergonomics, and performance, while maintaining prices.
Temperature control is an essential part of predictive and preventative maintenance in a wide range of applications including automotive, electrical systems and HVAC/R processes. The upgraded ST series (Plate 6) with its point, press and read capability, increased accuracy and temperature range offers a value-packed solution for busy maintenance and technical professionals for whom time is money.

Major new features
- •
The ST 30/60/80 models feature an offset eight-point circular laser sighting system that closely approximates the measured area. The ST20 has a single point laser.
- •
Improved optical resolution permits the measurement of smaller areas, or the same area from a greater distance. The ST20 and ST30 offer 12:1 resolution; the ST60 has 30:1; and the ST80 has 50:1.
- •
Circular laser sighting allows easier identification of the target area.
- •
A rugged design with rubber overmolding on all models withstands rough handling and allows prolonged, comfortable use.
Wide ranging applications
The improved ST series can be used by auto technicians to detect vehicle engine misfires, check coolant thermostat operation and catalytic converters, ensure proper temperature ranges for food safety in distribution and storage, check HVAC/R equipment and investigate hot spots in electrical conduits in building/plant maintenance.
Additional performance enhancements
- •
The addition of a probe jack for contact measurement verification in the ST60 and ST80 models, coupled with expanded temperature ranges on most models, increases versatility and performance. Optional ranges are now: between –32° and 545°C (–25° and 950°F) on the ST30; between –32° and 600°C (–25° and 1,100°F) on the ST60; and –32° to 760°C (–25° to 1,400°F) on the ST80. The ST20's range of –32° to 400°C (–25° to 750°F) remains unchanged.
- •
The ST60 and ST80 models have improved data storage capabilities. Data storage is not normally available at these price points.
The series continues to offer better than 1 per cent accuracy, backlit display, low battery indicator, automatic off and seven-second display hold. The ST60 and ST80 also offer adjustable emissivity, maximum/minimum differential, average temperature readings, last reading recall, and a high/low temperature audible/visible alarm.
