New inductive sensor is perfect for valve control

Turck Banner introduces the Q10S, a tiny inductive sensor in a micro-switch style housing that is perfect for valve positioning control and other proximity switching applications (see Plate 3).

The increasing amount of automation in industry today is boosting the demand for feedback from valves and other equipment and the Q10S is launched in response to this. Sensors are much better than limit switches in this application, as there are no contacts and closed loop operation allows easy monitoring for open or closed circuits.

Protected to IP68 against dust ingress by a unique over-moulded case, the Q10S is available in DC, AC Mains and Namur versions, all in the same compact housing. A large corner mounted LED suitable for use in hazardous areas is visible from all directions and is a great boon to engineers during commissioning and maintenance, avoiding repeated trips back to the control room.

A clever cut away section of the sensor body allows greater flexibility of the connection cable. This makes it much easier to mount the sensor in tight spaces and compact housings.

OEMs will love the flexibility and reliability of the Q10S and end users can be sure that when using this product, their plants will be safer than ever. It is another leading edge product from Turck Banner, the ideal partnership.
