The Sensing & Control business of Honeywell announced today that it has acquired UK-based Trendview Recorders, a manufacturer of high quality data acquisition products and paperless recorders. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Trendview is headquartered in Christchurch, Dorset, and has sales operations in Europe, the USA and India.
Trendview's products expand Honeywell's porffolio of video/paperless recorders which are used to capture vital process data. "We are excited about this acquisition", said Ron Sieck, vice-president and general manager of Sensing and Control. "Trendview is recognised in the industry as being a world leader in innovation and leading edge products. We can now offer an expanded portfolio of world-class control technology solutions to our customers worldwide. It is a tremendous opportunity for growth in the fast-growing instrumentation and data-acquisition marketplace."
Trendview's range of recorders is supported by Trendmanager Pro™, a suite of Windows-based software packages which provides extensive data analysis, graphing and archiving features. In addition to paperless chart recorders, Trendview manufactures pressure transducers, pressure transmitters and solid state sensors.
In 1984 Trendview introduced video recorder technology with the Teletrend™ paperless chart recorder. In 1999 the company launched its V5 product line, incorporating new logging technology and high speed recording, coupled with interact and e-mail support using ethernet connectivity. "The combination of Trendview's innovative recording solutions and Honeywell's global presence now creates a huge opportunity to introduce new data acquisition technologies to the global market", says Charlie White, managing director of Trendview Recorders.
The Trendview manufacturing facility in Christchurch will continue production as Honeywell evaluates its sales and manufacturing strategies for these products.
