The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) has made four of its publications available on a single CD-ROM. The UKIVA is a not-for-profit organisation, whose prime objective is promoting the use of vision technology by manufacturing industry in the UK. All four publications were previously only available in paper versions.
The four titles are: Using Colour Information in Machine Vision, 100 Per Cent Digital Image Acquisition for Vision, Options for the Inspection of Moving Products and the Machine Vision Handbook. The files are presented as PDFs and the CD-ROM contains a copy of Adobe Acrobat reader software, for anyone who does not already have a copy installed on their computer.
Using Colour Information in Machine Vision provides a useful introduction to the fundamental concepts involved in colour analysis in imaging applications. 100 Per Cent Digital Image Acquisition for Vision reviews the latest digital acquisition technology and how it is replacing conventional TV standards for machine vision applications.
Options for the Inspection of Moving Products is a guide to capturing images with facilities for "stopping the motion" in the imaging device or the illumination system. The UKIVA's Machine Vision Handbook provides a thorough overview of machine vision systems, including how they work, what such a system can do and the financial justification for using machine vision.
Details of UKIVA members who offer the appropriate products or service can be found in each publication. The CD-ROM is priced at £40 + VAT, compared to £20 for each individual monograph in paper format. Copies may be obtained from Liz Flowerday or Jennie Harris, UK Industrial Vision Association, PO Box 25, Royston, Herts SG8 6TL, UK.
