Keywords Vision, Technology

Pinnacle Vision are pleased to announce the availability of the Digivision Value Vision, a real time contrast and detail enhancement unit for use in medical, industrial and security applications where live picture enhancement is needed at low cost (see Plate 4).

Plate 4 Digivision Value Vision - providing live picture enhancement

Value Vision is based on Digivision's patented VLACE (Video Locally Adaptive Contrast Enhancement) technology, which is used in the existing smart vision products. Using a smaller kernel, Value Vision reduces the cost of the technology and also provides enhancement of higher frequency smaller details but loses some of the Smart Vision's ability to handle low frequency detail such as found in infra red imaging.

The unit supports both RS170 and CCIR timing as composite colour, monochrome and y/c formats. Control is provided via three potentiometers controlling the amount of background shading correction, the size of the detail enhancement and the amount of detail enhancement.

Value Vision is available as a PCB for OEM customers and a boxed end user version. Prices start from under £500 for one off quantities.
