The eVision Image Analysis Environment is proud to welcome a new software tool: EasyMatrixCode (Plate 16). EasyMatrix Code is able to detect and read Data Matrix codes as defined by AIMI. Data Matrix codes are a 2-dimension extension of barcodes. EasyMatrix Code supports the ECC200 standard (ASCII, C40, TEXT, X12, EDIFACT and BASE256 enodation formats) as well as the ECC000, ECC050, ECC080, ECC100 and ECC140 standards (BASE11, BASE27, BASE37, BASE41, ASCII and BYTE encodation formats).

The 2D code is automatically searched for in the image, a minimum and maximum rotation angle may be specified. It may be white or black. Error detection and correction are used to provide a robust recognition.

EasyMatrix Code is compatible with Windows 95, 98 and NT. It can be integrated into Microsoft Visual C++, Visual Basic, Borland C++ and C++ Builder applications. Typical execution times (code location and decoding, þ30ú rotation on a 400MHz PentiumII) range from 20 to 30 ms.
