Over 500 AS-Interface products and services listed

AS-Interface, the networking system for sensors and devices at the lowest field level, has launched a CD-ROM Electronic Product Guide (EPG) which includes over 500 products and services from over 60 companies world-wide (see Plate 2).

The EPG incorporates an advanced search facility for selecting product listings based on parameters such as vendor name, product group and product type. Information displayed for each product includes: product name, product type, product group, order number, certification number, a short description of the product, plus contact person and details of the supplier. The CD-ROM also contains a World-wide members' list, plus full contact details of the 1,000 suppliers around the world.

"There has been a tremendous increase in the number of new AS-Interface products in recent months, which has created the need for an EPG. The new EPG is an extremely comprehensive catalogue and should prove to be a great tool for vendors and users alike", said Geoff Hodgkinson, chairman AS-Interface Great Britain.

The catalogue can be run from the CD-ROM or installed onto a hard disk. It also can be browsed in either English or German. Currently available free from the six national User Groups, or from any of the 60+ member companies, the EPG will soon be available to browse and download from the AS-Interface Web site.

AS-Interface is supported by over 60 vendor companies in 11 countries, with six national User Groups already established USA, Switzerland, Belgium, UK, France, The Netherlands in addition to AS-Interface International based in Germany. A very wide range of masters, slaves, devices, cable and accessories is available, allowing users to choose the best mix of products and vendor companies for their individual applications. The newest AS-Interface member company is Fuji Electric, an important Japanese manufacturer.
